@ProtViewer Everything relates, maybe this will help future discoveries,.. Nachdenken! Besides If you want to save the world you go right ahead don't berate others when they are trying to discover new things.
OK, now what about something reconstructing it's self after being damaged? That would probably require replication on a microscopic level similar to organisms.
Excellent work. Though I'm sure this will be fairly expensive.. but honestly well worth the price because of the long term use. And they have indeed just scratched the surface. There are incredible applications and possibilities of it. This can go towards even health uses.
What about summer days in the sun? At noon, UV exposure from the sun is very high, especially in certain places in the world. Will the whole car's polymer coating turn to liquid?
I wonder if we could make something like this for living organisms. I mean, if we can already grow organs in laboratory-controlled conditions why couldn't someone think of something that will speed up our natural healing processes? Just imagine how awesome that would be. Or maybe how awesome it WILL be, who knows :)
seriously annoynmus must be right, the government has to have a botnetwork set up that tries to sway public opinoin, because whoever that guy is that disliked this seriously must be a bot.

This is cool and all but if the car w/ this material were left outside on a hot day, wouldnt it melt off? idk im not an expert....

@fsystem No, YOU are the one who is ridiculous. The ability to Regenerate comes from evolution, so no credits to God there.

@dreadwagk so where does evolution come from?

But when you scratch the molecules away from the surface how could they ever rearrange in the right position again, when they're not there anymore?
D1vinus 10 months ago 18
@D1vinus Then you'd add new molecules..

@D1vinus How does water rearrange itself when you scratch that?
RandomAwe 9 months ago
@RandomAwe Water is a liquid. Molecules in liquids are not 'arranged' in a certain way. (Except for Hydrogen Bonds)
D1vinus 3 months ago
@D1vinus Well yah but I think it's for simple scratches like me running a key along the paint where the molecules only get pushed not taken off.

@D1vinus Im sure im completely wrong but it looks as if UV rays melt the polymer causing it to rearrange back into its original look.

That's pretty cool. So many applications, but what happens when the material needs to be disposed of? Is it biodegradable?

Since self healing is a considerable attribute towards durable I wonder how hard it is to make scratches on the product to begin with.
