  • JUST MISSED!!! "Pineapple Princess" just missed making the Billboard's Top 10 chart; it peaked at No. 11 and spent a total of 14 weeks in the Top 100 in 1960!!!

  • she is cute :D

  • Annette Funicello -- I grew up with you (in the 80's) I have always love'd you!! You are still amazing!!!

    Aloha From Waikiki --

    XOXO

    Tiffany

  • There are no crocodiles on Oahu...wtf???

  • God bless Annette there will be a place for her in heaven after her long sad illness. She gave us so many happy moments over the years and reminds us what a great country this used to be.

  • Yes, Annette performed this on "AMERICAN BANDSTAND" {she "lip-synched" to her recording} in Hawaiian costume, when it was originally released in 1960.

  • Holla! Have you ever tried intellectus 424 diet (just google it)? Ive heard some great things about it and my buddy lost a lot of weight with it.

  • I love Annette, but I do have a ?, did she really surf?

  • @TheMahomie4life That is a terrible thing to say about such a great singer.Alot of songs were sort of cooky back then, but this song was a hit for her.

  • The background music is brazilian !! still tropical, but not Tropic of Cancer but of Capricorn

  • Total crap. Walt, what were you thinking when you gave this girl a break up from the mouseketeers?

  • @DanStill39 This girl can sing, and one of the most populr mouseketeers.

  • Annette is so beauitful and with frankie they make a great movie couple!

  • i loooove this song ! <3

My dad showed it to me a long time ago because we were in Hawaii & i was wearing a bathing suit with a pineapple on it. So, he started calling me his pineapple princess (:

  • My pappa ( he's turning 60) showed me this song! im only 11 years old! i love old songs!

  • It doesn't get any better than this. It doesn't matter that Annette doesn't know how to sing. LOL.

  • Oh boy does this bring back memories!

  • Good concept to use the Beach Party visuals for this.

  • I still love these beach movies

  • I like Frank DeCaro's version better.

  • [2010] Happy Birthday Dear Annette

I was in a record store yesterday and they had the cover of Annette Sings Anka on their wall. Must go back there and take a photo of it.

Pineapple Princess has always been my favourite Annette song. Lifelong Annette Fan, Auckland, New Zealand.

  • Love it! Thank you for the video. Hawaiiannette was always my favorite of all of Annette's albums.

  • @CraigSD Didn't one of her albums have the inscription (and picture) that said "see you in my new blue mu-mu"?

  • Love the shot of Waikiki, There are no hi-rise buildings like there is today.

  • lots of love annette!!

  • so wholesome? you can never find today??such a shame, i love this song!! :)

  • I know her grandson.

    he's gross lol

  • Hi! bit.ly/cdDf9n/

  • Aww, this song reminds me of this little girls jazz dance! how cute

  • Great Video 4 Surfers!Love Annette-soooo cute!Melinda

  • needs more cowbell

  • i played at the wedding we have 2 children.we met at the beach to

  • i love this song

  • This is another song written by the Sherman Brothers who wrote all of the music for Disney in the 60s.

  • The song was written especially for her by Richard & Robert Sherman (who later wrote the songs for "Mary Poppins" and other Disney films), and was a "Top 40" hit for her in the summer of 1960, and featured on her "Hawaiiannette" album.

  • Even if she wasn't so "well endowed" I'd still like her. She had a great onscreen persona. My very best ot good 'ol Annette.

  • i always play this song for my aunt who hates this song

  • This is really a cute song by Annette, did you know it was recorded also by 50's singer Teresa Brewer, of course Annette's was the hit.

  • I love this video and song its real catchy

  • Seemed too sticky sweet back then, but now I can really appreciate what she did.

  • there's seem so much fun and modesty in the past than today Lolz

  • I have always HATED this song.

  • @neopreneca This song was also recorded by Teresa Brewer, but of course Annette's was the hit song.

  • @neopreneca me too!!!!

  • Well this will have to make up for The Blue Mu Mu, that isn't avaliable on youtube..i can't remember ever checking it out in the past. Sometimes a sender postsa song and then takes it off and the older the sog the better the chance of it being not avaliable yet or unavaliable again after it was avaliable. Yes frankie and Annette go together like Jan and Dean. all those beach movies and all that surf..thanks for postin'..the audio was dyanamic, considering mono was big back when & this isn't.

  • Always reminds me of Dave Barry

  • I was eight when this came out, but remember it like it was yesterday.

  • Corney but i like it

  • I hope Heaven is the United States in the 1950s-1960s...

  • @HickysBoy That is sooo true.

