  • 11 deaf folks were listening...

  • i always loved cash but when i saw this in the season 2 premiere of walking dead i lost my mind. love em both

  • sorry but bonnie prince billy is better

  • @Wyndhamhp He's in the song doing backup vocals.

  • Johnny Cash didn't cover songs, he made them his own and took them to a different level.

  • COVER

  • johnny cash will be in our souls forever. even when we are dead. he will be remembered. peace cash.

  • I recorded all the new Walking Dead. Its been gettin me through the wait until the season picks back up in February. But, at the end of episode one, I hear this amazing song....and I cant stop singing it. I really want someone to make a fan video or something with the complete song. Its just perfect.

  • One of the best songs ever. Amazing.

  • I've been listening to this man for a while but somehow just never came across this song before. I just got chills. Shit.

  • @SpoookiePoookie Yup just when I thought I heard the best of Cash, I stumble upon a gem like this, that completely blows me away.

  • @Falsel1ght It happens with the best of them :) And every time it does, you feel so grateful to the world.

  • He simply was the best of the best. No one could ever bring so much soul, heart and true passion into music.

  • god bless yi ma man,

  • good tune!!

  • Bonnie 'Prince' Billy - I See a Darkness :D

  • Pretty sad

  • Will oldham

  • @zombiehunter751 yeah, thats because it would be from a newcomer. but johnny got history and was respected whenever he grabbed his guitar. you knew that he was KNOWING what hes singing about, and everyone forgot his destroyed voice. he was sincere. thats the difference, friendo!

  • @Koppinsky No point arguing with this clown, I just looked through his profile and apparently he doesn't think slavery was a big deal. I knew there had to be something wrong with him.

  • whats this fucking gay advert on a johnny cash song for????

  • @MattandtheJays this was the first song from Johnny Cash that I heard and I really liked. Its like music brings out different feelings in each person.

  • @mathgama i hear yeah man i lost my best friend almost 2 years ago song goes right thou me

  • @MattandtheJays That's the point, his voice makes the song.

  • @MattandtheJays I think you're missing the point of why people like this song. Hint: it's not his incredible singing skills.

  • @Mr3gg it's just b/c incredible writing skills from someone else

  • @TheRealRoof if it's incredible writing skills from someone else, someone else should make success, not him?

  • @mathgama That's not how the world works and never will.

  • hearing this song makes me think about the end of days a time when the world is in chaos and all we half to look forward to is to hear johnny tell his storys of pain and sadness.but as he said we will all go to heaven.that some thing to look forward to when were gone.

  • I came to this video out of vague curiosity and have left completely changed.

  • Why is "Breasts Are The Best" linked to this video?

  • This song is amazing, Thanks to the walking dead I know of this song

  • I wish he'd done Will Oldham's "Tonight's Decision"-- shivers thinking about it.

  • Mr Cash had no illusions about life love and death...

  • I like it but it's a shame that J Cash will probably go down in history as a bigger legend than Will Oldham who is a vastly superior artist.

  • i cry every time i hear this ..................

  • @Mr1stcat pussy

  • @iNarbage Na man.. there is no hate on johnny cash's videos. don't say that

  • @iNarbage your the fuckin pussy you donkey rapeing cock sucker go eat shit faggot

  • Would be nice to change the caption of this song as it looks like he wrote the song whereas Will Oldham / Bonnie 'Prince' Billy did. But yeah love both versions

  • @HildurM Well, yeah but it sounds better when he sings it

  • @HildurM a lot of artists perform songs that they didn't write.

  • @HildurM Exactly.

  • This makes me think of my best friend that died at 15.R.I.P. Thomas Blackwell RAIDER RAID!

  • Great artists make platinum albums. Legends echo through the halls of eternity. Johnny's echo is loud and clear.

  • @drewnwalker Very well said.

  • @drewnwalker Also, great artists like Mr. Cash and Mr. Prince Billy deserve better than to have 15 second who-gives-a-....-about-this commercials at the start of their profoundness... Dont they?

  • @drewnwalker never heard a voice louder and more clear he'll have my respects even on my death bed i want to listen to him

  • canto em The Walking dead essa musica ^^;

  • if your wondering who's singing with him its his wife june carter :P

  • the walking dead brought me here..bad asssss songgggggggggggg

  • @mohag519 thanks man i feel soooooo stupid now because of all the Bonnie 'Prince' Billy related videos

  • @Eastwoodfan95 It's Bonnie 'Prince' Billy; the original creator of this song.

  • who's that singing with him?

  • Johnny Cash was amazingly honest, courageous, big-hearted man - my first hero, from the age of four (and his was the first concert I ever saw, at age four). God bless this man. And when I hear his last songs, I love and respect him all the more. Bless you Johnny. God speed.

