The initial idea was good - in the aftermath of the war with the Alliance, Vince lost control over his own company, had a breakdown and decided to use the nWo - the men who destroyed the old WCW - to annihilate the WWE.

Having the nWo be those scary company-killing larger-than-life motherfuckers was cool as an initial idea. They shouldn't have turned Hogan face, should have started recruiting members to show the gangrene effect, until finally it all came to an end in an epic WWE vs nWo clash.
