  • Yeah, it seems to basically function as a giant sign that says "Eatin's great here!!" XD

The heron pecks at it and thinks, "This guy is a real stiff!"

  • Funny video indeed! If you can, please record more videos like this.

  • i have had a great blue heron fly over me in full wing span it was really cool it was also low

  • I saw one during my Terry fox run yesterday

I also saw one on my roof the day before.

  • i am a heron i ahev a long neck and i pick fish out of the water w/ my beak if you dont repost this comment on 10 other videos i will fly into your kitchen tonight and make a mess of your pots and pans

  • Heyy kathass your an ass! The great blue Heron is the shit, it can live where ever the fuck it wants. Dont fucking put these shits on your pond ive seen blue herons rape these types of decoys. Piss Off!

  • @NOTORIOUSFLSHER Triston!!!!!! your so gay lol

  • Looks like a dinosaur!!! Lovely.

  • I love this, I need to get one for my kayak so I can get better photos. Too funny!

  • They are solitary fishers, so only one at a time fishes. They also use their old nest as a "perch"; OMG...Maybe they are raising another baby-bird. The big guy managed to get my largest gold fish a few months ago; almost two feet in size. I was sick about it and wish I had not seen him grab it. So far the fish reproduce faster than the heron's can catch them so I am ahead of this game...

  • It's outta control around here. The blue heron seen on that video from several years ago invited a female to my pond, and they had a baby last year. Their nest is adjacent to my property line in a tall fir tree and they can spy on pond activity and can tell if I am out there. They can't see fish due to the berm that runs around the pond but they do know I will chase them off.

  • I think you should start a great blue heron colony! :)

  • that was great kathy... ahhahahaha LOVE the night and blue and white herons... look up BLUE HERON TOTEM on google, as soon as you master that, then he will not return : )

  • This is excellent lol

  • Count your blessings! I had a nesting pair of herons last year. I had Daddy Heron, Mama Heron and then Baby Heron. I have not seen one goldfish which makes me sad. NOTHING!!! I think the only way to avoid them is move to an area that does not have Great Blue Heron. Or else stock food for them...

  • I guess you didn't figure a way to keep them from showing up. I wish you did I stocked my farm pond with hundreds of fish and they had hundreds of baby last spring and one Heron clean me out .I wish I knew away to keep them from showing up

  • Hi T Bone...Yes, I know the feeling of losing my big, gorgeous goldfish. If the pond was small, I would maybe put a net across the top. All my fish started off as 10 cent feeder fish, but after 6 years they have grown. Yes, part of the food chain...

  • Today I got up to see a heron by my pond. All but two of my beautiful gold fish were gone. One was 10 inches long. Oh well what are you going to do, I guess its all part of the food chain. I would never hurt one of the herons, but I hate to loose my wonderful gold fish. =(

  • Yes, they gobble up fish very quickly...Kathy

  • @kathylynndean i fucking hate your life!

  • My farm has a ditch running down the center that is visited by heron's daily.

My friend has a house on the hill overlooking my farm.

Steve & Deb had Koi in a pond there, and they were going missing.

One day I drove up the hill past there house and saw a heron perched on their roof.

    The mystery was solved.

  • Ahahah I enjoyed that

  • you sound like one incredibly sarcastic bitch! Most annoying voive I've ever heard!

  • Go snipe them.

  • @gartini That's exactly what i thought!

  • i had a huge trout and a blue herion killed it

  • Great Video. Me and my grandson have laughed over this video so much. You have a great sense of humor!!!

  • @tunewriter41 You are so sweet to say that. I like knowing that people laugh at it. I still crack up anytime I watch it. I have a family of three herons feeding at my pond this year. Mommy, Daddy and Baby; they nested on my property. They all fight if more than one fishes at the same time, and it's quite a sight. Loud sounds and wings, necks and legs. I have not yet been able to catch it on tape,,,

  • This is good!! Your sense of humor is so funny!! Good luck with your pretty birdies!

  • I love this video. A couple of weeks ago we had a heron by our pond , which is a lot smaller than yours. He ate 5 of our fish! 2 goldfish and 3 small koi. The decoy's are only supposed to work when it' NOT mating season but many koi keepers are doubtful that they work at all. Thanks for posting. :) ~Julie

  • very elegant birds, much more elegant than humans. great herons are so beautiful and graceful! :)

  • That is pretty funny!!

We had a decoy as well, and our Heron tried to knock him over!!

    : O

  • haha...I love Herons..you are lucky to have such a grat view from your window!

  • I laughed.....good video. I have all those birds around here as well. It is a ongoing battle!

  • why would you want to keep the Heron away? I'd do anything to have them strolling through my backyard. they're gorgeous.

  • Well, if you can't see the humor in my video, then I don't know what to say to you...

  • @raymontmasse Well when you have a pond stocked with 50-100 dollar import koi I'd imagine you wouldn't want a heron in your backyard eating up your money.

  • @raymontmasse If you invested a lot of time in money into your pond and fish you wouldn't want a big bird coming along and eating up your wet pets. Our pond is netted now.

  • I Like Your Colman Lantern Fish Feeder.

  • Very elegant birds!

  • your decoy is a lady

  • I still can't watch that without laughing it's so stupid. Isn't the male gorgeous? He is over four feet tall, too. I also get Kingfisher and Osprey...

  • This is too funny :-)

And also nice to see the heron so close

  • Looks like he wants to mate, not scared, he's ready to maka the luv, LOL but I just love the great blue heron and miss Florida and pray I get to live there again to see all the great wildlife again.

  • i was thinking that before i saw the other one show up. It seems like it would attract them rather than scare them away. I mean, that is what you use duck decoys for. I have a heron that lives right outside my house with a broken leg. I go catch him small fish and feed him.

  • HHHAAAAHAHAHAH

oh thank you for that... just hilarious

  • Thanks so much; it cracks me up too. It's just so stupid! I have lots of great video; just need to upload it...Takes time...K.
