  • I thought the GTX595 was the best at the moment

  • @sadperkion I don't think the kid can see 3 years into the future.....

  • @sadperkion the GTX 595 hasn't been released yet

  • Inb4 ati6990

  • buy pc for work, buy console for games! easy story.

  • @dvl65794 howabout buy a pc for work and games. kill two birds with one stone, and save alot of money. sounds more logical to me. just like that new playstation phone for example. why get a psp and a phone, when you can have a psp phone?

  • @vnvxvnv if your pc have power enough then its ok but there is so much things to do to make pc more powerful.

  • @dvl65794 not really, a decent graphics card and atleast a dual core processor will do, which most computers these days come standard with. anything crazier you might need to spend a little extra, but thats optional.

  • 2560*1600 has 1,9753086419753086419753086419753 times more pixels than 1920*1080

  • the ps3 runs a custom nvidia card i believe call the Reality Synthesizer(i could be wrong on the nvidia thing but its seems to fit as nvidia is making the other 2 consoles' cards)

  • @GamerMGO AMD makes the stuff in the Xbox 360 not nvidia

  • SLI and crossfire don't work with more than 4 GPUs 8 GPUs is useless for gaming...distributed computing on the other hand (such as seti@home or folding@home clients) doesn't require SLI and therefore can use all 8 GPUs

  • @crypticspoon93 No, it can't. Multiple GPUs are recognized by drivers (hardware > driver > API > software), and the drivers do not allow more than four GPUs. So in no circunstance you would be able to use four dual-GPU cards, unless that option is implemented to the drivers in the future.

  • @NewLynxChannel /foldingforum . org/viewtopic . php?f= 52&t=8343

    you were saying?

  • @crypticspoon93 That was certainly not achieved with NVIDIA drivers. And with custom drivers you can obviously achieve support for as many GPUs as you want, but that's completely impractical for a home user.

  • @NewLynxChannel That WAS with Nvidia drivers.

  • you really should do an updated version. I love how you talk about facts

  • I always wanted this unbiased answer question answered;

How much would it cost to build a pc that ran the same graphics and FPS(frames per second in-case people who dont know) as an xbox OR ps3? I know it probably wont be as cheap, because a pc isn't specifically designed for gaming, but i would like to know, just sheer curiosity, take the time out of a schedule where you do nothing and tell me, dont bother and do the research considering that its not on the first page of google when typed in.

  • @mustardman32 $300 or possibly less can do it, if you exclude the OS.

  • @mustardman32 can't be done, no pc monitor supports a low enough resolution to actually have the same (600p or less) resolution as a console.

if you go to the overclockers co.uk website though and find the "Primo Drone" in the value systems, stick the 430 graphics upgrade on then its only a£350 computer that will beat them, and thats pre-built!

and from the same website pricing up a PC from components more powerful than xbox comes to £203

and from that £203 you get office work capabilities too

  • This video is absolute crap pal. The 360 and PS3 are totally different in the way they use their power and the way they render graphics. Thw 360 is built around windows architecture and uses Direct x. The PS3 is not built around windows and does not use Direct x. It doesn't matter how powerful your video card or ram or whatever other bullshit you spew out, It's how efficient you can programme for the hardware you have.

  • @Simplemindedgenius They use their power (regardless of whether you meant electricity or processing power) and render graphics EXACTLY like PCs. Also, Xbox 360 is not based on Windows. And yes, the PS3 uses OpenGL and not DirectX, but note that OpenGL is also available on PCs. Not only that, but PCs have new versions of OpenGL (up to 4.1) while the PS3 still uses an API based on OpenGL 2.

  • @NewLynxChannel The PS3 does not use open gl at all.

  • @Simplemindedgenius The PS3's graphic API is OpenGL ES, based on the OpenGL 2 libraries.

  • @NewLynxChannel "Based on" does not make it open gl. A lancia stratos is "Based on" a ferrari, But it does not make it a ferrari.

