  • @themagicunicorn01 "hanging on" to a cutting horse is pretty difficult--a bit like sitting a horse who's spooking in a bunch of different directions. It doesn't hard 'cuz she's making it look easy, y'know?

  • I'm no professional and I mean no disrespect, and I could be wrong, but it kind of looks like she's just hanging on and the horse is doing it all. If I bring my horse up to cows like this, he'll cut all by himself.

  • you go girl, i know my dad wants me to cut the cattle and im horrible at it :)

Sad that your prob gonna get grounded though.

  • Damn that looks fun

  • omg, you are an amazing young lady!!! to have the chance of feeling a trained cutting horse under you in the first case and to ride as good as you did makes us old nags envy of what could of been if we had the chance at your age!!!! keep it up girl, you ride awesome.....dad should be proud!!!

  • good job at cutting the calve off from the rest and worth the grounding as well haha

  • this is really fun everybody should try it

  • I would be on the ground. haha

  • Awesome job!!!! I would love to be able to do that like her, i've done some team penning but its nothing like that!!

  • I didn't watch the whole video but it looks like she's still learning how to cut...no "hell of a preformance" that I see

  • @NCarolinaCowgirl

She's twelve. riding her father's cutting horse. Way to be a bitch to a little kid who, from what I see actually did put on a hell of a performance.

  • @NCarolinaCowgirl she stayed on the horse. thats a hell of a good performance. so what if she was learning, for a learner she did extremely well..

  • @NCarolinaCowgirl Why don't you go grow up and quit hiding behind your computer screen and post some vids of you cutting that well at 12 years old.... Oh wait... u can't, cuz you got nothin. Don't put down others when you don't know what your talking about.

  • great horse. he really has the cowsense

  • good riding:)

  • thats how you steel a horse and ride the hell out of it!

  • Music?

  • nice work (:

Tho i wonder, will we ever be able to ride cows?

  • @ChibiSugar i don't think I would want to, they don't have a very smooth gait or a back that is very comfort to ride on (even with a saddle)

  • @missionxminded

    How do you know..?

    You've tried? (:

  • @ChibiSugar Yup lol

  • @ChibiSugar i have a friend that rides her steer in a saddle, apparently he's really good and he even jumps

  • @fishiz3434 you should post a video of that. seems like lot of fun to watch, a jumping steer

  • I love watching cutting horses work! They look just like collies or any other herd dog!

  • Nice work!! and nice cutting horse!! You never know you could be the next grand champ in cutting! ;) Happy trails!

  • this girl sure can ride!!

  • and kudos to the horse too. them cutting horses know their business

  • i know timber! im freinds with kathy m!

  • pshh if yhat was my daughter i would punish her i would high five her cuz to know i have daughter that rides like that i would be damn proud of her

  • thats something i would probably do well done u hav proved kids can d o ask much as adults can do if not better !!!! :)

  • I'm confused. And I also don't get why you can't just run at the cattle with a big hot poker instead :P But then again I'm blonde, so you shine a torch in one ear and it comes out the other XD XD

  • @GainingBananas because this is less stressful and less painful and more fun... why inflict unessicary pain

  • @DeathKitty123456 Well obvioulsy we're not ACTUALLY going to jab the poor things.. But they'll sure as hell move away next time if you did, wouldn't they XD

I suppose it could be fun.. Oh well :P

  • "ride it like you stole it!" :)

  • you go girlie!

  • wow awesome :D

  • Always like cow cutting, Amazed on how we can tack a prey animal and turn it into a preditor. Good riding girl.

  • I remember getting a hold of one of my grandfather's HOT ranch horses (gelded late, behaviorally pretty much a stud anyways) and going into the cattle pasture. A squirrel jumped out of a tree and he bolted (not scared, wanted an excuse to run, ha). Squirted right out from under the saddle and galloped off stomping all over his reins. I was literally left behind. Imagine a little kid trying to drag a heavy Western saddle and pad up a giant hill being stalked by cattle. Scarred me for life.

  • @silifein I would of throw the saddle and blanket on a cow

  • Wow thts prety amazing it looks hard trying to keep the calf where you want it to go :)

  • LOL, nice job Timber :)

  • She's a helluva rider! lmao, too funny though!

  • damn. That girl can RIDE! <3

  • geez timber is a good rider/ cow cutter

she should work at my ranch!!

  • If she stole the ride, why is there a turn back rider?

  • I think she should show her dad this video. I think his pride would lesson the punishment. Surely he's rather she's steal the horse and show him how good she is.. than like steal a car?

  • @MissHeatherAnn1 Don't they hang horse theives? So I assume if she is still alive he did. jk. she does do a some impresive riding though. has me beat from when I was 12.

