  • Sounds like a Justin Bieber's song

  • twang twang twang twang twang twang twang twang twang twang

  • looks like modified dildo.

  • That robot sucks dick at playing guitar...

  • too robotic for my liking.....

  • nice, but guys cmon this is MIT, your using some basic stamp with 6 servo's...

  • Comment removed

  • More like just automatic E11

  • wow, lame.

  • I expected more from MIT, honestly :)

  • its not guitar plaing

  • i used to play like that..... then you know, an arrow

  • @bzmotoninja83 That doesn't make sense, you don't need your knee to play the guitar...

  • @bzmotoninja83 i dont get it...

  • @bzmotoninja83 wow for all those gay little faggots that say arrow to the knee really ts getting old and just stop man its not cool you are just trying to get all the stupid troll friends because you know youll never have any soo get a life

  • @TheSherkieman

It's not old and it's still cool, I still laugh at it. And by the way, gay is not an insult, and merely shows your intelligence, or lack thereof.

  • looser!

  • but you're playing the same not e continuosly Machine: One note is all that is needed

  • so it just plays 1 fircken note? thats the most retarded guitar ever.I can do better then that! and i dont even play the guitar!!!

  • But does it blend?

  • WOWW!!!!! Rock Music!!!

  • This is what 36k of annual tuition gets you these days...

  • cool musik!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what a waste..

  • I must say, that's the most interesting place to put such a guitar.

  • Half-finished project? I hope so.

  • Вот писец как гениально!

  • Where's John Belushi (John Blutarsky) you need him!

  • I could get a better music by strangling a cat!

  • @EscapeNewJersey that, sir or madam, is because you are a human, not a machine. at least, i assume so...

  • this is bullshit. i´m a guitarplayer and i´m telling you: dont build robots playing guitar!

  • @tob34 you damn right I played electrical guitar for 12 years and now I'm studying robotics engineering and it's stupid idea to build musician robots

  • wow... that's kinda neat, HOW MUCH?

  • what a joke... hire me i'll sit there and strum open strings allday for 10 bucks an hour

  • lol its a Dean.

  • Why dislike this can change the world !!

  • @xXsilencXx60 Yeah, for the worst. Making people more and more of the fat, lazy crap we are becoming.

Even less movement and creativity, we all need that. Sure.

  • i've been waiting something way cooler from MIT :)

  • Pretty much an annoyance machine.

  • Polymer mixing whisk + low rmp electric screwdriver + power outlet

There, I probably got a few points off for laziness, but I pretty much achieved the same thing....

  • I hope this guy doesn't get hired by a guitar company, he might know the mechanics, but he's also completely tone deaf. And by that I mean any music he makes should be marketed to deaf people....

  • That was just one chord over and over...I mean...

  • This can be made to do the same with a crude wobulator made up with an electric moter and a coat hanger.

  • This can be made to do the same with a crude wobbulator made up with an electric moter and a coat hanger.

  • but can it tune it?

  • That sounded like complete shit. Good to know money is wasted on thing's like this.

  • How MIT students imagine the art :D

  • CRAP

  • using rc servos? that's idiotic. plastic gears and brush motors will last one day at that use

  • its for people with only one hand.

  • @S4Lrobin or for people with veeeery low claims in music XD

  • its for people with only ine hand.

  • this video sucks do a good video notice me and i will put a like but this video sucks

  • @Auslander999 whats mit?

  • @TasteForDisaster MIT is one of the best and prestigious universities in the world. It's best known for it's science, technology and mathematics. It's in massachusetts, united states.

  • this is the best guitar performance I saw in my entire life

  • I was expecting something a bit more akin to a player piano. I could see someone at MIT actually doing that with a guitar.

  • someone actually devoted their time to that?

  • I shit better projects than this.

  • Wonder what percentage of you guys leaving negative comments have ever been to MIT or the Media Lab...

  • wow, useless.. strum strum strum lol

  • still looks like a guitar thou -.-

  • Wow. Cliffs of Dover. Heh. It's nice. I like playing it, but it's actually not a song that requires a lot of skill.

  • wow! thats how they play guitar in MIT !!

  • Hahaha, they did that with an old parallax Board of Education microcontroller! I've got one of those sitting on my desk right now.

  • are you kidding me, that can be made with a 30$ pneumatic cylinder.

