@calimerette62 Actually, Elizabeth was showing concern for Georgiana. Darcy had told her the truth about Wickham in that letter to her and it included the fact that the man tried to get Georgiana to elope with him and then dropped her like a hot potato. Georgiana was hurt a lot by that so Wickham being brought up in conversation there was hurtful to her. Darcy, who cares about his sister a lot, was about to go to her but Elizabeth got there first; proving she cares for those that he cares for.

1st: This is not the dinner that Lizzie & the Gardiners were invited to. Lizzie & Mrs. Gardiner went to Pemberly to return the great honor of Georgiana's early visit on her arrival to Derbyshire, by waiting on her; so no piano playing in the book; Mr. Gardiner went to fish with the men @ Pemberly. Lizzie's emotions are tortured and she is amazed @ Darcy's change.

2nd: Caroline did not dare to mention Wickham by name because she knew that if she did that, she would not be welcome back.