  • lmfao thats too cute, people spazzing are idiots so stfu

  • horse6230 leave her alone shes just havin a bit of fun she wont ruin it if the dad has use the horse for cattle cutting for a while the horse knows wat to do and already has its habbits... good vid BTW good little rider.

  • What about the Fellow that is turning back for her, was he fired? Let the Kids have fun and learn the trade by making mistakes!

  • She's Lucky her dad has a horse to steal LOL :D if my dad had a horse i think i would take over it with in a couple of minutes!

  • u grab under the horn dim wit

  • Hope this isn't her dad's show horse if it is the horse needs some fine tuning! Never stopped on it's ends! Daughter needs a few lessons herself.

  • shes going to ruin dat horse she dont know how to cut

  • @horses6230 You don't know how to use proper grammar and English. She's not shes, that not dat, and don't not dont.

Proud member of grammar police :)

  • @conwayhorselover wow I know how to talk I just did not feel like ok are you happy noy gzz and I cut yea she is if she keeps doing that!

  • @horses6230- haha, how old are you? 9? In California, we grab the HORN, not under it. If you grab under the horn, why dont you ride in an english saddle?

  • @jberban420 well Here in Alberta we go cutting in english saddles too! ;) whatever works! damn hard tho!

  • thats all the horse pretty much, the girl is more in the way than anything. but amazing horse=)

  • i woulda did the same damn thing

  • her dad should give that horse to her she is very good!!!

  • believe it or not..i ride at that same stable! :)

  • atta girl! ride it like you stole it!!

    oh...wait...you did.

    LOL

great performance and worth the grounding you probably got. ;)

  • No wonder she got in trouble she is definately not ready for such a horse. She needs to stick to her own dead head for a little bit longer.

  • that horse is really good and is doing mostly everything on it's own

  • She is good!

I wanted to do cutting but my Clydesdale is a little to big & clumsy. My AQH is afraid of cattle. What kinda cattle horse is afraid of cattle?? lol

  • He is most likely not used to them, leave him in a pasture next to some cows for about a month. He'll eventually get more curious then cowardly and get used to them quickly.

  • shes twelve!! i'm 11 and i just started cantering!!! i cant even sit in the saddle when i canter!!! i post!!! cutting looks really hard.

  • seriously there not getting hurt stop being dumb ugh .. u big know it all babies that girl is doing just fine on that horse and not even close to the cow .. so get over it !!!!!! ....

  • oh guys it's a calf .. theres no injury involved get over it .. nobody's getting hurt, stop being stupid like really ..

  • Amazing!!

  • the horse is doing everything... like most cutters seem. i dont know much about this sorta riding but the horse looks as if they just know what they doing and the rider just sits there... i like the way the horse moves to do this tho... good training is all it comes down to.. guessing lol

  • wow. you clearly dont understand cutting.

  • omg you stupid fuck. HUMANS USE CUTTING TO SEPERATE A COW FROM THE REST OF THE HEARD SO THAT THEY CAN BRAND IT FOR IDENTIFICATION AND OTHER PURPOSES. you dumb fuck you clearly dont know shit about anything ranch or rodeo related...let alone horse. They're not chasing it. They're simply seperating it for a moment or too.

  • take it easy! i totally understand what you're doing, but does it look like the calf likes what you're doing?! does it jump around and sing "yay, i'm being sperated from my mom!"?

    do something else, please?

  • Lol! There are no momma cows in there, all the calves are weaned. All that calf is thinking about is how to get back into his herd. No more, no less. So don't make a huge deal out of it.

Separating cattle from the herd is necessary. The horse learns how to handle the calf in the case of doctoring when they are sick and how to keep them from straying off when you take your herd out to pasture.

  • You know it was probably separated from it's mom long before this right? Most likely within a day or two of being born?

  • At least its better than roping where the calf is yanked backwards via throat

  • look. what you need to understand is that we dont hurt them when we do that. i campdraft and it does the cattle more good than harm. they may not like it but they are run for less than a minute. get over it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • also to cutthe calf from the herd if its sick :D

  • Don't get me wrong or anything, I think she was a really good rider and the horse is gorgeous and brilliant. I don't know much about cutting cattle and all that but I was just wondering why you would go out and steal your dad's horse to cut cattle for no obvious reason. I don't want to start a fight here. Just why would you scare those young cattle for no reason?? I ride the English style and live in Ireland so I don't know if there are competitions in this or not, was there any point to it?

  • it is a sport just like horse jumping is its all about fast movements the cow is not that scared just trying to get back to the other cattle

  • she is probably just practising, i ride english too and not too sure but thats what im guessing

  • Lol there is some point to it. On ranches some times you have to seperate one cow from the herd, either for medical reasons or its in the wrong pasture, or its ready to go off to market. This necisary practice eventually became sport, and yes there are cutting competitions

  • y wud u betray ur teacher and not write in proper English. stupid pepz.

