My mom has a 5-speed, front-wheel-drive 2.4L Jeep Patriot Limited. Now THAT'S a poser-mobile. If it were 4WD with low-range and fully independent suspension, it'd be nice, but it's purely for looks. Gotta say though, it gets lots of looks around town, and I have pissed off some Wrangler guys at school by plowing through a mudhole with them... They thought it took 35" A/Ts and lift kits to make it through two feet of water...
True that. real jeeps have solid front axels I hate the jeep compass and 4 door wrangler and all that bullshit. I got motherfuckers drivin those four door peices wavin at me fuck that they need to get rid of them and only have yjs tjs rubicon and wranglers
I have a TJ i dont really like the JK four door and how like every soccer mom has one. However they are a very capable machine. The JK has a really great package 1 example is how the gas tank is now underneath the passenger seat. i dont know how many times I have climbed over a log and than bang i bottom out on the gas tank.
Jeep Wrangler is where its at. I agree that those compact jeeps arent Jeeps. A real Jeep has a soild front axle. End of story.

The TJ is the last of the true Jeeps (well, the jury's still out on the JK). Those cute ute's you see tooling around Starbucks are not Jeeps. "Jeep Compass" is simply a Dodge Caliber that some asshole put the Jeep logo on to try to get a few more sales.
