I think I've been on the 42nd street shuttle train aka the S train like once or twice. If I know I have to get back to 34th street - Penn Station to catch the LIRR back home then I just walk. I don't mind the 8 block difference. Don't bother me. I just find it funny watching tourists trying to figure out the subway system. I've heard the horror stories of foreigners ending up in the bx or brooklyn. If you're gonna vist NYC then learn the transit system. That's crucial

Wow. It's such a huge station underground. I live in Perth in Australia, the crappest city in the western world and we just got one stretch of underground track - it lasts less than 30 secs between two stations with only two tracks and trains with a maximum of 6 cars :(. BTW How often do trains leave from this station?
@LanceInAustralia hahaaha I know what you feel and what you mean man! I spent 5 years of my life in Perth before moving to Melbourne and that was a huge leap forward for me! It's like living in another country. Still Melbourne is NOTHING compared to New York!! That's crazy! I can't imagine how massive those mega-cities, such as New York, London or Tokyo, are
The S train is the 42nd Street Shuttle, which runs between 42nd St/Times Square and Grand Central. A one-way trip on the Shuttle takes all of about a minute. If you miss the train, you will have to wait from 2-5 minutes for the next one; late in the evening, when service is less frequent, you may have to wait 10 minutes.
yer man beatstreet was brilliant movie. this station has breakdancers busking all day. cool entertainment on nycs subway stations. times square is the place to be. london will never be like nyc. london is bullshit. ive been to nyc 3 times and love it. will move there to live anyday.
Whats depressing? The music? that happens to be a live underground Chello player playing LIVE for tips . their are many underground street performers. Its all GREAT! ITS ALL PART OF THE ART WORK. I miss NYC! And that S train is a key cross route train. Its a pretty important train. I/m trying to remember I think it goes from Broadway to Lexington?/ (from where you would need to go from the 2 train to be able to get to a 4 5 or 6 train?? I MISS IT!
oh no i totally agree with you! its all great, i guess i just meant that thats my route to work in the morning and at night its so much livley-er than the video... the s goes from 42nd and broadway to grand central and yup you connect to all the east side green ones... the tube to me is the greatest invention of all time... always humanity at its finest...
They should make the shuttle go from 42st Port authority to Grand Central 42st
stopping at
42st PABT-Port Authority Bus Terminal
42st TS-Times Square
42st BP-Bryant Park
42st GC-Grand Central