  • wat do u mean? ur not writing in proper english either, u r using the letter "y" instead of typing why,,,, so dont insult us, and anyway, who wud steal there dad's horse

  • Wow. I guess the whole idea of *sarcasm* is lost on some people.

  • don worry i hav HEAPS of sarcasm, and and anyway ever thought that I WAS JOKING TOO!? it doesn't sound like u were joking thats all and anyway, good video

  • Really nice horse!!!

  • that horse is intense, like fully, i dont know if it was just cause the vid seemed to be in slow motion but that horse is amazing, and the rider

  • i agree, the rider is orsm, its just the way that it says that she "goes crazy" that i thought that she shouldn't really be stealing her dad's horse, but anyway great video i agree with X michellopuffX

  • She rides well for 12 but when she learns to anticipate not where the steer is but where he is going then she will be ahead of the action. What his eyes and ears because they always look where they are going before they go, then set your weight in that direction and you will beat him to the punch. Good luck! Nice horse by the way.

  • looking good girl, nice horse. You keep it up!

  • i dont care what these ppl say.. you go girl!! im just learnin how to do cutting and i know how hard it is. you have great balance and hang right on there! your amazing!!!!

dont listen to the comments by ppl who obviously dont know anything about this sport... or riding in general!!

  • i love cutting/ team pening... i have a red dun aqha mare i do it on i have 7 horses

  • HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH

  • looks like a fun sport! id like to try that some day! if i could learn to! great riding! too bad she got in trouble, that was GOOD!

  • dem damn der good eating boy!

  • Very Nice you let it get away a couple times but just keep at it

  • im having my second riding lesson at 8pm today and im doin gmy first canter(english) since i was soo good at the posting trot in my first lesson. any advice please?:)

  • its been a while since i rode english so i cant quite remember what is "proper" but from a western point of view, don't confuse the horse by asking him to go forward, then pulling back on the reigns. Don't sit up and down like you do with a jog just sit back in the saddle, and JUST HAVE FUN!! :D

  • Try riding the canter on a lounge line without reins to get a feel before trying to control the horse that fast (and without much balance). It might be scary at first, but its better than trying to stay on a horse and keep him going around the arena while slidding off the saddle.

  • biggest advice, relax. If you have a straight away or you are in a circle close ur eyes for a second and feel the way the horses barrel moves under u and let your hips follow... cantering is fun :-D

  • I don't know anything about riding horses but I think thats good ^^

  • i went team penning for the first time today i one on the 3rd try the horse i was on was 22 it took my team 56 seconds

  • Nice run for a first time!

  • Ya nice run!

team penning is defenitely a thriller!

  • this is usually the horse, saying u hold on ill do the work! YEEHAAA!, haha.

well thats what i think, because the rider loks stationary most of the time, so im guessing u just sit n hold on.

  • pretty much yeah lol. Some people do bridleless cutting and you can see the rider is just there to keep it legit.

  • yea ur not even allowed to really move ur reins are you? you have to keep one hand on the horn the whole time right?

  • In cutting, alot of the work is training the horse. In the show en, you cant lift up your hand to school, you have to use your weight, hips, and legs. You'd be suprised at how much work it takes, even if it doesnt look like it.....

  • it takes soo much work! I learned this summer at a training barn for sutting and reining. This horse looks like an amazing time! The tunr around on him is awesome! and she's a good ridder too!

  • @kittykat8606 most of the work on the rider's part in cutting is outside the show pen. in practice you have to teach your horse what to do, then in the show pen you mostly have to stay out of their way. even without being allowed to use the reins, though, you help the horse a great deal in doing its job thru your seat and legs

  • id love to do cutting... but unfortunantly im a crap rider lol

  • HOLY CRAP! Thats good!

  • im a performance rider myself, but my cousin is a big time cutting trainer and is a very respected one. I got to ride one of her finished horses cutting, its AMAZING. such a thrill.

  • U GO GIRL!! THATS A COWGIRL

  • if i was her parent i'd be proud of her for riding that horse like that! i remember i was 12 when i started doing cutting and i'm still hooked!!! :D

  • Wow winning that at Houston is BIG and I know that from living around here. I missed the deadline for halter in the paint show for a yearling stallion this year or I'd go.

  • i go cutting all the time i have one the houston live stock show and rodeo twice in the horse division

  • You go girl. I know how hard showing a really good cutting horse is. My father trined cutting horses. I first showed cutting horses when I was 13.Watching them is like poetry in motion.

  • wow that is so cool

  • you know its no tthat hard to hang on if you know what your doing...im not trying to be rude! =]

  • hold on tight thats for sure

  • the best ;)

  • Nice Horse....Hold on Girl!!!!

  • I bet she got HER britches warmed up for that!

  • hee hee she is good! and she's my cousin! hooray! prancing unicorn!
