Norquist is living in a dream land and has a radical corporate agenda. He stated that the ONLY reason jobs are going overseas is because of the tax rates. NOT TRUE. They go overseas because of cheap labor. He states that people relocate to other states because of the taxes of that state. WRONG AGAIN. In this economy, people are moving to states where jobs are. A lot of Republicans object to his pledge, (especially in regard to job creation), and Norquist uses false analogies in every argument. Sad that such an airhead (Norquist) is such a hero. What we do need, though, is tax relief in the middle brackets together with more progressive rates in (more) higher brackets. The middle income brackets get hit hard by having to pony up for college education, mortgages, etc. with no assistance, i think. Our tax rates are too hard on the middle income levels. Those aspiring to get there see themselves as being potentially slapped down.

I cant believe he is saying raising taxes at this time will be good.7 of 10 jobs here are from small business. Raising taxes on the RICH means raising there taxes too. In my town there has been tons of development of new buildings. Many of them have been empty, some for 3 years now. Places like dry cleaners, small retail, etc wont open there, because there investment would yield no return. These people don't have the capital that bureaucrat's think. They depend on credit just to meet payroll.

David I think you might want to reread every book regarding the great depression and even take a look at the growth numbers in 92-93. I knew some people in this country really had no clue about how to create growth inside a economy, but quite honestly I never have felt so damn embarrassed for someone on television. Raising taxes on anyone during a downturn in the economy would stunt growth period. Growth can only come from the private sector, not government spending no matter how you spin it.
