  • Always love there leads. Love this song

  • fredrik thordendal is the driving force behind a lot of the lyrics and music...and you can bet your ass he knows his psychedelics well.

  • Theyre fucking Great live ;D

  • 2:28 is the vocalist an android ?

  • lol @ thumbnail

  • This song should be called "strings played at random".The time signature of this song is just mindblowing! :D

  • Next time if they come to my country i will buy a bag of weed and smoke it before the gig. It will be the best 1 hour of my life.

  • the singer sounds beastly even live.. wow!

  • lead singer need a good punch in the face!!

  • Anybody else get an uncontrollable urge to knock that obnoxious and Satanoidish growler out. Boy, don't let me get close to that fuckstick. Lights out for that wannabe.

  • @Youwishyoucouldplay tweeker troll tweeker troll tweeker troll tweeker troll tweeker troll tweeker troll tweeker troll tweeker troll tweeker troll tweeker troll tweeker troll tweeker troll tweeker troll tweeker troll you haven't quit meth like you claim, this guy would rock you btw

  • Thomas actually said he smokes pot from time to time but never before a show. Which makes him more badass than anyone out there.

  • Love the ending... it gives me goose bumps (or what its called)

  • what a terrible crowd. look at em, theyre just standing there. its fuckin meshuggah, get crazy!

  • true story.

  • yeah well i was there and it rules. meshuggah rule.

     woop woop

  • the audio quality is a joke. this is unlistenable

  • I wonder how often they trip balls while their on stage. Much like Jimi or Floyd. I don't think I could handle that shit.

  • who knows man, everyone looks like they're on something, especially Jens, Tomas has to be on Coke to play like that nonstop

  • @punxuntilwedie No he Tomas said in an interview that he never drink or some anything before a show.

  • @punxuntilwedie

tomas has never done any drugs or drank while playing because he cant concentrate well enough to play this shit

  • @punxuntilwedie According to an interview with Tomas here on youtube, they do smoke weed in their spare time. But Tomas is completely sober every show.

  • @punxuntilwedie Don't know if you're joking, but... Actually 99% (or even more) of rock musicians are totally sober not only onstange, but most part of the touring time. That's their job, you know, and messing up isn't good for them. But yeah, creating this mystique around musicians thinking of how drunk or high they are makes the whole thing more interesting. Specially for the "showbiz".

  • @punxuntilwedie Actually he wouldnt pass on a joint but he sais that he would never do it before a show :)

  • @punxuntilwedie tomas said in an interview that he only smokes weed, but never before an show ;D

  • they've actually said they never smoke before they go on stage. when they do, they do it after.

  • tomas has said that he doesnt drink or do drugs before he goes on stage says he couldent play what he does if he was blazed

  • I think you have to be tripping balls to play half the shit they do...

  • @punkrockdrummer they re just sedish man, ahahah no but a see a video from totally high on LSD

  • @Cloc817 never

  • @Cloc817

if you need drugs to enjoy your music, you're doing it wrong

  • @MilitantOldLady I don't need drugs to enjoy it! Only to enhance it ;)

  • @Cloc817 no way man they're too tight for that shit. have you heard the alive album? waayyyyyyyy too tight to be off it

  • lolol good one

  • @rrdrums110

    just kill yourself

  • meshuggah lo mejor .......

    sin komparacion

    ademas el tema increible todo.....

  • Best band ever...

  • example 1 of a band who are too good...

  • i'm pretty new to the net and this is fuckin ace!i was there....long live Meshhuggah!Wee need them on the mainstage tho.Fuck emo...Donington is all about the metal!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • can never get enough of these guys

  • These guys are pretty awesome. I really enjoy metal bands that have great musical talent like this.

  • lame ass crowd... i'd be going nucking futs if I were there

  • rrdrums110 = spam

  • Fuck you. You need to have a greater understanding in music to understand and appreciate Meshuggah, wich seemingly you do not posses. I pity your failure at life, my good sir.

  • i dont want to imply that i'm better than others, but what you wrote is actually true, it's easy for some folks to say that this is random noise, wrong times 109

  • lol is it supposed to be a lame trolling?

  • go listen to blink182

  • noob XD

  • O_o WHOA I like how jens gets all possessed and lost in the song at the end of the vid,HALE MESHUGGAH!!!

  • morgan played w/ zappa.

