Some of the comments I read on this made me so unbelievably angry, especially the ones about this being nothing but a "label" white parents use when their kids don't behave. My 16 year old younger sister is autistic and she has the most horrible tantrums ever. If by chance she actually understood how strong she was, she could do even more damage than she's capable of at the moment. And we're black. This condition is everywhere; it knows no one color. For people to think otherwise makes me sick.
@polkadotpants really, id like to see that happen. your probably some lonely ass teen mother. and cry's everyday couse your kids autistic. come up to me and try that
@ice1515151 I'd be more than happy to give you a demonstration, you just don't want to get owned by a girl - by the way 26 isn't teenage, it's 'cries' and 'cause', and the only one that would be doing any crying is you, sort your grammar out and grow some balls instead of picking on girls cos you think they're an easy target.
same as my 4 year old. recently he is showing such behavior. he screams at the top of his lungs for no reason...hes happy now and suddenly he has meldown later. i know how u feel...how old is you baby now? hows is he behaving? did he outgrow such behavior? i need help too.
Don't worry polkadotpants, not all people from the state of Colorado or the US are as backward, or lacking in intelligence as the inbred, cousin fucking redneck CK26. I was born and raised in Colorado, joined the army, deployed to Afghanistan, and returned home safely ALL WHILE KNOWING THAT I HAVE ASPERGER'S SYNDROME. You are a courageous mum, and I applaud you for having such patience with your son. Just hang in there and don't let pricks like the ones below get to you.
I am proud of you - a strong wise mum who is willing to open the doors to other mums who close themselves in with their struggles! We need you! Thank you! We are not alone in this!
On another note - he seems to like the texture of power cables aye, his choice of thing to push and pull at! does he know they come in different colors - how cool!
I love how his baby sister is so familiar with Dominics screams she continues watching tv! xxoo
I think my friend has an autistic daughter. She has meltdowns like this multiple times a day to the point where she will just finally fall asleep. She does not like to leave her house and small things like a piece of food she wants or does not want makes her go ballistic. She will hit and kick and spit. She gets her mind set on something and completely implodes.
I understand what you are going though my son in now 11 yrs old and is 5 ft and 108 pounds and still goes though it. I have been trying different meds schools etc... It is one of the hardest things to watch and this happen to your child. I hope and pray for son gets the help he needs and you will not go though what I am with an 11 yr old. Just know their are other mom out there like you. Other mom and people (without kids) will NEVER understand us.
@ColoradoKing26 It's way more than just tantrums you heaving tit, do you have a brain cell in that neanderthall 'brain'? If this was the only problem he had I would have thought he was a brat, the fact he couldn't talk, was unable to toilet train or walk withouth flapping, rocking, throwing his body around and eventually needed a wheelchair just so we could go shopping led me to look for a diagnosis, and if you don't like it, well you can kiss my arse. Don't tell mummy a thing on her child.
All that shit is psychological. The boy is a fucking brat, and throws fucking temper tantrums. Also to correct you, it is called "MOM" not 'mum' i take it you not from the united states? Yeah explains it.
@ColoradoKing26 Just because where you come from it's mom doesn't make it a hard rule for everyone else, same as just cos I was taught to say mum doesn't mean everyone else should say it like that, but that's just your dumbass attitude, I don't understand it so it must be wrong. You can say it's psychological from experience can you? Have you been through any of those problems because I was born with it and a major part of it is physical, like affecting hearing vision and touch sensitivity
@polkadotpants he's been assessed mentally more times than I can remember and every time they tell me he's still a toddler, he's 6 now and has to go to a hospital school and talk using a combination of simple words, sign and pictures, and he's still in nappies and the wheelchair. But I'm guessing he has to be lay back in a chair with his eyes rolling back in his head, drooling down himself and trying to bite his ear for an uneducated prick like you to recognise something isn't right
@ColoradoKing26 Did you hear any of what I said? He has been diagnosed by several experts as autistic and mentally retarded, the meltdowns are just one aspect of the issue - and just so you don't keep making yourself look like even more of an ass, it's neurological, meaning his brain is literally wired differently, a large part of his tantrums that I didn't know until I had him tested was how loud he hears everything, you'd fuss too if you had to deal with that day in day out.
@fraroc Retardation is a medical word, google it. It was only after some idiots started using it as an insult did the medical field start to feel it might be 'politically incorrect' and instead now call it a bunch of other stuff that doesn't describe the problem enough, for the record his mental age is years lower than his actual age, mental retardation. You might not like the word but that's what it is medically. The clue is in the context it's used in, was it said as an insult or descriptive?
@ColoradoKing26 its B I O L O G I C A L, retard, they pump so much poison into our lives now that peoples brains are going to shit in record numbers, why are you even at this video? and the other 80,000 plus views? because its hit you too
@ColoradoKing26 yea theres definetly a difference between americans and brits. the brits at least are half joking when they claim to be better, americans actually mean it when theyre boastfull of themselves. at the least the americans never bore you with their arrogance and dimwittedness.
If I didn't have the same thing I would have probably grown up thinking that myself. You have no idea how scary and overwhelming the world is at the slightest change in routine, because your brain is 'normal'. If sounds could physically hurt you and you spent half the day not knowing wether you were coming or going you might lash out in frustration too.
omg my firends little bro is autistic and has melt downs and had to be put in pullups since the melt down was so bad hed have acidents. once he even pulled down a mini chandaleer
I have a child who autistic behaviors took place at 18 mos. At 30 mos. I started to give him therapy with Bach Flowers, (natural) and helped a lot vanishing his fears, tantrums and the lack of attention. He improved his communication skills too. He is 6 now, he still does the flapping hands at times. I´m amaized how he is doing now.
My heart breaks for him and you. I have no children by choice and children are a bit of mystery to me. A child with such a hard time relating to his surroundings...well...I wish you both the best.
WOW, that is something else to watch. I could not even comprehend going through what you all live through on a daily basis. These kids are supposed to be reading books or playing with stuffed animals. Do they have any idea what causes this? Something during pregnancy, chemicals in the carpet, I mean there has to be something that caused this. Why are more and more kids being diagnosed with Autism? Sorry for all the questions but I just can't help but wonder why this happens. God Bless
@RealEstateMan1998 I'd rather be asked a million questions than get one dirty look, my purpose here is to educate and raise awareness. It's a very difficult thing to explain, there are different types and severities of autism and to date nobody can pinpoint a single cause; it can be sporadic or genetic, a result of brain damage from an accident and another theory is possible toxins, I can deal with tantrums and a smashed up home, but not having answers is the hardest thing for me
