@hindsighter backstage footage confirms he was off his face, falling asleep during an interview, completely incoherent when he was awake. The performance itself I don't think is bad at all, I like the arrangement of the song, and the fact that he was too stoned to remove all the face pack off his face just looks like it was on purpose, It's a look you'd expect him to come up with even when sober. But the backstage video is really sad to watch - glad he made it passed that stage.

This was sad to see, when I saw this the first time. I am so glad that he is off drugs. My husband use to do drugs, and even sniffed heroin. He would be in a sleep stupper. Many times I wanted to leave him, and kept coming back to him, and praying he would get off drugs. I Prayed and prayed, as I'm sure those that loved Boy George did for him, and God bless my husband to get off drugs. I pray that God continues to bless George too.

I always thought that back then it was just heroin, and not cocaine as well. But, who knows...he probably had to take cocaine to counter act the effects of the heroin just to make it on the frigon stage.

@kim101011970 that would be the way to do it. or speed. heroin takes you away from everything, kills your consciousness... cant do anything other than sleep, you just wanna lie down and sleep for an eternity. not sure if heroin itself gives you that euphoria that vicodins and oxycontins do, but those also make you nod off if you take many of them.

what a sham. he was so talanted and still is. its horrable to see our much loved georgie like that. he is so talanted. luckly he pulled thought drugs twice and both times he came around to his senses. i luv the look tho. but hes so skinky in this vid. its terrable. as soon a i saw this i started crying :'( george is to much of a icon to lose. so meany people look up to him and luv him. he needs to no that no matter what happens we will all ways luv him.

georgegiely, George was not sick in this video, rather, he was soooo high on drugs. Watch "The Madness of Boy George" and you will see portions of this clip which shows George's left cheek and ear covered with Cocaine. During this era, George spends 800 British Pounds a day for his drug habit. He was tehn called "Junkie George".