  • this is the same one that is on the Nothing rerelease extended features isnt it? this is such an awesome song and an even better album. Fredrik Thordendal let me marry you

  • haake is on a different level

  • 4 min and 30 sec of rithm...this is rithm not music

  • Meshuggah is definitely music. Very complex, intricate and polyrhythmic music - but music nonetheless.

Your untrained ears and feeble mind just can't understand it, so don't go making these kinds of comments when you have nothing to back it up with.

  • yeah polyRYTHMIC.. as i tell before...this is rithm i don't hear any melodies and this is the point. Music for me is a melody wich tell you something not a guy screaming shit all the time.shit music

  • I respect your opinion, but it's a fact that these people are very talented and skilled musicians. For what it's worth, I've been playing for over 6 years and I still can't get my head around these rhythms.

    Everyone has different tastes :)

  • they're skilled in rithm, but go look at musician like Dream theater or stratovarius or symphony x or soilwork or unexpect or opeth and others.... they're all skilled in rythm but also in musicality. I play guitar over 6 years and meshuggah is easy to play, really. And dude, my mind is more open than yours

  • I don't really see this argument is worth pursuing, but I'd like to mention the fact that DT, Opeth and Stratovarius are some of my favorite bands :3

  • ohh, that's great, but meshuggah is not like those bands xD

  • I believe Meshuggah is in a league of its own, I'm not saying they're better or worse. I guess it's like marmite, you either love it or you hate it. But I definitely like Meshuggah!

  • dude pls dont tell me that 3:42 is not melodic. maybe its not ur taste of music but there are many people that are touched by this music very deeply. listen eg to dancers to discordant system... this is not melody that you are used to but if everybody stuck to oldfashioned harmonys we would end up like modern pop taking over the classical keys. i guess 95% of the people watching this hear the melody. and you think ur openminded nor hearing anything? btw he screams very intelligent lyrics...

  • Couldn't agree with you more. The lyrics to Dancers are some of the best I've ever heard/seen. If people would ever give it a chance and hear them or look them up, they would realize...

  • Did you just put Soilwork and Meshuggah on the same level? No offense, and I like Soilwork, but they are NOT on the same level that Meshuggah is, musically speaking.

  • Don't pull Dream Theater into this, I've not heard many bands shitter than Dream Theater. How you can even write Dream Theater and Meshuggah on the same page without it being disrespectful is beyond me.

  • Do you actually know that Tomas Haake considers Mike Portnoy (DT's drummer) as one of his major influences? pity you.

  • H33 H33, dis Ni99a sed rubbish, lik3 ya moms

  • @TheModCon you're hilarious

  • @mooch666 If you like DT good for you but I don't see what all the hype is about really. It's really old sounding and boring for me.

  • @TheModCon your retarded

  • @SixxHundredSixtySixx I'm talking about Dream Theater not Meshuggah.

  • That' according to Wikipedia, but I haven't actually heard him even mentioning Portnoy in any interviews. Haake sometimes uses these so called "MP fills" (like RLRLBB), but then, a lot of drummers do. Others than that, I really don't see the resemblance.

  • What about necrophagist then?? On your page?? how much melody comes out of the lead singers mouth= zero, your just a little 14 yr old small dick no pubed kid, who couldn't possibly understand the concept of polyrhythms, in time when your balls get hair, you will learn.

  • oh, muhammad suicmez is a very skilled guitarist, not like meshuggah guitarist, "come on guys let write a song, oh i have found this riff so gay, i repat this for 4.30 minutes" and the guitar for this track is do. fuck you Polyrhythm is the simultaneous sounding of two or more independent rhythms, not like meshuggah.

  • oh, i have necrophagist on my page because i like the guitarist, not the music he's doing.

  • RHYTHM, retard

  • How is 3:15 to the end of the song not melodic?

  • wow, and this for you is melodic? 3 notes repeated for 30 sec? hey dude if u like this ok, but imo this is too repetitiveee i need changes in the track.

  • listen to meshugga's guitarist's Frederik Thordendal's solo works if you want some fucked up insane melodies and chords changing every two seconds, he's like Allan Holdsworth, but more evil.

Meshuggah is not about chord progressions, it's all about rhythms, rhythms and rhythms, damn it

  • props

  • And the most beautiful riff in the end...

  • the song itself is beautiful, well beautifully brutal to say the least

  • Maybe if you're lucky. remember no extreme trauma, no great art.

  • lol

  • you know jeff, i'd love to show you how easy that hero song is, but i can't make it all the way through without falling asleep....

