i've been on 15mg's for the 5th day now....and i didnt even make it past the 1st day without abusing it. It takes me like 2-3 pills (30mg's - ish) to begin feeling anything. Someone please help..I'm supposed to take "2 - 15 mg each day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon" but that's just a waste to me, being i don't feel them at seperate times. ugh...idk. try Ritalin or concerta or something like that. Adderall affects some differently than others. Trust me, I started on Ritalin then got switched to adderall. Just communicate with your physician so he or she can help you discover which one you need.

Im on adderall too .. I had ADD since the 4th grade they prescribed me ritalin then moved me to Adderol .... I developed anger issues when I got off of it. because I wasn't used to the "Slow layed back attitude". So people who lie to get on it are stupid.
It sounds like you just got prescribed the wrong type of medication. There are many other types of medicine for ADHD that effect you differently. Just tell your doctor how you feel and you will get on the right meds. I had to switch like 4 times before I found the right medication and dosage

When ever I don't do these things when I take it I will feel this way because it helped me to focus on the fact that my body is missing something. The only things that I don't like but believe that they will go away are the feelings of chills and sometimes headaches(when I'm dehydrated or hungry). I'm on it right now and don't have to make as many corrections with spelling as I normally have to.
You would need to get use to it and adjust your amount. I felt like one to at 10mg, when I went to 20mg and take it every other day it helps. It doesn't make me into anything that I am not already(zombie, excited, sleepy) just helps me notice how I actually feel. The most important thing though is that you need to exercise, eat well and get enough sleep for it to feel this way.
@Hye323 I'm going to make an assumption based on your statement that you are one of the many self-thinking and well versed in their belief that ADD isn't real. Now feel free to correct me if I am wrong as it is a bit of a leap from what you said but it's not an illogical assumption. Now I pull up huge list of well cited medical studies, brain scans, neurological tests, etc. proving that ADD is real and very much a "physiological" difference in the human brain.
@Hye323 That being said yes the mind is a powerful and not fully understood thing, and many people of different lifestyles and differences could probably benefit from meditation and other Eastern philosophies that help calm or control the mind. My point was simply saying ADD/ADHD has been "PROVEN" not theorized but fucking proven to be as much of a medical condition as diabetes or some other physical condition. @Hye323 You can still have ADD and use your mind to over power it, you wouldn't have to if you didn't have it. I was diagnosed with it in '99 and took adderall until 2008, I honestly am not sure if I have the "disorder" it seems like a way for big pharma to use the kids.

Adderall is an amphetamine-based stimulant, where as Strattera is classed as a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. In laymans terms these are 2 completely different drugs that do 2 completely different things to your brain but are simply prescribed for the same "disorder". To compare the 2 drugs is the same way is almost asinine.

@dr1345 Yes getting an A on an Exam you've studied for can be "easy" but getting an A on an exam you haven't studied for isn't which was my point. Also you obviously know literally nothing about clinical psychology or maybe even the medical field in general as certain medications react to certain people differently, which is why many clinicians and patients work together trying different things until they find what works best for that specific patient.

I didn't take too little and it didn't wear off, the video was shot at the medications peak. I've read that most people with ADHD can very well focus on tasks they find stimulating or especially interesting. It becomes a disorder when you cannot focus enough on things that you recognize are very important for some reason, even though you wish you could, despite it's boringness. And of course there is a spectrum of ways it might affect each individual.

On your previous vids you were loud and more outspoken. friendly etc. The thing is that youtube videos are predictable by that i mean it is safe you can make a video and act silly and seem "normally" social. I know exactly how u feel. I love your analogy of reading a book when you are off meds- getting distracted in a good way by individual words you latch onto & then when on meds everything is boring so u may as well read the f#g thing. brilliant. & then your being calm but not relaxed; yeah that's nailing it. u cant be yourself or have a spontaneous happy moment on meds particularly the stimulant meds for ADD. its like u observe yourself in the 3rd person not participating vs being manic w/o meds.
Its supposed quiet all of your thoughts so you can concentrate. At least thats what it does for me and I love it. I sometimes my brain goes nuts and I cant think.

I have a cousin with ADD and he was prescribed Adderall. He is WAY too hyper without it, but I would rather him being all hyper and annoying than I would seeing him taking the Adderall. He barely talks, he acts sad, and acts like a zombie. I don't have ADD, but if I did, I would never take Adderall.
if your not going to take the aderall. you should definitley seek therapy. i say that because aderall balances your psychosis in ways that you might not realize now. and just because you go to therapy for a month or two doesnt mean that you will acheive anything. it can take years for something good to come out of therapy. and trust me going to therapy or taking medication now will only benifit you in the future...... no doubt about it.

I find that VERY often people who believe they have A.D.D actually suffer from depression. I'm one of them. I've been on anxyolitic meds most of my life which caused lethargy, then I was given adderall because I was misdiagnosed with ADD because of the sedation. Now I'm suffering from severe depression, and a decrease in cognitive function. I took an I.Q test during a psych eval and scored a VIQ-143 and PIQ-135. Full scale-141. Now I feel brain damaged.

Im on adderall too .. I had ADD since the 4th grade they prescribed me ritalin then moved me to Adderol .... I developed anger issues when I got off of it. because I wasn't used to the "Slow layed back attitude". So people who lie to get on it are stupid.

