This video suggests that GE invented the concept of collaboration among employees in science and technology. They didnt. Successful companies (unlike GE) have done this forever. (Its possible that the GE managers are just now figuring out that this is a good idea.)The GE upstate NY laboratory has the basic HR policy that pits one scientist against another for the favor of their managers. They got this idea years ago from Bell Labs (now Lucent) and the technique was later prevalent at Enron.