I'm not biting anyone heads off here? Unable to take these sort of comments / suggestions perhaps? If his condition is taken by an angle also included by prescribed drugs, and your not my aforementioned extremist types of 'no drugs' parents, then all is OK!! I never said you was a bad parent, or was doing things wrong!!
@Ben63549@Ben63549 Somehow it's hard to laugh at a joke based on my little boy, and people say us with autism have problems with empathy.... to be honest what kind of person makes a joke on a video like this anyway?
Just so you know, one of the problems that comes with aspergers is not always getting a joke and taking things literally, if you're gonna make a comment on an aspie's channel you should be aware of that. It's no easy thing to live with and yes, the comments are sometimes hurtful.
@Ben63549 I expect people to at least show some humility and understand what a hard thing posting this was to do on my part, be grateful that someone has taken it on themselves to do something very hard in the name of sharing experience, educating and raising awareness; ideally. I'm aware that's impossible, so many people are just plain mean about it - but, every so often I get a private message from one of the abusive ones, apologising and wishing us luck. If I can educate one, my work is done
No it's the difference between an idealist parent and a realist parent. Anyone who thinks they can fight an established physical chemical problem through psychological means alone (with the whole 'no drugs' approach) has got to be kidding themselves.
@Ben63549 If you're quite finished biting my head off I'll point out that at no point did I say 'use any drug whatsoever and you're lazy', what I did protest to is the suggestion of a huge dose of sedative, big difference.
I'm sorry that some people have commented ignorant stuff. Remember that they're saying it because they're uneducated and low class. YOU know. You're a great mom.
@minequeen1 Thankyou for your kindness - if any of those people lived just one of of our days they'd be tripping over each other to apologise; people like that I wouldn't piss on if they were on fire. It's nice to meet you; is Harrison your little boy? He looks so cheeky and adorable, especially with his lovely red hair
@Ben63549 Who drugs their kids upto the eyeballs like that just for a bit of peace? Parenting isn't easy, sometimes it involves getting your hands dirty and dealing with things the hard way, but that's the difference between a hardworking parent and a lazy one.
Another reason why asspies should be locked away from normal society. First, aspies are born, they won't stop fucking screaming, shouting, bitching, moaning, and whining, they don't know how to speak, they can't make friends, they are interested in shit no one cares about or even likes anymore, they suck at making friends, they suck at getting a fine job, and they can't go to college because they're aspies! And the people that said aspies were intelligent were the same people who created weed.
@AntiDomingo0022 How much research have you done into aspergers? I am assuming none considering what you have written.
You obviously have no life and just post comments like this to see how many 'bites' you get.
I almost feel guilty indulging you but as a mother of an asd child who has done extensive research into the topic, I have to say that you are a d**khead and you need to find a new hobby that is not so nasty.
@Samprokid When you laugh at somebody for having a big head and compare them to a character with a huge one and laugh, sorry but you're making fun. I do know what a joke is, but do you honestly expect me to laugh at my son and his disabilities? I shouldn't care about comments, but people laughing at my child of course it hurts.
@Samprokid Ummm LMAO sorry i gotta say this but you're making fun of a 6 year old boy who has a physical defect because of his disabilities, does that make you feel big and clever? You said on you're profile 'im not really Good looking but dont Be Mean Okay', and look what you're doing, well i hope you're proud of yourself
@polkadotpants im not really making fun off him please do so and ask your friends what a joke is and ALSO. i know i am not that good looking do i care you shouldnt care for other people Comments
My heart goes out to you and your son. Don't listen to people who make negative comments. They have no idea what its like to live your life and have no place whatsoever to judge. It must be heartwrenching not to be able to simply pick your baby up and comfort him when he cries. I think you're very brave for posting this.
I 'm SORRY but the more I watch this THE ONLY PROBLEM I SEE IS YOU!!!!! You are doing everything you know bothers him on purpose. And your whinny voice is irritating me so it MUST be irritating him.POOR KID. Instead of trying to give him a disorder take a look in a mirror and watch a few SUPERNANNY episodes oh yeah and try some things he likes to do.
@CK1LG3 I started filming after those things set him off, to show his doctor what I have to deal with daily, not followed him around bugging him til he got pissed you tit.
I made eye contact accidentally, not beat him with a belt so stop talking to me as if you just witnessed full scale child abuse. Oh yeah, read the description.
@CK1LG3 I can see how you would think that...but having a kid that does this stuff too, nothing is predictable. When you get sick of it, and have to take them to a shrink, the shrink wants to SEE what goes on, so you're usually TOLD to tape your kids flipping out. For me, I just kept the camera stationary in the corner of the room though cause my son hates the camera and flips worse.
You say hes upset cuz his breakfast is late....PUT THE CAmera down and get him some food YOU ARE HIS ONLY PROBLEM why didnt u put it in the right order
@CK1LG3 It was 6.30 am, I'd had barely 2 hours sleep constantly being woke up and his breakfast was not late, I just put the spoon down before the bowl not even thinking, I'm fucking human, let's see how well you remember the order of such petty things when you're sleep deprived for a few weeks.
wow watching this is like watching my 3 yr old son dyllan i have this every day his breakfast isnt right, its not his cars spoon, he hasnt got the right seat. oh and dont dare move that toy ive left there. he hardly speaks we get yes no answers and occasional momma he really is trying to talk at the moment he goes to morning nursery and he gets on really well but the teachers are brill with him we have been told he is a very clever little boy it is very hard i dont know if your son does this bu
@XxXmadchickenXxX No. I laughed at this too and I myself have Asperger's Syndrome (part of ASD). If I ever threw a tantrum of that type while I was growing up I would have either been grounded, spanked, or both.
More people need to actually punish their kids. I'll just leave it at that.
@polkadotpants Well, it appears that being an "inconsiderate, narrow minded cunt" did some good to me as it effectively taught me to take responsibility for my actions perhaps way more effectively than repeating "stop. don't do that. cut it out.". Do you really think that does anything? That's why more kids this time around are stuck up, rude, and don't ever care.
@DaltonMan321 perhaps your parents didn't fully understand and reverted to physical punishment. However, I don't believe it did you any good...do you think? Corpal punishment, such as you experience, is by far not the best type of punishment.
@XxXmadchickenXxX WHAT IF YOU WOKE UP WITH AUTISM!! how would you feel if u had autismm retard! never ever make fun of people with disabilities! thats just plain rude and that will give u a one way ticket to heck if i u keep it! U AUTA ME ASHAMED!!! >:O
@XxXmadchickenXxX WHAT IF YOU WOKE UP WITH AUTISM DUDE!!! THEN HOW WOULD YOU FEEL!!! LAUGHING ISNT HE PROBLEM TO SOLVING FREKIN TANTRUMS!!!! U AUTA BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!!! >:O