  • @Simplemindedgenius OpenGL ES is a version of OpenGL. It's an OpenGL 2 variant made for embedded systems (hence the "ES").

Why is it so hard to understand? Xbox 360 uses DirectX, PS3 uses OpenGL, PCs use both.

  • @NewLynxChannel PS3 does not use open gl.

  • @Simplemindedgenius "Chatani [Masami Chatani, Sony chief technical officer] reconfirmed that the PS3 will support Open GL/ES as its standard API" - Extracted from an article about 2005's Playstation Meeting on Gamespot.

"Supported by the PlayStation 3 as one of official graphics APIs (the other one being low level libgcm library). The PlayStation 3 also includes several features of OpenGL ES 2.0" - From the OpenGL ES page on Wikipedia.

    The PS3 does use OpenGL.

  • @NewLynxChannel No it doesn't. It supports open gl in order to make it possible for lazy designers to programme. It uses GCM as its API. Support and usage are two entirely different things. And please, Don't quote wikipedia, It just makes you look more silly.

  • @Simplemindedgenius The fact that Wikipedia can occasionally have mistaken information doesn't mean every single thing written in there is wrong. And on this case the veracity of this information can be easily confirmed by a simple search on your favorite search engine.

And even SCEI documentation mentions PSGL (OpenGL ES + NVIDIA CG) and the standard API. If find that much more reliable than someone telling me it uses an API which is mentioned absolutely NOWHERE.

  • @NewLynxChannel I'm sorry, I would have assumed, What with you being so assertive in your knowledge of API's, That you would have heard of libgcm. It is what REAL developers use to get the maximum performance out of the ps3 rsx. It is also the native API for the ps3. open gl is just a supported API. EXAMPLE; I have a Blu ray player that supports dvd playback.

  • @Simplemindedgenius I did find references to LibGCM now, good to know. You were actually right on that.

But that doesn't change the fact that, unlike you stated initally, the consoles render graphics exactly like a PC, with hardware based on what was previously available on PC. Therefore, it doesn't matter how well you program for the consoles, even if you managed to achieve their theoretical peak performance, it would still be a fraction of the real-world performance of modern hardware.

  • hahahahahahahahah "facts" and he goes to wikipedia

  • ATI is not well known ?

    i hate u ...

go shove ur gt480 up ur ass

  • @popo981 hey i have a 480 gtx... well 3 of them to be exact but still! that's not very nice =)

  • @xXfishiekunXx

yeah man i got a HD 4850 , just one... and its enough :P

planing to get 5970 tho ;)

  • isnt that what the world is about? how much money you want to spend.

  • xD, these days you can run some crazy shit in 4 way crossfire.

  • Nice video, bad music

  • Your Using Wikipedia..

You automatically Lose all my Respect.

  • @TheJesuslostcousin

    and you lost mine, congratz

  • You cannot compare computer hardware to console hardware, they have both complete different architectures. A ps3 and x-box 360 can do a lot more gaming wise than a pc can with the same hardware.

Besides of that, most cool games don't come out on the pc for me. And most developers don't even bother anymore because of piracy.

So I don't understand your comparisons at all.

  • I'd rather buy a car than a PC to be honest with you all.

  • @yyuuggps3 but why lol

  • great video you should make an updated video on this topic

  • Computer has tits.WE WIN

  • There is no better, worse etc. Only fanboys would claim so. It's all about the games, and that's subjective.

  • I know this was released in 2008, but there are much better gpu's now, like the gtx480.

  • the xbox 360 xenos might not be as powerful as my 9700M GT.....

BUT the 360 games run smooth because theyre programmed 2 AND ....the 360 card has 338 millions of transistors.

My laptop card is 125mhz faster and has a 1.2 ghz shader clock(which suckz), but only 75 Millions of transistors. So yeah, even if LOADSA power is used, it alot easier for the 360 to find the best performance line.