  • oh wait i got it, ill go get some meth and have a few drinks, then i can b good enough to play it just like you, right jeff? or maybe i we all become hypocritical, racist, white-trash, homophobic, cynical, souless shells of a human being like you. then will i be able to possess the mighty drumming powers of which you speak?

  • Where's the solo? And where is one hotshot that wants to tackle that Hero song?

  • I'm here until your chickenshit ass blocks me.But until then I'm going to tell you that meshuggah and Hack are b/s amateur sounding jerkoffs. tell the growler to stuff another dick up his ass. He doesn't growl in a high enough range w/just the one cock stuffed down his throat. Finally where is a hack drumsolo? Can't /won't do one?

  • Whaaa Whaaa. Whiney little bitch siting at his computer with nothing but his memories, some harsh words and a dick in his hand.

  • no man the dick is in his mouth, thats all he can ever talk about is someones dick in someone else's mouth

  • I concur.

  • Yea SiC. I thought I was the only one that noticed that all Jeff ever thinks and replies with has something to do with homosexuality.

  • Punx...There is no Devil? isn't that the greatest trick he ever pulled off?

  • What is superior metal? Machine shops garbage trucks and rhino mating call sounds. On the personal server space is limited.

  • Hi. I believe you are small minded and talk nothing but shit. A musician who judges a band on commercial success has no credibility. Also, your spelling and diction is awful for a 57 year old and you seem quite bitter that it is not you who is up on that stage.

  • thanks! you know wtf you're talking about unlike that baby

  • what is "superior" metal?

  • A Yid name for a Swedish band. Nice. These dudes are crazy!!!Crazy to think they matter in any scheme of musical thing.Wikipedia says they're most commercial success sold them about 61k albums. Likw wow dude we're all so impressed. But that's pretty good for a shit metal band. Don't you think. they ought to be grateful someone is losing money backing their pathetic ass. Go to the zoo and catch a male rhino sreaming for Rhin puss and you have the next Meshuggah album.

  • Metal sounds better when created by machine shops and garbage trucks. They have better rythm and groove precisely. They don't wear faggot glove gloves. They don't get lip piercings or dick rings and don't have meth habits. You don't have to give em undeserved royalties and free cymbals. They don't take up cyber space w/useless info. They actually serve a useful purpose. so don't say or believe rrdrums insn't into metal. I'm just into the most superior kind.

  • Cyberspace can't be "taken up", It's unlimited. That's why its "cyber" space.

  • damn fuckin shit i hate it when they cut the damn video 2 times in a second!!

i mean cmon i wanna see the musicians, the drummer, the guitar and bass players and the singer for more then 5 secs when i watch this video! -.- goddamn!

  • relax EVERYONE, ignore rrdrums110.

  • your existance is useless

  • he's UNDERATED Asshole. Fuck Off My Vid

  • There is no Devil. this band does not mention satan at all, you call YOURSELF a Musician. let's see you play anything nearly as good as this. odd timing, great music. fuck off bitch

  • Odd timing? not really, occasional they fall from 4/4 but mostly all their songs are in 4/4. They use a lot of polyrhythms. pretty fucked up shit

  • haha your fucking retarded. this doesnt have shit to do with anarchy and alot of these bands consist of the realest people you'll ever come across. maybe thats why it comes off as immature because you dont understand it.. ill tell you whats disgusting and talentless.. all the rappers that do nothing but use fruity loops and sound like they're sucking on a fat cock.

Oh, you really DO have to know how to play an instrument to play this stuff. But thats just it, you just dont (continued)

  • Wow. This is the gayest stream of comments I've come acroosed so far. haha. Queensryche is the only one of those worth mentioning. lol. Meshuggah is the one we should be talking about.

  • hahaha agreed brother, agreed.

  • This isn't an IM service.

  • Reality is bleak enough w/out yu reminding me what time it is everytime I turn around. But nobody and I mean nobody drew the ladies out and I mean the finest more than Rod Stewart.

  • Yeah, women certainly found him appealing, but I think Don Henley with the Eagles might give him a run for his money. Today, it's Justin Timberlake.

  • Dyran duran draws more than those guys or at least did. I know . Asia?hahah

  • Yeah...in the '80s. It's 2009, bro.

  • So that's the only existing solution? The chasm of acts to tour is that extreme? You must be inciting me on purpose. No we have Nickleback remember. Don't we have some mainstream rock acts like maybe a Queensrych reunion or something? I know I just saw a Duran Duran ad for Orange County soon. ASk my friend took me to see them at the top of their heyday at the LA Forum.1983??Smoking good band but you couldn't hear a thing except between the waves of screaming adulation. Beatles adulation!!