  • I've always loved this song. Brings back memories when I used to play the 45 rpm of this song over and over (probably wore it out) on my suitcase-like record player back in the 60s. Then I went on to enjoy Annette in all those beach party moves she made. Thanks so much for sharing it here.

  • donner on soulseek likes this video

  • this song brings back great memmories love her

  • good lord! hot...great times?

  • I am old enough to remember Annette when she started on the Mickey Mouse club. She was hired as an extra, sort of, and almost immediately started getting more fan mail than anyone. She was the dream boat of the Fifties, of my generation. Her health problems are tragic. What an excellent woman!

  • I too love Annette. I wish we had more sweet innocent and beautiful human beings like here in the world. I feel awful for her and want to take away some of her pain.

  • I've been listening to this song in my van on the ride to work.. 7 hours.. and it's addicting,.. muwhahaha..

Does anyone know at what point she recorded this song? During when she WAS a Mousietear, or after? I wanna know specifics..

    Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

  • @kiyotewolf Wikipedia says the song was released in 1960. Sounds about right... I remember playing it over and over on my record player when I was about 10 or so (in 1964).

  • Always a real Class Act , loved all the Beach Party Movies. Without a doubt the best time for music.

  • I hear this song all the time at work during the summer!

  • I absolutely loved Annette. Very jealous when she got married!!!

  • Annette is demure, modest and ladylike while being assertive, confident and sexy as all get out. Today's artists could learn lots from our beloved Annette.

  • What?!

  • xoxoxox Annette!

  • If there's anyone from Pgh, PA that grew up listening to O'Brien and Garry on WTAE-AM, you know this was their official favorite song to play to celebrate anything.

  • So sad about her illness.

  • Annette is wonderful! She always was a lady.. and loved her voice.

  • Na Leo sounds better to me

  • Happy happy birthday to our beautiful Annette [2009]

Been a Annette fan since 1959. This is

    my favourite Annette song.

  • i love the video..

my mother and my grandma love this song..

    good job..

    thank u

  • I always loved watching Annette & Frankie, My Mom used to compete by dance offs, and dance to this :)

  • Wow Annette is absolutely beautiful. Shoot if I was alive back in those days shes the one my heart would go to! Its really sad to know that she has MS now:(.

  • Ilove this record.I'm not old enough to remember this era but if i was i would have bought all her records.

  • I love it. Miss these days and I wasn't even around. lol

  • I danced to this song for a recital on my fourth birthday and hell it's just so darn cute!

  • this is so fucking cute.

  • I always enjoyed Annette's low-pitch vocal register. It helped to make her songs very easy-to-sing-along-with and added much to their catchiness. I remember when this and her other hits were playing on "pop music" radio stations. (Remember those little transistor radios?) My friend always commented that Annette looked like a young Connie Francis with her highly arched eyebrows and massive bouffant hairdo.

  • I think the album cover with her on a long board is from the movie Beach Party

  • Oooooh, cmf1965... you cheeky monkey you are !

  • Loved Annettes "Double-D-Coconuts!!!!"

  • I have the Lp with a cover with Annette with a Long Board

  • Great. I love it.

  • I absolutely love this song.Annette did some fantastic songs.

  • Thanks for the mammaries!

  • @hughharman hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!

  • that is a very nice song

  • Great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Boy!! Wend I was about 10. I got this song a dime & nicle music store in Millwaukee Wisconsin. 40 years later talking to a friend I look it up on google. And there it was. That is so cool. That we can do that now a day. Now I play and record my own music. Edwin M. Santiago, aka (Pupa) from the bands Santaigo & Loisaida. Look me up. Thank you for the memories.

  • played this at my wedding....got divorced

  • @delandman81 Thats bc your a cow :D

  • @delandman81 really? you played this at your wedding and you expected it to last? sorry you got divorced but not surprised. hope you are doing well now. :)

  • @hagwire you seem like your blaming the song for her divorce lol that makes no sense

  • @delandman81 too bad you didn't listen to justin bieber.

  • @delandman81 Me Too . !!!!!!!!!

  • @delandman81 lol thats funny

  • @delandman81 did u get taken to the cleaners?

  • Excellent!

  • Wonderful

  • the sherman brothers also wrote its a small world! ackkk..that songg -_____-

  • The Sherman Brothers wrote this song!

  • I <3 Annette :-)

  • Love this!

  • I Love Annette!

In 7th Grade we saw the film, 'The Musketeers Visit a Dairy Farm.' Everytime it came to the scene of Annette milking a cow poor Mr. Moore had to stop the film - the symbolism was just too much for us boys and we all sort of collectively lost it!

  • i ♥ this song.

  • I want his song played at my funeral.

  • Very nice, thank you. I miss those days - and Hawaii, too.

  • Great job!

  • Cool Cult Clip..
