So mainly Vegeta did not deserve to die because he could have a second chance (which he did) in life and learn from his mistakes

I dont know i kind of liked it not ending here. I mean vegeta as a hero was pretty cool. The androids were cool. Buu was cool..the only thing weird was how they made everything look like a last hope. First gotenks failed, then gohan, then vegito..finally a spirt bomb works. I think everything worked out in the end.

I always thought this was a fitting ending for vegeta. IMO his story should've ended here. 'with him pouring his heart out to goku and telling how he had to defeat frieza before he died. I know without vegeta the storyline would have had to go another route without trunks though.

In Toriyama's ORIGINAL script of Dragonball's ending (before Shounen Jump forced him to drag the story further with the Cell/Majin sagas), the story was going to end in the Frieza saga.

Goku awakened as the one and ONLY Super Saiyan (there was only ONE that appeared every 1,000 years and it was Goku), killed Frieza and actually DIED on Namek's explosion. Neither Goku or Vegeta would get revived on that ending. With Piccolo staying in Namek and Gohan being the new defender of Earth.

The reason this scene is so powerful is because Dragonball was ORIGINALLY supposed to end on this saga. There would be no more. And while most people will probabaly say the more Dragonball the better, the truth is would've been a THOUSAND times better if SJ had not interfered and let Toriyama finish his manga when he WANTED to end it: Frieza Saga.

Vegeta's death was epic because he wasn't going to be revived.
