Stalin was a devout atheist. It is the humanistic worldview that drove Hitler to slaughter 6 million Jews. Hitler and the Nazis thought they were doing the world a "favor" by trying to rid it of Jews. They used Darwinian philosophy to justify this. As Hitler thought the Jews were an "inferior race" in the evolutionary spectrum. "Survival of the fittest" at its best.