The 9700M GT can run games at higher details than the 360.....but it lags more

  • @waddlerobloxxxx holy shit your laptop has 75 million only?

mine has 2 billion so either your laptop sucks or is old

  • @waddlerobloxxxx thats because your pushing your graphics card too far, no offense but the 9700 isnt that great D: try taking it down a few notches and you should get bettter framrates. compared to my 295, the 360 is laggy. well to me anyway, im used to a stable 30-40 fps when gaming, where as the 360 framerates drop in a very performance demanding situation. i would know, i have a 360 and a $2000 pc i built myself.

  • Well mostly everyone will have a pc regardless so why not make it a fucking gaming pc if you are a gamer??? Just spend $200 on a super good graphics card than $200 for a console and get WAYYYY better performance for the pc....

  • @TearsOfWar1 its not just the graphics card, its everything else

  • Ps3 is the best.... AGAIN

  • my toshiba satellite cost 900 dollars 500 on sale, it runs most game on atleast med settings. so spending 5000 on a PC is not needed.

  • I call it a gpu. For example a GTX 295 or a 5970 is a dual gpu video card. A PS3's videocard is pretty much an underclocked 7900 if you compare it to a PC's graphics card...

  • @mathhenr Oh thanks lol

  • Comment removed

  • hmm... u forgot to mention all the hackers that hijack the server and start shooting bombs out of their p90s and jumping super high on cod online.... i cant say i have ever had that problem with any of my consoles

  • @stylakidd i can say i havent had that problem either on dedicated server since i ban them if i even smell a aimbot or wallhack. but p2p wich consoles use are worse since if the host hacks you cant do shit

  • I ran gta4 on 1680*1050 and settings on high on 9400 GT(I know it sucks) but it gets quite laggy after half an hour or so.

  • @Nibras987654321 Idk what consoles run at for GTA4 but I do know that most games for PS3 run at 600p and are upscaled to 1080p (very poor version of true 1080p) So yeah...

  • My gaming PC cost 700 dollars and I can run all modern games on high. Crysis on high. COD6 on high. etc.

  • try running gtaiv on high. impossible.

  • You're joking right ?

  • Well Crysis runs everything but shaders on Very High. :D

  • notice the dvi-i. it can easily be converted to hdmi

  • It does state and also show you HDMI on another graphics card mate :-) and yes it is easy to convert

  • god ur a noob. u really dont know what ddr is do you? ddr stands for double data rate thus. if you have ddr clocked at 800 mhz you have 800 mhz of effective clock for that ram ddr clocked at 800 mhz you have 1600 effictive and so on. do your reasearch dude

  • 4:50 I thought SLI and Quadfire support only 4 gpus, such as 2 dual gpu cards or 4 single gpu cards, not 8...

  • For GPU: PC Xbox 360 PS3 For CPU: PC PS3 Xbox 360 For Online: Xbox 360 PS3 PC (I hate modding and cheating online but PC is almost always on top. -- My opinion)
  • Your wrong simply about multiplayer.

    PC is also top.

£40 a year for a 12 man server on Call of duty with ultra low ping. DEDICATED.

That means, no silly host which can make it lag, end it and so on.

It will also come with Anti cheat software which is 99.9% likely to work.

It will also have SUPER low ping to ANYWHERE in the world. A UK server to America ping = 90. On console = 200ish. PC = Can be changed or set to normal, kick in-game and much more.

  • That 99.9% must be more like a 0.9% because cheaters are everywhere online. (max is 18 man btw (ground war) But I see where you're getting at. Though choosing servers that aren't modded in some form can be difficult.

  • you pick your servers on pc, you can kick and ban players on the pc.

  • Not any more. Cod 6 has not dedicated servers.

  • I ment other games and the older Call of duty's.

  • @sarvanitis the mod community is already working on fixing that.

  • @chadheck96 modding is a reason pc is fun. fallout 3 modded was WAY better than unmodded fallout 3

  • haha ps3 sux u heard the man!!!

but seriously, ps3 might have more brute power but xbox has a better gpu therefore more floating points and pipelines and vertices, that means all that extra power is usless. the only place that this power can be used is in browsing and other internet related stuff!!