  • >dat forehead

  • Ovo slušam svaki put kad dođem iz grada.

  • 8 people are zombies

  • When ever I hear this song, I'm reminded of Dexter's "darkness" This song describes Dexter perfectly.

  • When I am 20 years old, I will make a Low-Budget film and this song will be in my intro. And I am dead serious about it.

  • @2cool4u1000000000000 Wont be very low budget if you want this song in it. Buying the rights to it will cost you a bit.

  • @ZackJ100 It's not gonna be in theatres. Only locally, would it still cost if it was locally and only on dvd?

  • @2cool4u1000000000000 copyright would prevent you from using the song in any capacity without having explicit permission from the content owner. unfortunately a song like this can't be used in your film if you plan to screen it, without dishing out some big money or having some kind of special permission.

  • @BanThisChannel Woah, you scared me with your channel name. lol I thought I was in trouble. Well, then I guess it won't be a low-budget film. But it won't be in theatres, if you want a copy when it's made just tell me. lol, i'm sure I can give to you in about 9 years from now.

  • @2cool4u1000000000000

Copyrights are copyrights, whether it's playing on a DVD player or in a theater. If you have a movie and are charging people to see it (Or even if you aren't.), you need to buy the rights to any copyrights pertaining to music or film clips (LIke, say, if you showed a character watching "Casino".).

Before you make a flick, learn the ins and outs of doing it. The only workaround that I know of to avoid paying royalties is by making a documentary film. Hope that helps.

  • @JRuffinelli Woah, calm down. lol It sounds like you're kinda angry at me.

  • this man is amazingly epic

  • Johnny Cash, you will always be my favorite musician. You're music always is so hauntingly beautiful.

  • I came here for Walking Dead

I came back for Johnny Cash

  • Mr. Johnny Cash, being one of my all time heroes, did a great job covering this beautifull song by Will Oldham a.k.a.Bonny "Prince" Billy. And this song is perfectly suited for a post apocalyptic story.

  • mr.cash very well done.......RIP

  • can anyone stop talkin about the walking dead or what other movies this came from. i came because i love johnny cash and not because i heard it in a show

  • @CAPCBMERRITT and @MavenCree. I don't care, I was simply making a comment, MY GOD, can't I make a little comment about something without the whole world jumping down my throat. Geez leave it alone people. I was not talking about the meaning of each of his songs, I just noticed that his songs are used in zombie stuff. Okay, now people shut up and stop saying: oh his song doesn't do that, I was not talking about that Okay! I just made a comment, shut up people. Geez.

  • Comment removed

  • 3:08 yeah oh yeah

  • i'm here thanks to The Walkind Dead!!!

  • @geekyt4. I meant that I hear these types of music in zombie movies, not that I've never heard it before. I just said that they use Johnny Cash a lot in zombie movies.

  • @MavenCree. I only ever heard it in Zombie movies. lol.

  • @mckfrr thats sad

  • Johnny Cash is Awesome and Walking Dead is awesome.

  • S02E01

  • Johnny cash+walking dead!

  • check out Simon Neil's version (Biffy)

  • Never heard this song before I saw the Walking Dead Season 2 trailer. Awesome song!

  • Who cares how we got here -- we're all just that much better off for having arrived.

  • @arigato021 God Bless you for saying that.

  • @arigato021 amen to that

  • @arigato021 Amazing statement.

  • 7 people Hung there Heads.

  • I'm not here because of The Walking Dead, but I love the song and the show anyways.

  • such a beautiful, beautiful song...

  • Wow! I just discovered that there were other buttons besides the play button.

    Also The Walking Dead FTW.

  • Johnny Cash brought me here.

    LOL

  • walking dead brought me here

  • I noticed that they use Johnny Cash for a lot of Zombie movies, like in Dawn of the Dead they used When the Man Comes Around and in the Walking Dead they used this song. But hey, I think it's because Johnny's music is a good theme for end of the world sadness.

  • @mckfrr So true!

  • @mckfrr Not just zombies. Anytime you hear "When the Man Comes Around" in a tv show or a movie, there's gonna be a slaughter of some kind.

  • @mckfrr

This song in particular doesn't strictly go along with the end of the world stuff like the other songs can, I think it's more about love and depression, and getting past it eventually.

  • @mckfrr That is the main theme of Dawn of the dead after all..

  • @mckfrr It's also cool that he's infamously known as 'The Man in Black', and that was a character from Stephen King's Dark Towers series.

  • @jenscja And his cover of Big Iron brings Roland to mind too

  • @mckfrr second that.

  • lol i totally just came here because of the tralier of The Walking Dead :P

  • A friend of mine brought me here.

  • thumbs up if your'are gay

  • well i must say, oldham's back up vocals is what makes this version really good. without them it would be just a mediocre version and everyone would present it as a masterpiece just because johnny cash is singing...

