haha this guy is trying to fit in so he classifies himself as Gen C. Your old dude and u look like the silent generation so stick w that.... anybody younger then u will have a faster grasping power of knowledge then u will and that's how it is being a human......not saying us the young ppl now will also get old but we are the current gen and your silent..........1
I think you are wrong about gen z. I was born in 96 and grew up in the post-9/11 world. I don't remember that event nor do I remember a world without high-speed internet, Google, or MP3s. I do purchase a-lot of CD but only because I went back and found an appreciation for sound quality. I have older friends who grew up in gen-y and I do not relate to them. I think gen-z should be 95-2002.
More likely to be an Entrepreuner? Hmm... from what I heard, this generation has the greatest gap from their parents in terms of understanding one another, and that they are ill-prepared for the work force... especially college graduates. They do very little and expect everything in return. Look at TV now.. it's crap. Back when I grew up, TV sitcoms showed us morals and values... now, I don't even watch, there's nothing good on but trash TV. -Generation Y'er
@skynsidhawaii "ill-prepared for the work force..." Indeed, this sounds like a typical Gen Yer.
Entrepreuners, by nature, are ill suited for the "work force." The Late Boomers, and their spawn Gen Y, are joiners. Anyone who doesn't play their game must be lazy (or weird, as kids). But it's the misfits who change everything and make it better.
I'm atypical for Y then. I'm not a joiner, I would rather do my own thing and am a very good self learner. I prefer to learn things through reading books or using internet tutorials. I'm also an introvert and very technology oriented. The internet is great for education, gaming, meeting people, finding music and more. The internet was the best thing to happen to anyone introverted or non mainstream.
I am a Generation Y was born in 1985 and I love the Nintendo Gameboy as a child but now play the Nintendo 3DS and my Andoid phone as an adult in my late 20's. The technology gets better on our handheld device's as we age.
@TheSphereHunter Not really. I actually take pride in the fact I spent the first 9 years of my life in the 20th century (1901-2000) and am ashamed at living in the era of plastic and computer chips.
I'm confussed I need help. He said u can tell your generation by how u listened to music. I was born in 1996 but I remember a time in my life when I listened to cd's because iPods weren't invented yet(gen y)But now I'm in high school and we have iPods.(gen z)Also they say u can tell by the Internet. I remember when the Internet was new and didn't have that much and we had a bug slow computer(gen y) but know of course we use it all the time(gen y an z). They say y can remember a time when techno
@TheZo54 you would be generation Y bcuz your were at least 5 to 6 years old when 9/11 happened and maybe you didn't know what was going on bcuz of your social situation but according to human body a child starts to remember things from the age 5. So comparing you to someone being born in 1999 and further is a huge difference. I know you were born on the border line of the end of gen Y entering Gen Z. but your the last year for generation Y
Interesting concepts. Thank you for the info. Could you answer a question for me? What is it about the "Boomers" that have negative impact in some peoples minds? What have we done that's so bad? I can't think of anything.
I was born in Gen X but I'm def . part of Gen C too. I love technology. I went from having records when I was little to cassettes to cds to itunes. So I guess I belong in every generation if we are talking about technology.
bloody bullshit ! it's true that technical evolutions have change the face of ours northern "democratic" civilisations but exept for babyboomers we cannot talk about generation as there is no actual integrity bettween people that have borned in the same decades. And do you really think that listening to vinyls or mp3 change anything at all?
i'm talking from the so called generation Y and i think that humanity has never changed since the homo sapiens apparition so deal with it!
Here is my input and it is the truth...The Baby Boomers are responsible for multitudes of babies born into Generation X (which is my generation and the focus in my comment). My question is this; why are there so many more toxic parents in the Baby Boomers generation than any other generation? Not only are they verbally abusive but physically abusive in many aspects. It seems to be the 'in thing' for this generation. And as a result, my generation is suffering more than any other. TRUTH.
actually this generation is actually going into college now...the first ones are born in 1991, the year the internet started and the collapse of the soviet union. I am born in 1991 and people my age seem more different than the older college students.
lol. funny marketing-talk coming from a UK boomer looking dude. weren't you old enough to vote for someone who voted for Reagan... oh wait, I mean Thatcher? oh wait... this is a commercial. ...and it doesn't take a boomer, x-er, y-er, or weeaboo (no such thing as gen C) to FIGURE THAT OUT
Sakamachi25, thanks for taking the time to look at this. A film is being made about Generation C globally - the Director would love to hear from people who have attitude and diss the idea ;-) nope never voted for Reagan or Thatcher. If you want a good rant we'd love to give you a voice. Jake Pearce.
@jakepearcecom Well I do love the subject. Clusters, sociological behavior, and yes, makrketing-speak... all that is very interesting when you apply it to generational divides. But I think you are just hitting the surface of the real issue.
I was born in 1991, when I was born there was still a USSR, how am I in the same generation as someone who doesn't even remember 911 or the 1990s?