i'm on the spectrum too, and had to stop watching. i'm right now 39 seconds into it and crying like a baby lol. i know it's all about breakfast but i don't know i feel what he feels. and they say we have no empathy....i'm calmer now. can't believe how strongly this made me react. i've felt like this...but i had never seen it in other people. good on you for remaining so calm with him. good mother skills there :)
thank you for sharing :) You are very calm with him - well done. Perhaps you could have asked him to come 'show' you or 'help' you make it right. This is obviously a very stressful thing for him. Once you have it right....make a picture card of the correct way and use this on his picture wall....you have one right??
@TheTracyPaul people have said they don't know how I stay calm but I'm on the spectrum too and when I was his age that's what I needed, as much as I hate being like this I'm grateful it gives me some insight. The way I spoke in this video is how his doctor instructed me to see how he'd react if I spoke to him as a 'normal' child. He's since learned to talk much better, I teach him sign and work with PECS with him...
@polkadotpants by the time anybody listened to me and he was assigned a speech therapist I'd already done it by myself, 2 appointments in 6 years and both times they said I'd already done everything they do with kids like him. I still feel bitter about it sometimes but I'm just grateful he can communicate better now.
How can a Dr. Tell you what you need to do when you only write on there, this is when I gave him eye contact.. Show how you approached him, Show that he was okay to begin with, and show his reaction to you doing so.. Only then can the Dr. Show you the correct steps.
I dunno.. We see his reaction, but we only see typed words as to what he was reacting to. Would have liked to see what you were doing, not just the words that you typed u were doing. When he is already in outburst mode, obviously talking and following him around with the camera only worsens the outbursts..
My son is asd as well. When I video tape him, I video tape my interactions with him before the ourburst, the whole thing.. Only makes sense to me..
@emeralz1 This was filmed on a phone by myself, it would have been difficult, although I agree it would have been useful to show the build up leading to the tantrum I'm sure you know as well as I do that a tantrum can come on by total surprise, I didn't plan the tantrums or deliberately create the environment for them to happen in, it was pretty much a case of him going from happy and placid then bam, these videos are just what I could catch and they seemed to be enough for diagnosis
@polkadotpants And just so you know social services already came and made an assessment, they decided I was doing everything they would normally suggest and beyond by myself then promptly closed our file.
@polkadotpants@jenbrown007 doesn't always mean lack of understanding and I know that personally because I happen to be autistic myself and was the same at his age, I understood everything, I wasn't dumb and neither is my son - I understood better than you can even comprehend, but my words just wouldn't come.
are you sad? whats up? he cant verbally communicate so dont waste time verbally communicating . He has ASD. He s trying to make sense of his world by having his cars in a certain order. you mess them up he's gonna get upset. He needs routine and NO VERBAL interferrence. use short one word phrases, he cant speak so no use talking to him, he cant process what you are on about ! he needs pictures to help him communicate search PECS and please get expert help from SS.
@jenbrown007 totally agree - i see that this parent needs help to communicate with her son. He speaks a different language than the spoken word. He needs picture cards to communicate. Talk to an expert Mum...he's in there. You will be amazed at how much he has to say...without words.
@TheTracyPaul Thanks for the assumptions but I don't need help. This was a 2-3 years ago and he can now speak as well as any other 6 year old thanks to my refusal to give up on him, as I said in my last reply he has PECS, schedules and uses some sign. By the way Jen, when I was little some people thought I was such a retard they'd talk about be bluntly right infront of me, and I heard and understood every single word and it hurt. Some kids might not understand, but some do, don't assume.
I can't believe comments by msLadygroove and her ilk. I'm sure you are probably a well meaning soul, but you're an imbecile. This is an AUTISTIC MELTDOWN. This is NOT a "neuro-typical" child, it isn't about attention. His brain has literally "melted down" and he is having a psychotic episode and there is very little a parent or anyone else can do. We have a three year old autistic child and these episodes last for up to 25 to 30 minutes. People with "normal" kids have no idea how lucky you are.
I have a 6 yr old autistic son and I know exactly how hard it can be sometimes. Meltdowns are terrible and not only drain you emotionally, but physically as well. God bless you, your son, and your family.
@EdLovesAllie I do actually have a learning disability so yeah kinda....and I am on the spectrum so I guess you're right on those two, but beat me? Bitch please! I'd wipe the floor with your ass, walk you on a leash and have you lick my boots clean; the moral of the story? It's better to be a retarded autistic than be a retarded autistic's bitch :)
@EdLovesAllie When someone has a disability and you are calling them a retard what does that make you???? and the fact that you want to beat her????? Grow the fuck up!!!
My 10 year old has Aspergers Syndrome as well, and I feel your pain and frustration!
It is very hard for others who do not live this life, to understand what it is like. It is beyond frustrating for the children, parents and siblings in the home. I had many family members refuse to believe there was anything "wrong " with my son, and just chalked it up to "he's just a boy". Finally after taking him to 3 different childrens specialists, ALL 3 said the same thing...he has ASD! Hug to you!
You should have sat him at the table and made him endure eating his breakfast in the wrong order explaining that it is ok to eat it in a different order... you gave too much attention to this behaviour which is what he was seeking.. attention.
Endure? Am I supposed to shovel it in while he cries and screams? I did explain it was ok to have it in the wrong order but it doesn't make any difference, when you have autism and your routine is changed even a little can feel like the end of the world, I know that myself because I'm on the spectrum. Yes he's capable of acting up and attention seeking like any kid but in the tantrums in this video he is genuinely distressed, when you have a meltdown like that last thing you want is attention.
My son has PDD-NOS and we have noticed with him that deep pressure really works and calms him down......have you tried this?? If my 3yr old starts to get alittle to hyper my husband or I will squeeze his hips not enough to hurt him but quite firm and it calms him right down.......or a full body pressure where you sit on the floor with your legs straight out and sit him between your legs againts your belly and kinda of wrap him up with you this works very well also. :)
My boy is 8 now. He still can have a violent meltdown once in a while, but they do subside with age. It is difficult to have others watch him, as they do not know his "triggers". When you start to give the list of possible scenarios, the sitter often has a blank look lol.
I have a four year old autistic son who used to throw tantrums that lasted for an hour . Just repeatitive screaming for an hour or longer. We, ignored it. When we gave positive or negative attention for it they happened more often. Now he only does it once or twice a day. Unfortunately other people dont understand. Neighbors for example, Ive had the cops called to my house numerous times thinking we were beating on our son cause of the screaming that could be heard outside.
