Kelly's good, but her high notes are not. Went through everything she recorded and didn't download anything except "If No One Will Listen." Funny, actually. She's basically a johnnie-one-note singer - can belt it out, but that's about it.
I think Kelly is a better singer overall. Its true, many female singers can reach her G5 range etc. but the point is kelly does it again and again and again. Others cannot not vocally stay or sing like she always does. Kelly FTW! =)

Adams C5 & C#5 were so much better than kellys . I think that In the clips off Kelly the sound quality were not good so all the notes I think Adam sounded so much better & Kelly had trouble hitting the note .

Anyone seen the movie Crossroads? The kid that starred in 1st Karate Kid movie Ralph M. Anyway it's about a blues singer that sold his soul to the devil for a successful singing career. Watch the end when the Karate Kid has to do a play off against a rock guitarist (famous name) the key here is that the kid had been classically trained & rock guitarist had not. Guess who wins. It's a classic movie and Adam related.

Anyone seen the movie Crossroads? The kid that starred in 1st Karate Kid movie Ralph M. Anyway it's about a blues singer that sold his soul to the devil for a successful singing career. Watch the end when the Karate Kid has to do a play off against a rock guitarist (famous name) the key here is that the kid had been classically trained & rock guitarist had not. Guess who wins. It's a classic movie and Adam related.

What's stupid is how people are saying that Kelly is more successful, of course she is, she's been famous for years now. Adam is only almost 2 years into his career, wait awhile he's gonna be waaay above Kelly, but no offense to her because she was my fave singer until Adam came along.

I'm not expecting a better voice than Lambert's in my lifetime. (I'm middle-aged, for those who might wonder.) Besides his God-given vocal perfection, he has the -- yes, and I am all for it -- theatrical feel for every song he decides to sing. He has the kind of vision, in the performing arts, that got men to the moon in the scientific world.
Thank you for sharing your clever take on the comparison thing. Kelly is wonderful, but no one can hope to compare to Adam. :)

Adam clearly wins here. You people that are saying that Adam is screaming his notes are freak'n pitch and tone deaf, and most of y'all just don't like him because of his sexual orientation. Kelly isn't bad, but on a technical level Adam blows her out of the water. Kelly didn't really hit A5 and Bb5 (the last two notes...they were out of her range.) However, with all that being said being the better skilled vocalist will not sell records.

It's so funny because everyone is saying something different. They are both amazing! I think something is different because Kelly was the first American Idol. Here in the Netherlands the final two of the first season are still very popular. The ones who are winning now... Well, no one remembers them. No offense to Kelly, just saying. well there is a big difference in the 2 kelly belts those notes nd adam using a technique called head voice which makes it easier to hit those higher notes but they are not belted chest notes still impressive but kelly wins the belt for me

Kelly owns the G5s thats for sure nobody beats her in belting those.
But adam impresses me for sure, a range like that for a guy man.
I just dont like his voice i find it pretty annoying and it just seems like hes showing off his vocals everytime rather than fitting the belts into his songs in a good way like kelly does.
They're both great but when it comes to singing kelly wins because she can sing anything and make it sound amazing.

Whoever said that Kelly wins is definitely basing it on who they like and don't like. I am a huge Adam fan, yes but I don't judge on who I like I judge on whose the best and Adam definitely won by far. Both are great singers but Adam has a better range and can hit those notes a lot easier and sound more clear then Kelly. But hey whatever creams your twinkie.

They're both impressive, Adam obviously being male and being able to hit those high notes is very impressive. Kelly, if you've seen videos of hers with the correct notes, also has a very impressive range for being a female. Seeing as you're comparing a male with a female, it's hard to vote which is the better vocalist since your gender plays a role with your vocals. All fans are being bias here.

The thing that's crazy is Adam could hold out the real high ones and Kelly couldn't.... It was just one little note at the top of a scale she did. While Adam did do scales, he made sure he had enough to hold out that last note...