  • fantastic facts, to bad nothing will ever shut up all those stupid fanboys.

  • @aussienerds

    Six shots of Lead might.

  • i love pc gaming... but your voice is like nails on a chalk board,

  • @goeetfuk

I would love to see how well, if at all how Crysis runs on high with a rig for 500$, you cant even get a decent SLI set up for that much and thats pretty much a must have for running that game on high smoothly. ;)

  • ive got an e6600 not oced, a 8800 gt a little bit oced, 2 gb of DDR1, yes, DDR1 ram and some old 160gb hardrive. All that = Crysis on maximum settings with aa x2 ( i could go up to x16Q with no problem without that much of a drop in fps) and i got average fps about 25-30. count up all the parts and you've got about 500$ with crysis on MAX settings

  • Screenshot or it didnt happen. :P

  • hahahaha, you're lying, that technology is way too old, stop lying man, you're making PC look bad.

  • yeah sure 16x aa....... Post a screenshot, otherwise dont talk, and i got 260gtx and AMD dual core @ 2.7, 2gb ram DDR2 and about 11 years old 64GB harddrive

  • Hyzic, this isn't '07 anymore. A mid-range card nowadays can play Crysis just fine at high. $500 can easily build a PC that does it.

  • Provide proof on this silly statement, otherwise it is false. You will never run Crysis on full settings at a steady framerate(30-40+) during heavy loads on a rig for 500$. Please dont kid yourself.

  • I barely run crysis on highest setting with a PC worth 900$ so you are correct.

  • which is the best graphics card ?

  • Currently the Nvidia GTX 295 is the best consumer card.

  • 295 wtf its 285 not 295??? well i havnt heard about it?

  • pc rocks

  • Regarding the price. The cost is justified by the Return of Investment (ROI). We use the PC for work, so it's basically paying for itself. Consoles on the other hand, are moneypits.

That's the reason i can afford an $800 gaming PC and but not a $400 console.

  • i agree with your statement sir.

  • what is song ???

  • its dragon force hero's of our time.

  • @andrewesquivel "Through the Fire and Flames" actually.

  • @andrewesquivel It's definitely not heroes of our time, its Through the Fire and the Flames

  • @andrewesquivel no its dragon force through the fire and flames

  • @andrewesquivel Isnt it through the fire and the flames?

  • @andrewesquivel Throught Fire and flames ;)

  • Comment removed

  • this is only partly true. it DOES have background operations, but a a good amount of RAM fixes that right up.

  • Still, a system could always benefit from losing some background operations.

  • ati fixed that with its fusion program which only allows the game to use all ram on the pcalthough it only comes with the radeon hd 4890

  • Not that much of a hit. I run uTorrent 24/7, net monitoring utilities, audio and video management software, and the CPU monitor still says it's 99% unused.

Heck playing back videos i converted for the MP4 player and iPod is 1%.

  • got a core i7?

  • @andrewesquivel

Yeah and having far more system resources helps too. Have you actually looked at the stats of a PS3 system? It's pathetic, even if you deduct PC resources dedicated to back round operations, it still beats a console by miles.

  • Too bad it's not even remotely holding it strongly enough to tighten the gap between PC graphics and consoles.

  • @solidsnackumzzz Not true... I run A LOT of background programs while playing next gen games and most still running at over 100fps (except hd crysis etc)...you wont notice anything over 60fps, theres been times where I had two games running still holding above 60fps each... I don't have a expensive pc either. its just a 750 dollar custom i built...

  • Liar, post pics or it didn't happen.

  • You do huh. Name me a few. At the end of the day, a console will beneift alot more from minimal background opps than a PC.

  • multicore pcs dont really suffer much from numerous background apps.

  • you can buy programs that will shut off 95% of background programs also, you can (off topic) you can now buy crysis end gaming computer for now about 600$ or spend 400$ on a ps3?