Thank you for sharing your video. I have an 8yr old son with Autism and I remember his meltdowns and the helpless feellng that nothing I did helped until he settled himself down. I'm glad your son is doing better.
One of the most difficult aspects of these tantrums in a child with autism, is that they are absolutely inconsolable...and sometimes all you can do is to let the tantrum run it's course ( all the while trying to minimise any injury the child might inflict on themselves or others). Has Dominic received a formal assessment and diagnosis now?
My baby was diagnosed to have AUTISM.. she is 3 years old and just last april she went to see a therapist.. She also have lots of tantrums everyday.. she hit us very hard.. she spank us.. kick us and grabs my hair and it hurts a lot... she does this when she is upset or when she just feels doing it. My husband usually runs out of patients and sometimes hit her... I wanted to ask if there was a time that you hit your son?
@SilasHorrocks MAYBE YOU SHOULD LOOK UP AUTISM CUZ THEY ARE USUALLY SMARTER THEN THE ADVERAGE PERSON AND MY SON IS 5 AND IS ALREADY SMARTER AND OVIOUSLY MORE INTELLIGENT THEN YOU!!!
@marcyrhoads he does have some really good days now that he's older, I think he's slowly outgrowing the tantrums - they're still as intense as ever but don't last as long as they used to
I'll admit, I used to have a bad temper{got it from dad, unfortunately}, but I never did anything like this.....................sure hope he can get some treatment.
@JohnnyDart76 He's much better now than he was back when I made this video, he still has the odd tantrum each day but mostly it's a short blast of temper and then a cool down period, slowly learning more of the triggers and teaching him calm down techniques and he gets therapies at his school, fingers crossed it continues like this
@polkadotpants I was so happy to hear he is progressing. Continuous therapy is the secret. Unfortunately, you can never let up, but I am sure you are thankful that your efforts are being rewarded. Hang in there!
Having autism is difficult, even when you're "high-functioning" as one of my counselors has put it. And people like moldycack are no help or comfort to anybody living with autism. Shame on you, moldycack.
this really exposes the true face of autism, and that it's not always the mild disorder that a lot of people seem to think it is. autistic children like this really struggle in life, like my brother, and every day can be a battle. if more people become aware of this then there may be more help available. best wishes to you and your son x
I thought I was alone. Thank you so much for posting this and giving your son the opportunity to help others. I could say so much. We have much in common. My neighbors have run to our home thinking the worst. Store managers have ran to our aisle thinking my son had had an accident. His screams would last over an hour 2 & 3 times a day. (His were more like the people in the movie Legend.) I have tons of grey hair now and had no sympathy from his Dad. (It was my fault.) Hold him and don't let go.
@polkadotpants I am very thankful that you are posting videos such as this one. I have an autistic (Asperger's) daughter and watching autism videos that other parents have posted has been really helpful and encouraging to me. I am appalled at some of the comments here. I guess people fear what they don't understand, and some people don't know how to handle that fear without lashing out at others. Kudos to you for your hard work!
If you don't have a kid on the spectrum, you have no right to comment. This is good information for those that don't understand what we live with, also for parents at the beginning of thier journey that need to know they're not alone. When my kid had his first meltdown I had no idea what to do. I had never seen anything like it. It went on for days and he was only 3. So I learned quickly not to set him off. But that's the wrong thing because it actually encourages them to do it more.
@shirleygibson I've never seen that one before, it sounds interesting, if it's a horror film I'm definitely gonna look it up so thanks for that - I LOVE horror movies, especially the old classics and trashy horrors, I made a couple of vidoes of my favourites (Jason & Michael) but am nowhere near done yet, I'm thinking the next one I do will be with either Leatherface or Night Of The Living Dead. Do you like horrors?
I hope you dress him properly for the winter...I hope you remove this before he gets too old, glad my parents never put videos of me kicking and screaming on the internet for the whole world to see.
@cozartbude@cozartbude My son wears appropriate clothes outside of the house, in this video he was about 3 and his skin sensitivity at it's highest so he preferred no clothes indoors, the weather was mild and the heating was on, he's not too bad with it now. He still has tantrums but is better at communicating what's wrong. I posted this video both for his doctors to see the tantrums weren't normal so they could diagnose him, and to show people the ugly side of autism to learn from it
@polkadotpants why dont u leave hi in a safe area like his room and let him calm down and after he is calm ask him what he wants or ask him to tell u whats wrong trust me it works i have aspergers and i worked w autisitic preschoolers
@Sailormoonfan88 No room is safe to leave a child in when they tantrum like my son does, I've had to restrain him before now because he was trying to gauge at his eyes, I do back off and give him space when he tantrums but intervene if he tries to hurt himself or someone else. I'd like to let him calm down first then ask him what's wrong, but he doesn't usually stop until whatever is bothering him is stopped first. I have aspergers and I understand what you mean, but it doesn't work with him.
Thank you for your video.I'm researching for a job as a Support Worker in a school for children with Autism. the phrase 'meltdown' has been used alot as a trait of Autism.Videos such as yours clearly hit home.a quote at the bottom one one article i read, from the perspective of a child with autism.'All that I might become won't happen without you as my foundation. Be my advocate, be my friend, and we'll see just how far I can go.'I hope you find all the support you need.
Strength to you polkadotpants. I admire your patience and love for your children and hope you have support. I can see that moldycock has some problems, and hope they get the support they need as well. No one agrees with moldycocks comments, no one at all.
My daughter was just diagnosed with autism. I know exactly how you feel. Dealing with these tantrums are the most distressing thing I've ever had to do. Luckily my daughter dosent have tantrums like this, I think just because we dont allow it. I have crippling migraines so we have taught her that screaming is not acceptable. Now she falls to the floor in a 'faint' which is scary too... But you still love them and they are still beautiful
I applaud you for trying to get help for you and your children. Even though this video hurt my heart, I completely understand why you did it. I am a home respite care worker for an autistic child and he also has violent tantrums. I was looking for different ways to try and calm the tantrums when I came across your video. I really hope you have found some help! Take care!
Hi there. My son´s got a lighter state of autism called Asperger´s. He had those same outburtst when he was of 3. Me and my wife had a hard time until we discovered the diagnostics.
Down here in Brazil, Asperger´s not that easy to figure it out as autism. Anyway, thank you for posting this video, and know that you´re not alone.
@moldycack........you need serious help! Your comments on this video and others are down right atrocious! You have serious mental health issues and should be in a padded cell with a straight jacket. Idiot!

