WTF? Most fighters make a 6 figure income and thats only taking a few fights a year tops. They train and are involved in publicity for the rest of it. There are those who are in it for the $ and the fame (cough: Ortiz) and then there are those who are in it for the passion of the sport and to win.

When UFC gets as much publicity and backing as the NFL or MLB, maybe then they can pay their fighters multi-millions. Until then, a good 6 figure income is PLENTY of money.

They signed deals which included deals of 100 million dollars over a three year period. The avarage cashflow income of the UFC is just so and so and so much more higher then they pay their fighters... They can pay them much more then they do now. As I see it, the UFC's biggest cost should be their fighters. But they pay more for beer each night then all fighters combined.

Yeah. Couture made only 250.000 dollars per fight on avarage which is one of the reasons why he left. Granted, 250.000 isn't a low number, but apperently compared to what the UFC makes in that ppv fight; he says it's 'insulting'. He also left off course because he wanted to fight Fedor and the UFC offered Fedor apperently a huge number TIMES what Couture made. Which insulted him even further and when Fedor declined because he thought the UFC were greedy, Couture left cause he'd only fight Fedor.

There really isn't too many places Tito could go and make great money. I'd say Affliction is the best bet. Tito caught a raw deal on the pay scale because basically when he was a top tier fighter the UFC wasn't as popular as it is now. Fighters now are making more than ever and it's still not a lot if you consider what they do but with advertisers and what not there pay scale is just the tip of the iceberg. If there any good that is.

Dave Menne, Jens Pulver, BJ Penn have also all had issues with Dana White, when they were at their peak. Frank Shamrock left as Champ, Couture is leaving with the belt etc. All the champs who are the face of the UFC and are doing all the hard work promoting the sport are getting paid a small fraction of what they generate for Dana. That is unfair, no matter how you look at it. Some guys try and change this structure from within, some guys leave, but in the end, the problem still exists.
