God, I hate this remake for so many reasons.

It´s quite different from the original, but if I buy it, I´d signal the makers that Lufia might pay off, which would be great, but I don´t wanna buy it due to it being not honest to the originals at all.

ds verion of this game was lame, original was amazing. I agree with superhitokiri about soundtrack being the only thing they did right. but just my opinion!

Has anyone here even played it to say that this game sucks? Also I'm not even sure if this is in the game besides the opening, because on the OST its part of the higher syth arrangements. The DS in-game version sounds different. If no ones knows that Square-Enix had nothing to do with this remake, I am sad.

SE had bought Taito who originally published Estpolis in Japan. NeverLand the original developer for Lufia 1 -3 returns to do this remake and SE just published it.

I am playing it right now and I can say it's not anywhere near the standards of the original. It's interesting and the battle system isn't horrible but they did take some liberties with the story (changing the first scene from something falling from the sky to just randomly meeting Gades in that tower)

I think much of the beauty to this RPG was that when you combine the music and your imagination while playing the game, you envisioned some sort of movie playing in your head.

@SuperHitokiri And even then, they ruin the epicness of certain pieces by playing them more than once. There are parts of the remake I love to death, but when you get right down to it, they took a classic and didn't even try to make it better than it used to be. They had so much opportunity, so much potential, and all they did was toss out an action game with the same plot and characters as an RPG classic.

This piece will always be better on the SNES, simply because of HOW it was used.

@imAxo lol I do too...but the most of the other tracks seem great....but they could have done SOOOO much more for this track. Playing ROTS I was like "This music is awesome!" then when I got to that part of the game I was like, "HOLY SHI- ZOMG THIS IS THE GREATEST VIDEO GAME SONG EVAR!!!!!!!!!1111" *swoon*...They should have put more work into this track.

@POkemon5809 I disagree. It was the fact that Maxim DID die that made the ending truly perfect. There are few things that will grab an audiences emotions like taking a character they have learned to love and making them sacrifice for the greater good of all. Most companies don't like doing it (Or retcon it) to feed the sequel monster, but Lufia 2 actually required it! It had already happened, but that didn't make it's occurrence any less powerful.