  • A Queensryche reunion would be sick, but I think Nickelback's terrible and no one draws more women than Jonas Bros, Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, and Kelly Clarkson. Just like N'Sync and the Backstreet Boys in the '90s.

  • fuck attention, fuck popularity, it means nothing in the end. go listen to your pop bs and get the fuck off my video

  • Relax. I was trying to make rrdrums110 look like an idiot (which he is) so he'd leave, but it was fruitless. I'm a metal fan, including Meshuggah.

  • Stop w/the rhetorical questions. Just admit you like concerts that women want to attend please.

  • Sorry, I don't like Jonas Brothers and Taylor Swift concerts.

  • I saw a good view of another messugah

concert of the audience. I'm w/the women on this one. You know the women that want nothing to do w/this shit or for the most part the immature males that want to be involved in this social outcast club.

  • So what if metal fans are mostly male?

The vast majority of pro drummers are male, too. Does that mean drumming itself is for immature males?

  • the vastness of this music. if you payed attention to what they're doing it would open your eyes. idk what this whole bullshit is about you being with the women, because there are women that go to these shows and some of them are fucking hot. broaden your horizons a little bit. this is an art form, not another pointless rap song.

  • Actually, I relate this to Webern's music...an extreme display of an idea in art form for its own sake. Like it or hate it, it takes guts and a lot of practice to pull this off and Meshuggah has influenced a ton of metal and prog bands today.

  • i don't really like Jens vocals on Destroy Erase Improve and Chaosphere. There a lot better now

  • crazy lyrics, and couldn't be closer to exact truth! Second half of the song is epic on its own level! favorite meshuggah song bar none.

  • in my opinion his vocals are way better now, hes good as hell

  • When it comes to vocals I prefer jens' old singing style (none/destroy erase improve) era.Listen to those albums, his vocals are more dynamic yet still aggressive. Now he just screams, and its just bland.

  • i'd have to agree.... hope he goes back... it would make the shugg just that much more awesome

  • thats true, but meshuggahs music is changing too

now some will say they are more heavy and death metal

so jens vocals are changing to fit that genre to

  • they are definately not just heavy metal haha

  • this band is genius. love these guys. -Zack

  • Awesome. Like I've said before though, I think Jens needs to vary his vocal style a bit once in a while, it makes all the songs sound too similar.

  • we flow suspended in semi-life

    Until the ever imminent day

    when oblivion claims our breath

Nowhere indefinitely. Not dead, not alive

  • video is a failure. only because this is one of my favorite meshuggah songs due to the melodic almost emotional solo at the end which is followed by that "don't forget we're the heaviest band on the planet" open string F at the end of the song which the video cuts off. how could you leave out the single most epic note in this song? strong wtf

  • i agree with you, but blame the orginal editors

  • You mean that "after all, we just proved that we're the best band on the planet" open string F at the end of the song? :D

  • Fredrik is lettin in on a small piece of his soul in that solo. I get chills every time i hear it. Love it when he bends or stretches that last note. Incredible band breakin new ground every album.

  • I couldn't agree more, its such an amazing solo but yet so simple, it just feels as if it has come from deep inside, so emotional, I absolutely love it, pure genius

  • epic!

  • I know it's not your fault punxuntilwedie, but the editing SUCKS on this video >_>

  • what's wrong with the editing specifically? thanks

  • Check out the first part - the camera never lingers on an image or person for more than a second. It's frustrating to watch with it flitting everywhere, mainly between Tomas and Jars. Like I said, not your fault but frustating :P

  • thanks, i see, all i did was add the opening titles and the credits, come check out my other vids if you want, thanks

  • 2005 was a fantastic year for metal!

  • Shame I was still only listening to Guns and Roses and Bon Jovi then...

  • Manliest voice ever IMO. Such a great group!

  • hahah search "meshuggah backstage". They're so god damn childish xD

  • hey man theyre a band having fun its normal shit lol

  • So? I did'nt say its something wrong with that? I like that with my band aswell!

  • So? I didnt say it was something wrong with that? We have a strange humour ourselves in my band.

  • great man, but there is already a version of this up. still, the more the merrier

  • MESSHUGAH in mah coffee!!!!!!

    that was awesome

  • AWESOME!!!!

    Meshuggah is the best..

    Awesome video!

  • very cool

  • Meshuggah!