It is one of the hardest things to watch and this happen to your child. I hope and pray for son gets the help he needs and you will not go though what I am with an 11 yr old. Just know their are other mom out there like you. Other mom and people (without kids) will NEVER understand us.

ColoradoKing26 1 year ago
@ColoradoKing26 It's way more than just tantrums you heaving tit, do you have a brain cell in that neanderthall 'brain'? If this was the only problem he had I would have thought he was a brat, the fact he couldn't talk, was unable to toilet train or walk withouth flapping, rocking, throwing his body around and eventually needed a wheelchair just so we could go shopping led me to look for a diagnosis, and if you don't like it, well you can kiss my arse. Don't tell mummy a thing on her child.
polkadotpants 1 year ago
@polkadotpants
All that shit is psychological. The boy is a fucking brat, and throws fucking temper tantrums. Also to correct you, it is called "MOM" not 'mum' i take it you not from the united states? Yeah explains it.
ColoradoKing26 1 year ago
@ColoradoKing26 Just because where you come from it's mom doesn't make it a hard rule for everyone else, same as just cos I was taught to say mum doesn't mean everyone else should say it like that, but that's just your dumbass attitude, I don't understand it so it must be wrong. You can say it's psychological from experience can you? Have you been through any of those problems because I was born with it and a major part of it is physical, like affecting hearing vision and touch sensitivity
polkadotpants 1 year ago
@polkadotpants he's been assessed mentally more times than I can remember and every time they tell me he's still a toddler, he's 6 now and has to go to a hospital school and talk using a combination of simple words, sign and pictures, and he's still in nappies and the wheelchair. But I'm guessing he has to be lay back in a chair with his eyes rolling back in his head, drooling down himself and trying to bite his ear for an uneducated prick like you to recognise something isn't right