  • @PcGamerNation You can buy a ps3 brand new for $299, not $400. For 299 you get a great range of exclusive titles that are only pushing new boundries in the graphics department, crysis is even being made on ps3 now, and i trust will look no way inferior to a pc version, minus some cool new features, if all goes well. And would you kindly link me to said programs that shut off background opps.

  • @solidsnackumzzz crysis 2 will look inferior to the first crysis when comparing ps3 and PC. also crysis 2 is going to be on 360 also. but in the end crysis 2 will look best on PC and I'm getting it for PC.

  • @BigdogWitBigdog crysis 2 will undoubtedly have more features on pc than consoles but i trust, for the ps3 at least, crysis 2 will offer a better graphical experience than number 1. There are no real constraints, as there is a dedicated team for the ps3 version, which will strive to get the absolute most out of the system, no comprimises, just clever design.

  • @PcGamerNation lol! good luck getting an end gaming computer for 600$.. and end gaming computer would be like 3000$

  • @d0nnis112 This is seriously getting annoying....The new AMD Phenom x6 3.2 is like the new i7 for $200.....GTX series nVidia are around the $200 to $500 depending on what model and how many you get. Good MoBo is about $150. Case $50 to $200 depending on design and Model. Add that up? $600 to $1050. DO YOUR REASEARCH!

  • @solidsnackumzzz Background programs take up a minuscule amount of resources, it has never held me back in a anyway. It only takes up small amounts of ram, and ram isn't as important in games as many people think. The average game only uses little over 1gb of ram.

  • @deathray252 It can depend purely on how well the game is made, and how it manages resources and reduces waste. From what i hear, a few PC games do a bad job of this, which is a shame.

  • @solidsnackumzzz May hold a PC back but a Console only has what you get where a PC you can always make it better, like if you have 4 gigs of ram where windows 7 is using 1gig all ready you have 3 gigs left for gaming, that still a lot more and if you think is a holde back getting two exter gigs is easy and 5gigs use for gaming is really over kill but good future proof

  • @Alucardthedeadone I regret saying that with such gusto, i was young and reckless. A better argument would be alot of PC titles arent as well optimized as some console titles, as a result they look on par or even better graphically. Since my respective console now has a nice growing collection of graphical titles, i almost care not for the console vs pc argument .

  • @solidsnackumzzz that is only the case with some games. most games look better on the pc, for technical reasons

  • i have abandoned my ps3 n xbox320 and built a gaming rig with a core 2 duo and xfx 9800gt...and 4gb ram.

2009 marked the end of my console gaming forever. Didnt play RE5 on console waiting for PC release.

    PC gaming forever!

  • Good for you. I myself made the switch a year ago. Always been computer savvy and built systems for other people but couldnt be bothered making one for myself. This one is custom built and has a year, runs like new but since ive taking this into a hobby and i find building systems so much fun ill be making a new one.....and money wont be an exception lol

    PC FTW

  • well u can compera ps to 360 and ps3 because pc is to powerfull

  • im pretty sure gpraphic cars can only work in triple sli/crossfire and double gpu cards can only use dual sli/xfire

  • The only main difference ive ever seen between consoles and pc's is the framerate.Either than that (besides crysis) I dont see any difference in terms of graphics etc.

  • Resolution is a big factor in the difference between PC and consoles, especially the way the graphics look.

PC also has a lot more/better effects as and deeper textures.

Try a side-by-side comparison one of these days. Look at the trees, faces, walls, even the ground is much more defined, especially when running on high resolutions. (1920x1080 looks sooo good on 22" compared to 60")

  • Well Pc are more powerful no ????? ask but Pc fanboys just only mentioned that they are more powerful and there are several things that they don't mentioned like consoles gpu are very flexible and their (cpu) capabilities and developers can seriously work around it ask any developer just cause they are 512 mb means shit they only have a single task vs Pc how much ram to push Crysis a lot. now next gen consoles will give a better fight considering they'll get better hardware

  • I think Pc has the same graphics as any game 'cept for Oblivion

  • umm not really because console hardware doesnt advance as fast as pc hardware. console hardware also is based on pc hardware as well. it would be impossible to make a console that is technologically superior to a pc un less it was NOT based on pc tech but thats impossible.

