  • So....god has a penis?

  • Drumrnva, did you hear anybody in this video say that God has a penis?

  • sounds like they're arguing about the number of supernatural transcendent dice in a jar

  • Taylor, can you please explain what you mean by that?

  • @RAIDERJO76

We have some knowledge of physical dice. Even if we dont know how many dice are in a jar, guessing less than 20 is better than guessing 3,000.

But we have no knowledge of supernatural transcendent dice, so a guess of 20 is just as valid as a guess of 3,000.

They're arguing about whether a guess of 20 is better or worse than a guess of 3,000 when talking about a supernatural transcendent god.

  • Well I'm sorry Taylor, but that simply isn't true, since both Slick and Young are drawing from a common authority when it comes to what they believe about this God; the idea that both are just proposing random, subjective ideas just isn't the case.

    Now, are you an atheist?

  • Lame! I cannot stand these modern day Pharasees that try and debunk good things that are positive like the Shack! This book is allowing people who will never step into a church see God as a loving God, which he is, instead of a angry God that these people teach. Slick you are an idiot!

  • Jcmjoe, so is love the only attribute of God then? And what, I ask, is more important, what is "positive," or what is true?

  • I'm not jcmjoe... but I like the question

What is better... what makes you happy? or truth?

    I would say Truth...

    I am an atheist.

  • Yeah, I would definitely agree, even though I'm a Christian haha. So just so I know for further discussion, are you a strong atheist or a weak atheist?

  • I would use nostic/agnostic instead of strong/weak... but tomato tomato... lol

    I'm weak

  • Oh okay, so may I ask why you are? Sorry, I just like seeing why people embrace the worldviews they embrace...

  • I was a christian untill I was 23... It began at 21 after hearing a pastor tell a little girl (making a long story short)... that she wouldn't see her grandma if she didn't accept jesus.. and she would go to hell.

That didn't turn me away from christianity.. it just sparked my questioning... then over time... I changed my mind... but I'm still open to anything.

I'm pretty decided against christianity though...

  • Can I ask why that is?

  • Jesus was God made manifest in the flesh I john 1:1 & 1:14 I say let God set it in order when he comes

  • Slick argues male female although he just got done saying that the God is a spirit.....unbelievable how chauvenistic Slick is ....that he HAS to have a MALE God. He doesn't believe that God could be so much bigger than a Earthly living being.

  • So because Slick wants us to talk about God the way He has revealed Himself to us, he is chauvenistic? You're an idiot, Mike; I don't care if you dislike the Word of God, but it says what it says. God has revealed Himself the way He has revealed Himself, whether you like it or not.

  • The " Word of God" the way HUMANS have interpreted the word of GOD. You really want to call me names? Is that Christlike ?

  • Ummm yes actually do "hypocrite" and "brood of vipers" ring any bells?

Mike, are you suggesting that there is no correct interpretation of the Word of God? Does the existence of more than one interpretations prove that there is no correct interpretation? Of course not! Especially when some interpretations are clearly derived to fit the man-centered worldview of the interpreter rather than a humble submission to the Word of God.

  • Why did you call him an idiot? The Bible says that God IS spirit and NOT a MAN that he should lie. I imagine that God prefers to be referred to as "father" simply because he always knew that he was going to impregnate Mary so that she could give birth to Jesus. Jesus calls God "Father" for this reason, because he is literally his father. Matt Slick is actually suggesting God is some guy in the sky, with a penis, like a male, Pagan deity has a penis. This is NOT what the Bible says about God.

  • lluvanonymous, you have misunderstood Slick. I am a long time listener of his show and viewer of his website, and I know for a fact that he does not teach that the Father has a Spirit.

And I hope I don't sound like too much of a jerk, but I don't really care what you'd like to "imagine" about the Bible.

  • That is a good point though.

Why would "GOD" need a penis?

  • Haha. Did you not read my comment? No one here is saying that God the Father has a penis.

  • The discussion is about "GOD" being a male right?

  • Again, no one is saying that the Father is physically a male. He has revealed Himself as FATHER, not mother. However, this does NOT mean, nor does anyone say it means, that God the Father is literally a man with a penis, since Scripture is clear that God the Father is Spirit.

  • Jesus was God made manifest in the flesh I john 1:1 & 1:14 I say let God set it in order when he comes I john The deciples tell ask Jesus shew us the father. Jesus said he that hath seen me hath seen the father so how sayest thou then show us the father? Jesus was God made manifest in the flesh.

  • Matt Slick is such an idiot

  • I like Matt Slick, the real problem with the book the shack is not so much the book itself, but that many christians are starting to see it as though its not fiction, and I know some that are, and basing their theology about the trinity off of it, and thats dangerous. I like the left behingd books, but I would never base my theology or my eschatology off of them, even though i do believe in the rapture

  • Haha, why do you say that?

  • I apologize for my comment. It was very "trollish" of me... haha

Although I still feel that way.. It was a mean comment with no backing.

I like his method of asking questions... Just repeat the same question over and over (even if the person you are asking doesn't understand what you are asking) untill you get an answer that you want

  • Well it's been close to a year or so probably since I've last listened to this, so I'm not sure what question exactly you're referring to... Is it the part where he asks Young if the Father was crucified?

  • Yeah.

  • Well then what do you mean Young didn't understand the question? My dog can understand the question, what's so confusing about it?

  • That book is an awesome book! God bless you, Mr. Young.

  • In Listening to Mr. Young, it is apparent he lacks any knowledge of God's word.

  • "Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?" (Galatians 4:16)

  • Matt Slick was exposed as a liar and a fraudster on the Atheist Experience TV show a few weeks ago. You can find these videos of here on youtube. He is hiding under his mother's dress right now and trying to figure out how to go about damage control.

  • Fatfist, Slick is in hiding? Hmmm, that's interesting, since he has that video here on Youtube inviting atheists like yourself to call his radio show...

Fatfist, I saw Matt Slick's debate on the Atheist Experience and frankly, I have no idea what you're talking about. Now if you say that Matt Slick lost, although I would disagree with you, that would be one thing. It's another thing, however, to say that he was "exposed as a liear and a fraudster" simply because you disagreed withhisposition.

  • When the Christian community allowed Mel Gibson to CREATE dialogue for Jesus Christ in his "Passion," how could we expect the Christian community to reject this fictional book?

  • Lol good point...

  • Thanks,

Just to be clear, I think the "Shack" is an atrocious work but I wish the same standards of judgment were applied to all the other heretical works, books and movies, that the Christian community is fed in the "Family" market place.

    Through His Blood,

    Jim

  • Yeah, many, I'm definitely in agreement.

  • I, as a Christian, was appalled by the creative license used in "The Passion of the Christ" and have rejected it entirely after researching the sources Gibson used (including Catholic mystics).

And, I am equally as appalled at "The Shack" for the same reasons - its sources are Universalism, Relativism and Humanism which contradict the holy Word of God.

  • Amen!
