I think a lot of their brilliance comes from their history of creating musical scores for movies, back in the early days. They were spectacular at blending music with visual art, and this continues today. For example, I have seen many modern movies, which could have benefited greatly, emotionally speaking, from having their music added as a score. They have always been brilliant at emotional expression through music, and for some reason, it combines perfectly with film and other visuals.