  • @JCatemybrains I'd actually like this more without Oldham's backup vocals, but I guess it's all a matter of perception and preference.

  • @JCatemybrains totally agree. thought the song was alright till the middle where the back-up vocals came, then I was like "AUHHHH YEEAAAHHHH!!!!

  • @CACox97 well said! *clap clap clap* :)

  • yeah seriously, give will oldham some credit.

  • Supposedly this and all of his last few songs are allegedly from his point of view that he is fixing to die and go to hell alone to answer for all he has done. I can see it Deep

  • i love The Walking Dead, best show ever made

  • @22imawsome yes sir!

  • "OMFG! THEY SHOOT THE LIL BOY!!!!"-->youtube-->here

  • CASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I have this on mp3... But The Walking Dead made me come here. I feel... myself... changing... into... into... aaaaaahhhhhhhh

  • @JackFlanders into a gay

  • Oh Hell yeah!! Walking dead and the Man in Black! Bad ass show! Bad ass song! RIP Mr Cash. We will see you soon after the zombie apocalypse! : p

  • TWD FTW

  • original, by will oldham/bonnie 'prince' billy: watch?v=LAriDxTeed8

    Woot!

  • The Walking Dead !!!!!!!!!

  • The walking dead has just gave you an extra few million hits soon enough

  • walking dead =)

  • The Walking dead brought me here :)

    Awesome song by the way.

  • Cash moves me like no other....

  • I'll sing this and think of my friends. My brothers.

  • @zekeencinas Same!! This was such a good song to use....

  • We are all in dark times.. I will always keep fighting for good!

  • To identify with this song is not a glory, but for those of us who do can understand its messege for redemption.

  • walking dead anyone?

  • @enthnd03 I saw the commercial so i came here lol love the show and Johnny!

  • Comment removed

  • @enthnd03 yep..... lmao

  • @enthnd03 And i've been searching for it !

  • who else finds it odd that the uploader of this particular song has the user: souljaboi7772

  • @zkits0 ...The original man in black is universal. Besides, greatnes is undeniable

  • this song is originally by Bonnie Prince Billy - he's the guy singing back up on the chorus

  • Oh Johnny, no one will ever sing like you again.

  • he's all our friends!

  • Johnny Cash is a music Legend.

You don't need to go any further.

  • Benpaul321 my too

  • It sounds like Billy Joe Shaver singing backup.

  • @BloozDelux Will Oldham

  • it does sound like brotherly love and for the immature that could come off as gay, but fuck them, grow up

    Johnny Cash rocks

    The Walking dead rocks

    this song rocks

  • when i look outside and see zombie's staggering and gazing at my house, im going to put in my headphones w/ this song playing, slowly stand up , write a note for my loved ones, grab my ar-15 my glock 35 and my mossberg 500, my survival pack, put on my camo open the door and walk into the darkness

  • the walking dead commercial brought me here. johnny cash is awesome.

  • is this like a bromance song?

  • i like that better than the original

  • I love how he's Christian, and so am I, and a lot of his music is in zombie movies or shows!

  • I remember listening to this song after my first love left me. It fit the time so well because all I did was drink with my friends and try to make her worry about me. Now I realize all I did was push her away...

  • @1DarkPunk Stop whining you big pussy

  • Just heard this song on a promo for the new season of The Walking Dead.

  • The thing I love about Johnny was the fact he was so open about a lot of his trials and tribulations and due to this you can see and hear where he is coming from. Imagine that an artist telling something personal not just because we want it, but because he feels it and he knows that somewhere someone will feel it too and it will help. And for that I thank God for John R. Cash.

  • Johnny Cash was a song stylist he just didn't cover a song he gave it a personal interpretation, as evidenced by the fact that when people hear him sing a song they think he wrote it.

  • simon neil from Biffy Clyro does an awesome version of this song too

  • Thumbs up if you came here because of the trailer for the new season of "Walking Dead"!!!!

  • @Quillons1 Johnny Cash brought me here.

  • @i72ock Ok...

  • @Quillons1 No I brought my damned self here.

  • @TheASLVlog Congratulations. Hold on I'm making a call right now to Congress to arrange for a medal for you...

  • @Quillons1 Not the trailer, because i saw the first episode in season 2,so i searched for the song, one of the Greatest ever, in my opinion..

  • @Quillons1 the best trailer for a tv series, and the greatest song for it

  • @Quillons1 yes

  • @Quillons1

sure xDDDD man thats the reason

  • @Quillons1 Thumbs up if you knew this song BEFORE the walking dead!

  • @Quillons1 Just saw the new "Walking Dead" episode. Ended with this song. Cash rules!

  • @Quillons1 you also wil heard it in the end of ses 2 ep 1!

  • No way. So much more emotion in Johnny's version.