ColoradoKing26 1 year ago
@ColoradoKing26 Did you hear any of what I said? He has been diagnosed by several experts as autistic and mentally retarded, the meltdowns are just one aspect of the issue - and just so you don't keep making yourself look like even more of an ass, it's neurological, meaning his brain is literally wired differently, a large part of his tantrums that I didn't know until I had him tested was how loud he hears everything, you'd fuss too if you had to deal with that day in day out.
polkadotpants 1 year ago
@polkadotpants Retarded? what a HORRIBLE way to talk about him!!! He's not retarded he's just DIFFERENT!!!!!
fraroc 1 year ago
@fraroc Retardation is a medical word, google it. It was only after some idiots started using it as an insult did the medical field start to feel it might be 'politically incorrect' and instead now call it a bunch of other stuff that doesn't describe the problem enough, for the record his mental age is years lower than his actual age, mental retardation. You might not like the word but that's what it is medically. The clue is in the context it's used in, was it said as an insult or descriptive?
polkadotpants 1 year ago
@ColoradoKing26 its B I O L O G I C A L, retard, they pump so much poison into our lives now that peoples brains are going to shit in record numbers, why are you even at this video? and the other 80,000 plus views? because its hit you too

@ColoradoKing26 yea theres definetly a difference between americans and brits. the brits at least are half joking when they claim to be better, americans actually mean it when theyre boastfull of themselves. at the least the americans never bore you with their arrogance and dimwittedness.