  • Lol, PC is much more faster than a PS3, the only problem is in the PC you have got a lot of tasks working and on PS3 only 4 or 5, nothing more ;).

  • not impossible, just hugely impractical and would cost huge masses of money. thanks for sharing you're comment.

  • @spartan499 Pc already runs crysis in higher resolution, more detail. So it needs more memory. Do youself a favour. get a pc, turn the res down to the same as the console. disable all the other programs etc that you dont need running. Just set it up for games ony and compaire performance. The ps3 cpu was used for good sounding figures to make it sound good but in relatiy its not so good.. Consoles are good for price but a top pc will allways be ahead. Just look at nvidia surround gaming exmaple

  • 4 Graphic cards? That's silly. Even Two it doesn't always run 100%.

  • not really you need 1 graphics card just to make games 3D, then if you have 3 regular it will be ultra good looking 3D gaming =D

  • pc has massive hard drives, you keep 10-15 games in pc with no lag and you click you play game and quit and play another game, ps3 and 360 no do that

  • ummmmm..... our sorta mistaken ps3 can use any hdd the size of 2.5 which is a laptop hdd size so therefore u can have a massive storage device on a ps3 if u want to

  • and on a PC you can have more than one for even larger storage capacity.

  • The Cell is not a classic CPU its more like a mix between GPU/CPU the SPUS can be used for graphics processing as well unlike the XBOX360 can do it. With it the PS3 GPU can put work to the CELL and that equalls better graphics. The PS3 has a big potential we will see a PC will have always an advantage but the graphics wont be increasing so dramatically as we have seen in the past.

  • The part about devs finding it hard to develop for the ps3 isn't true. It is in fact relatively easy. 2 years down the line and devs have adapted to the ps3's complexity. It was at first general consencious amoungst devs that developing for ps3 was trickier than the 360/pc.

  • aculty the ps3 is better than 8800gts video card they made an comprasion for proFX graphics tool benchmark they made on 360,ps3 and 8800gts so the 360 finish in 10 seconds and the 8800gts finish it in 5 seconds and the ps3 finish it in 1.2 seconds!

dude the ps3 is very powerfull its like

q6600 with 4gb rams and 880gts 512 mb video card

BUT still the pc is powerfull than ps3 cause of the 8800 ultra and 280gtx and HD 4850 those awesome cards ;)

  • i find this a little hard to believe due to the graphics not being as good as PC versions of games. if this was true, then the PS3 would have much better graphics than it does and play all games at 1080p instead of the usual 720p. i feel the PS3 is more like a Q6600, 512MB of RAM, and a 7900GS (when comparing graphics to a PC)

  • @andrewesquivel actually when its a Multiplatform game, the developers always

hold back the true power of the PS3 because of the 360. because they always port the 360 version to the PS3 basicly = Major Bullshit on their part.

  • The PS3 version looks worse because the Xbox is the more powerful machine. When Ps2 games were ported to the more powerful Xbox, the Xbox version was better, like in SWAT and Onimusha etc. There is as much, "Untapped potential" in the Xbox as there is in the pS3 as there was in the Sega Dreamcast, that's all just propoganda fanboy talk dude. "IN THEORY" you can ALWAYS get more power from a piece of hardware.

  • @Offspringfan64 thats not true. the PS3 got way more potential. the reason is the people who dont know how to develop stuff on the PS3. and its true! people have been complaining how hard it is to develop on the PS3 when it was released . so its NOT the consoles fault.

i Mean, just look at the Spec's and what not.

so i am still right. DEVELOPERS are LAZY money grabbers. like always

however i do think the Xbox has some more in it.