  • can it play through fire and flames

  • @warmaster1001 no not that thats for kids that play guitar hero to think that its hard u want to play something like cliffs of dover

  • Or you could get a lego gear thing, attach a pick to the end of it, and put it on a motor.

  • como invento esta bien, pero es una basura

  • como invento esta bien, pero es un basura

  • What a crock of shit. You probably had to be there.

  • Upsss Windows just crashed! damnnn :)

  • @ebouwman034

Oh, no man, as in it would be hard to get up there and tune it.

  • Must be a real bitch to tune that thing

  • @ledzeppelin2468 you pic a string and tune it.... why so hard?

  • the Borg assimilated my guitar!!

  • wired. mit kids seem more likely to make a machine that will strum, pick, and fret the guitar. this is just a motor with an arm

  • is it a BS2 Parallax microcontroller?!

  • sounds alittle creepy though lol

  • stupid shitness

  • that would get annoying.

  • can i get the tab for this please?

  • can i get the tab for this please?

  • Wow the last I checked acustic is not surposed to be electric but I think this uses more power then an big amp. LOL

  • @drumlar6 lots of "acustics" have electronics to amplify them in clubs and cafes ect.

  • I HAVE THAT GUITAR. DEAN EXOCTICA

  • Can it also sight read?

  • why that much hardware if it's gonna just play that -__- one motor would be enough for that

  • someone did it better using cool lego mindstorm technic pieces!

  • Someone did this better with using fucking LEGO pieces!

  • wow a guitar for one armed people!

  • Your comment made me laugh my ass off. Well put. Thanx

  • put it in an interrogation room....

    they will talk!

  • Your Hysterical. Thanks for the laugh

  • pretty useless considering it can't play any songs.

  • it pleases me to see that our nations best and brightest go to MIT to fuck shit up like this... good job america

  • @rainraindontgoaway

qqq I don't understand circuits so I can fuck and drink my cash away but people who do should always be super cereal.

  • Wow. I have never laughed so much as I have today. I was looking up gadgets for my guitar and came across this clip. your comment is so true I couldnt keep from laughing for about 10 minutes. I had to share this wilth all my friends. Thanx

  • You would think with that much hardware they could have made something that did more than play a couple notes over and over again. I guess MIT has seriously lowered their standards.

  • Well that would get annoying after about maybe 10 seconds.

  • the guitaur sound constipated!

  • HA AH HA HA HA ROlMAO

    Thanks

  • I've seen some really cool player violins that actually do play real songs (obviously with fingering). They use rosined wheels instead of a bow.

  • What's all that electronic stuff for? Just fo play that particular cord? If so, that could have been achieved with sinple wheel.

  • What? What did you just say?

  • I apologise for my english. Allow me to write it again....

What's the function of the microcontroller in that mechanism? Is it just fo turn the wheel so it can play that particular cord? If this is true, I think that the same result could've been achieved with a simple wheel driven by a motor.

  • Oh, okay. Was just wondering, but I'm not exactly sure there friend.

  • Lame. I would be more impressed if they could make it finger chords and stuff. That would be much better.

  • lol, why not just mount a drill with a few picks glued to the ends and be done. I hope this is Music Institute TEch and not the real MIT. lol

  • ....that is a total piece of crap quite honestly......a micro chip? what for it doesnt do anything

all it does is strum, they could at least tune the damn thing to a nice chord rather than the usual tuning.

  • LMAO it just keeps strumming the open strings over and over again

  • leave music to musicians

  • Check RHYTHMTANDEM for another rare instrument.

  • I do not really see how this is so.. "amazing".

I mean that MIT probably could make it more amazing if this automated guitar was able to produce an already know song instead of just scratches..

But of course I do not mean that is easy to do smt like this!

  • lol

  • That would be awesome for a one armed guitarist. needs tuning mind.

  • MIT actually waisted money and time on some shit like this???

    You're kidding me, right?

And yes, eurorail.... You could accomplish the same thing with $3:00 in parts...

    Crap..

  • Odds are, MIT didn't fund this. This is probably something somebody made and just shoved on top of the door.

People around here make random things and display them on their own time.

  • @FLAMBERTY It's called a "hack". MIT kids make random creative technical things and put them on nearby pieces of infrastructure as a pastime. :)

  • That is exactly how I would expect a machine to sound, playing the guitar

  • morons. i can do that with $3 in parts... and it sounds awful. shame on you for wasting time and money on intellectual masturbation that pays your grants.