God Bless
RealEstateMan1998 1 year ago
@RealEstateMan1998 I'd rather be asked a million questions than get one dirty look, my purpose here is to educate and raise awareness. It's a very difficult thing to explain, there are different types and severities of autism and to date nobody can pinpoint a single cause; it can be sporadic or genetic, a result of brain damage from an accident and another theory is possible toxins, I can deal with tantrums and a smashed up home, but not having answers is the hardest thing for me

@Ben63549 @Ben63549 Somehow it's hard to laugh at a joke based on my little boy, and people say us with autism have problems with empathy.... to be honest what kind of person makes a joke on a video like this anyway?
Just so you know, one of the problems that comes with aspergers is not always getting a joke and taking things literally, if you're gonna make a comment on an aspie's channel you should be aware of that. It's no easy thing to live with and yes, the comments are sometimes hurtful.
polkadotpants 1 year ago
@polkadotpants I think I just got the Amsterdam cookies one, that was actually kind of funny
polkadotpants 1 year ago
@polkadotpants Never the less, you post such videos of your boy on the internet for the world to see, what do you think is going to happen?
I am a strong believer in that you get out of the internet what you put into it.
Ben63549 1 year ago
@Ben63549 I expect people to at least show some humility and understand what a hard thing posting this was to do on my part, be grateful that someone has taken it on themselves to do something very hard in the name of sharing experience, educating and raising awareness; ideally. I'm aware that's impossible, so many people are just plain mean about it - but, every so often I get a private message from one of the abusive ones, apologising and wishing us luck. If I can educate one, my work is done
polkadotpants 1 year ago
No it's the difference between an idealist parent and a realist parent. Anyone who thinks they can fight an established physical chemical problem through psychological means alone (with the whole 'no drugs' approach) has got to be kidding themselves.
Ben63549 1 year ago
@Ben63549 If you're quite finished biting my head off I'll point out that at no point did I say 'use any drug whatsoever and you're lazy', what I did protest to is the suggestion of a huge dose of sedative, big difference.

Ben63549 1 year ago
@Ben63549 Who drugs their kids upto the eyeballs like that just for a bit of peace? Parenting isn't easy, sometimes it involves getting your hands dirty and dealing with things the hard way, but that's the difference between a hardworking parent and a lazy one.
polkadotpants 1 year ago
Another reason why asspies should be locked away from normal society. First, aspies are born, they won't stop fucking screaming, shouting, bitching, moaning, and whining, they don't know how to speak, they can't make friends, they are interested in shit no one cares about or even likes anymore, they suck at making friends, they suck at getting a fine job, and they can't go to college because they're aspies! And the people that said aspies were intelligent were the same people who created weed.
AntiDomingo0022 1 year ago
@AntiDomingo0022 How much research have you done into aspergers? I am assuming none considering what you have written.
You obviously have no life and just post comments like this to see how many 'bites' you get.
I almost feel guilty indulging you but as a mother of an asd child who has done extensive research into the topic, I have to say that you are a d**khead and you need to find a new hobby that is not so nasty.

polkadotpants 1 year ago
@CK1LG3 I can see how you would think that...but having a kid that does this stuff too, nothing is predictable. When you get sick of it, and have to take them to a shrink, the shrink wants to SEE what goes on, so you're usually TOLD to tape your kids flipping out. For me, I just kept the camera stationary in the corner of the room though cause my son hates the camera and flips worse.

@DaltonMan321 Well, your parents were inconsiderate, narrow minded cunts, I'll just leave it at that.
polkadotpants 1 year ago
@polkadotpants Well, it appears that being an "inconsiderate, narrow minded cunt" did some good to me as it effectively taught me to take responsibility for my actions perhaps way more effectively than repeating "stop. don't do that. cut it out.". Do you really think that does anything? That's why more kids this time around are stuck up, rude, and don't ever care.
DaltonMan321 1 year ago
@DaltonMan321 perhaps your parents didn't fully understand and reverted to physical punishment. However, I don't believe it did you any good...do you think? Corpal punishment, such as you experience, is by far not the best type of punishment.

thank you for sharing :) You are very calm with him - well done. Perhaps you could have asked him to come 'show' you or 'help' you make it right. This is obviously a very stressful thing for him. Once you have it right....make a picture card of the correct way and use this on his picture wall....you have one right??
TheTracyPaul 1 year ago
@TheTracyPaul people have said they don't know how I stay calm but I'm on the spectrum too and when I was his age that's what I needed, as much as I hate being like this I'm grateful it gives me some insight. The way I spoke in this video is how his doctor instructed me to see how he'd react if I spoke to him as a 'normal' child. He's since learned to talk much better, I teach him sign and work with PECS with him...