    Facts vs. propaganda

  • The Cell is a very poorly designed CPU for gaming, which needs lots of simple calculations preformed. The Cell Broadband is large and cumbersome, it really sucks for games, it's more suited to things like research. Is the PS3 more powerful? In theory, yes, but the Xbox 360 is a much better, and much more capable gaming machine.

  • besides PS2 games ported to both consoles WERE in the early time of the PS3's release, so people had no danm clue how to use its potential.

or like how FFXIII fills 3 Disc's for the Xbox. for example: RDR was made on the 360 and PORTED to the PS3 cause of that shit, the PS3 version only runs on 520p

or like how Batman Arkham Asylum was better on the PS3.

Crytek are the only ones who now how to make multiplat games

PC connected to PS3 and Xbox simuntaniously. best way. imo.

  • @Offspringfan64 ps3 is technically more powerful but its so hard to code for that game developers that are lazy dont bother making the performance and graphics better unless its like an exclusive, you can only get more power from a piece of hardware if the software is coded better. otherwise you have to upgrade your hardware which is a feature only exclusive to pc gamers

  • No, it's not, only when we are talking about software rendering it is, but software rendering is extremely inefficient for realtime graphical calculations, like videogames. If we are talking about renderman, sure, but rendermn takes four hours to give us Toy Story. Superior? Not for videogames. Videogames do lots of small calculations, rather than large ones. The Blu-ray/ HDD dual streaming, and on-die memory controller are the only things PS3 can do better. Xbox is smarter for videogames.

  • @Offspringfan64 Pixar uses a workstation composed of 128 dual-core Xeon processors (256 cores, 512 threads), and modern movies aren't traditional rasterized graphics, they are rendered with global illumination algorithms. The expression "software rendering" loses meaning in this context, because the workstation does better than most GPU setups available today.

  • @KILLERWSYAN no body who pc games uses 8800gts they are just to old

  • @KILLERWSYAN haha what a lie dude.

  • Look at it this way, most ppl have a modern computer now days anyways. You don't need the best RAM or CPU to put the smack down on a console, just something reasonably good, which you'll get, easily, for around 6-800 dollars, and nice high end around 1200`. Now, say you have this PC, and you want to play games, should you go spend 4-600 on a console, that really ain't all that great, OR, spend HALF that and get a truly SICK graphics card and be gaming in 1080p with 4x the detail of a PS3/Xbox.

  • Most games when played on both consoles only ever play at about 720p, while on PC you are usually only limited by your graphics card.

  • You can't craft or build a PC. You can only put one together. (unless you have a way to assemble your own microchips)

The systems break down like so:

    Game graphics: PC>360>PS3

    Game availability: PC=360>PS3

    Multimedia: PC=PS3>360

The eight cores in the PS3 are redundant as only 6 are used for games, however most games are only ever made to utilize 2-4 cores. The 360 GPU is indeed more powerful than that of the PS3, and the 360 always has 2xFSAA (which means less jaggies around objects).

  • I can't wait for PS4.

It can't be more than 3 years away.

  • lol 3 years?

WORNG sony have said the ps3 will last for 10 years from now on.! so thats mean the ps4 will release maybe on 2019 or 2020...

  • sony said that but marketing BS. sony is already working on the ps4 and they have decided to go with intel as there gpu maker for it. if ps3 was so good them would there really be a need for ps4 development this soon?

  • Actually, most people don't really think about what EXACTLY Sony said about the PS4's eventual release.

    Allow me to clarify:

Sony said that they'll stick with the PS3 for roughly 10 years. Now, here's where people's mistakes come in to play. Usually, a consoles' lifetime is roughly 4 years, but Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo have already stated that this Generation will last longer. Sony's statement does NOT mean that the PS4 will release when the PS3's life cycle is over with.

  • Now i want 2012 to come so I don't have to see a ps4.... ( no I don't believe in it and it's just a joke)

  • PC ftw. ;D