It sounds like you just got prescribed the wrong type of medication. There are many other types of medicine for ADHD that effect you differently. Just tell your doctor how you feel and you will get on the right meds. I had to switch like 4 times before I found the right medication and dosage

When ever I don't do these things when I take it I will feel this way because it helped me to focus on the fact that my body is missing something. The only things that I don't like but believe that they will go away are the feelings of chills and sometimes headaches(when I'm dehydrated or hungry). I'm on it right now and don't have to make as many corrections with spelling as I normally have to.

You would need to get use to it and adjust your amount. I felt like one to at 10mg, when I went to 20mg and take it every other day it helps. It doesn't make me into anything that I am not already(zombie, excited, sleepy) just helps me notice how I actually feel. The most important thing though is that you need to exercise, eat well and get enough sleep for it to feel this way.

Adderall is an amphetamine-based stimulant, where as Strattera is classed as a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. In laymans terms these are 2 completely different drugs that do 2 completely different things to your brain but are simply prescribed for the same "disorder". To compare the 2 drugs is the same way is almost asinine.

Also you obviously know literally nothing about clinical psychology or maybe even the medical field in general as certain medications react to certain people differently, which is why many clinicians and patients work together trying different things until they find what works best for that specific patient.

I didn't take too little and it didn't wear off, the video was shot at the medications peak. But im just gonna say that whatever you do, do not like the feeling, just use it to concentrate during school. Adderall is highly addictive. I've been adderall for years. If you have any questions Message me. Adderall is wickedly useful and can also back fire on you big time. If your blanking out, the dosage is too high. XR I noticed tends to be smoother but ITS ALSO UNDPREDICTABLE AT TIMES. I've had days where it lasts up to 12 hours when I only needed it to last for say 5 hours. If I were you, stick Adderall brand name, and vary up using IR and XR.

Adderall can enhance whatever state of mind you're in. If you're "bored" with a crummy attitude, there's a real chance of feeling it much more intensely. ADD/ADHD does not really exist in most cases. Usually peoiple who are supposed to have it are actually just suffering from some sort of food-allergy. Changing your diet to a diet without irritants (no sugar, no artificial additives, little meat, no processed foods) will fix it within a year

Hey Doom I agree with the tubers that say you should continue with this medication. Your personality is not ruined. On your previous vids you were loud and more outspoken. friendly etc. The thing is that youtube videos are predictable by that i mean it is safe you can make a video and act silly and seem "normally" social. Not necessarily the case though. Try sticking to it and see if you could improve your character in a crowded social enviornemet. I have self diagnosed ADD so far

@rafatube87 What you describe as predictable social interactions with a camera for youtube videos has little to do with this video or my personality itself. The medication affected me in a negative manner that was obvious to me by my own introspection, thus I filmed the video to share this experience as well as those thoughts and feelings, or lack thereof. I know exactly how u feel. I love your analogy of reading a book when you are off meds- getting distracted in a good way by individual words you latch onto & then when on meds everything is boring so u may as well read the f#g thing. brilliant. & then your being calm but not relaxed; yeah that's nailing it. u cant be yourself or have a spontaneous happy moment on meds particularly the stimulant meds for ADD. its like u observe yourself in the 3rd person not participating vs being manic w/o meds.

Its supposed quiet all of your thoughts so you can concentrate. At least thats what it does for me and I love it. I sometimes my brain goes nuts and I cant think.

anyway, adderall suppose to make you have empty thoughts. It takes 7 hours to fully kick it. Like me, it kicked after I woke up from a nap where my friend kicked in right away... Anyway, it does take a while to get used too. The drug can do good depending on how u think bout it...

@xoxo0414 If you don't understand how some people say "they don't feel like themselves" its because you don't know or understand many medications or chemicals, especially ones considered to be psychoactive, sometimes affect different people differently. It's exactly like saying "I don't understand why some people get itchy and choke when they eat peanuts" because you are ignorant to the existence of food allergies.

I have a cousin with ADD and he was prescribed Adderall. He is WAY too hyper without it, but I would rather him being all hyper and annoying than I would seeing him taking the Adderall. He barely talks, he acts sad, and acts like a zombie. I don't have ADD, but if I did, I would never take Adderall.

if your not going to take the aderall. you should definitley seek therapy. i say that because aderall balances your psychosis in ways that you might not realize now. and just because you go to therapy for a month or two doesnt mean that you will acheive anything. it can take years for something good to come out of therapy. and trust me going to therapy or taking medication now will only benifit you in the future...... no doubt about it.

I've been prescribed adderrrraaaall since last may? maybe the year before that. But it seirously just makes you feel like complete shit. I always feel indifferent to everything, and whenever I take it I have to force myself to eat breakfast because I can't eat anything else in the day because it takes away my hunger. It helps me in school, but im not my fun self anymore while I'm on it. So on days that I'm hanging out with people I don't take it.

I used to take Adderall, but I didn't like it.. It made me feel like a zombie, like you said. Now I'm prescribed Ritalin, it's like a weaker/better version of adderall, it calms my mind, yet I can still be my random crazy self too. I can concentrate better, but I'm still myself.

I find that VERY often people who believe they have A.D.D actually suffer from depression. I'm one of them. I've been on anxyolitic meds most of my life which caused lethargy, then I was given adderall because I was misdiagnosed with ADD because of the sedation. Now I'm suffering from severe depression, and a decrease in cognitive function. I took an I.Q test during a psych eval and scored a VIQ-143 and PIQ-135. Full scale-141. Now I feel brain damaged.