How can a Dr. Tell you what you need to do when you only write on there, this is when I gave him eye contact.. Show how you approached him, Show that he was okay to begin with, and show his reaction to you doing so.. Only then can the Dr. Show you the correct steps.
emeralz1 1 year ago
Only makes sense to me..
emeralz1 1 year ago
@emeralz1 This was filmed on a phone by myself, it would have been difficult, although I agree it would have been useful to show the build up leading to the tantrum I'm sure you know as well as I do that a tantrum can come on by total surprise, I didn't plan the tantrums or deliberately create the environment for them to happen in, it was pretty much a case of him going from happy and placid then bam, these videos are just what I could catch and they seemed to be enough for diagnosis

@polkadotpants @jenbrown007 doesn't always mean lack of understanding and I know that personally because I happen to be autistic myself and was the same at his age, I understood everything, I wasn't dumb and neither is my son - I understood better than you can even comprehend, but my words just wouldn't come.

He s trying to make sense of his world by having his cars in a certain order. you mess them up he's gonna get upset. He needs routine and NO VERBAL interferrence. use short one word phrases, he cant speak so no use talking to him, he cant process what you are on about ! he needs pictures to help him communicate search PECS and please get expert help from SS.
jenbrown007 1 year ago
@jenbrown007 totally agree - i see that this parent needs help to communicate with her son. He speaks a different language than the spoken word. He needs picture cards to communicate. Talk to an expert Mum...he's in there. You will be amazed at how much he has to say...without words.
TheTracyPaul 1 year ago 2

Hug to you!
julesbride 1 year ago
You should have sat him at the table and made him endure eating his breakfast in the wrong order explaining that it is ok to eat it in a different order... you gave too much attention to this behaviour which is what he was seeking.. attention.
MsLadygroove 1 year ago

Does he ever have good days? That is so sad.....
marcyrhoads 1 year ago 2
@marcyrhoads he does have some really good days now that he's older, I think he's slowly outgrowing the tantrums - they're still as intense as ever but don't last as long as they used to

I'll admit, I used to have a bad temper{got it from dad, unfortunately}, but I never did anything like this.....................sure hope he can get some treatment.
JohnnyDart76 1 year ago 2
@JohnnyDart76 He's much better now than he was back when I made this video, he still has the odd tantrum each day but mostly it's a short blast of temper and then a cool down period, slowly learning more of the triggers and teaching him calm down techniques and he gets therapies at his school, fingers crossed it continues like this
polkadotpants 1 year ago
@polkadotpants I was so happy to hear he is progressing. Continuous therapy is the secret. Unfortunately, you can never let up, but I am sure you are thankful that your efforts are being rewarded. Hang in there!

Having autism is difficult, even when you're "high-functioning" as one of my counselors has put it. And people like moldycack are no help or comfort to anybody living with autism. Shame on you, moldycack.
crazyplaywrite 1 year ago
this really exposes the true face of autism, and that it's not always the mild disorder that a lot of people seem to think it is. autistic children like this really struggle in life, like my brother, and every day can be a battle. if more people become aware of this then there may be more help available. best wishes to you and your son x

I wonder if the neighbors compained about Domic's screaming tantrums.

Actually, It Sounds likely The Horror Movie "Dungons, Gylidas and Muzzies" (1965),
Which Starred Jimi Mitchell, Susan Portidge and Klaus Kinski. It Is a 15 Certificate.
It is about a 9 year boy who was autistic and turns horrible screaming and swearing.
Do You Like Horror Movies?
shirleygibson 1 year ago
@shirleygibson I've never seen that one before, it sounds interesting, if it's a horror film I'm definitely gonna look it up so thanks for that - I LOVE horror movies, especially the old classics and trashy horrors, I made a couple of vidoes of my favourites (Jason & Michael) but am nowhere near done yet, I'm thinking the next one I do will be with either Leatherface or Night Of The Living Dead. Do you like horrors?

I hope you dress him properly for the winter...I hope you remove this before he gets too old, glad my parents never put videos of me kicking and screaming on the internet for the whole world to see.
cozartbude 1 year ago
@cozartbude @cozartbude My son wears appropriate clothes outside of the house, in this video he was about 3 and his skin sensitivity at it's highest so he preferred no clothes indoors, the weather was mild and the heating was on, he's not too bad with it now.

Sailormoonfan88 1 year ago

Be my advocate, be my friend, and we'll see just how far I can go.'I hope you find all the support you need.
ghettofox77 1 year ago

Thanks again, mate. Peace.
