I have this as a two sided 45 with the B side being 'Strange Boy' the group name was Corect Spelling here in Canada. the vid is cool Michelle looks good for 17. a little naughty too showing just a wee bit of breast near the end around 3:05 not that I was looking lol
I consider this song to be the quintessential 80's track. I have 2 copies of the 45 and the 12" extended version released out of Canada. I was one of the fortunate Americans who grew up on the border of Quebec with the great radio stations CKGM and CHOM out of Montreal and CKTS out of Sherbrooke and the myriad of French language that played alot of english music. This song was played for quite a while and I beleive was at least a minor hit at least in Quebec.
Hi Ian Morse here i wrote this song and i think i came up withe the name Cold Fish sorry. This was released as a single but nobody bought it. Midge did produce this, god bless his socks but he did not play all the guitars and keyboards we did. He did play the guitar solo though, and did a much better job than i would of. Julian Lyndsey played the rather lovely piano parts. Hope you guys and girl are all well and flourishing.
Seriously, how stupid of a name is Cold Fish for a project like that? Cool song and vid ♥ (though it would have been even cooler without any daylight shots ;)
No kidding she was "game" for this video! None of my friends seem to remember this song. Their loss! Love the fact the visuals are less than perfectly clear on YT.
Thanks for posting this video! I've never seen it before and also had no idea they were originally called Cold Fish. It is a better name...
For those interested, Michele McAdorey went on to form Crash Vegas in the late 80s. They had a few hits, 3 albums, and then she released a solo disc in the late 90s and then, as far as I know, vanished.
Lovely voice. Low budget video, but better than nothing!
I've been looking for this song for years (so you totally rock!). I've never seen the video before, but it certainly adds an extra something. Are there any other Cold Fish/Corect Spelling songs out there? (And can I get in line to spank whichever record exec screwed with the band's name?)
I am SO excited to see this video again! I saw it at a little dance place called "Bumpers" in Surrey, BC a million years ago.... And I bought the 45 for this great song, but have lost it over the years. I want this song badly! Can anyone help me out???
i was the drummer in the band and the reason we were called corect spelling in canada was because cbs,our record label, changed our name without telling or asking us because they thought cold fish was too downbeat. thats entertainment.
I don't like either name, but Cold Fish sounds better. This is the only song from CF I'm familiar with. Has Midge Ure produced anything else apart from 'Love Me Today'? Do other songs sound a bit like this one?
I love this video and song. It is part of my youth. I searched for a long time to locate it on vinyl. The Canadian radio station CFNY (102.1 Toronto) use to play it back in the 80s. I went as far as contacting Midge Ure to track it down years ago. Her voice is amazing! THANKS R4949 !!!!! I love it!
WOW! I never thought I'd see this video. I've loved this song since the mid 80s. The music and vocals, and the video are just brilliant - it should have been a major hit!
Is there a reason why the name of the band is different in the UK and in Canada?
If you read "About this video" there is some info there - but thanks for the tip - I've added Midge etc to the tags... By the way - I'm not American - and thanks for the comment...

I don't think I've ever heard the extended 12" mix, and I would love to. Do you think you can upload it and share it with us, please, please, please?
Thanks!

Cool! I have the CBS promo 7 inch vinyl record on this one.
Midg Ure has produced it and he plays the synths and guitar. This is song is "leftovers" from the VISAGE project.
Sorry, but you Americans never got a good grip on the new romantic scene in the 80's or ever...
This vid should be tagged as UTRAVOX and Midge Ure.

It's a nice song and not a bad video indeed! David (R4949) you should really consider a DVD compilation with your work on music videos...
