I understand vansfreek; there are moments in the race where the whole Clinton (Potential first Female President) and Obama (Potential first Black President) race has focused more on the 'history in the making' concept rather than the issues that both candidates promise to uphold if they win the election in Nov. But there are some people who are pretty much tired of the GOP in office and would much rather see the war come to an end & to see this country get back on track. IMHO, Obama can do it.

Yes, I understand why people might be tired of the GOP. But the thing is, The Obama and Hillary advocate tax hikes, socialized medicine, and increased spending. With where our economy is right now, that is the last thing we should be doing. We need to cut taxes AND spending, which is what McCain espouses. We need to fuel economic growth by lowering the tax rate for everyone and cutting entitlement programs. President Bush spent WAY too much, that's why he's called a "neocon."

President Bush is a "neocon," because of his stance on lower taxes, higher spending, and bigger government, aside from the traditional conservative stances of lower taxes, lower spending, and smaller government. Too many people now see the government as the source of their rights, not as the protector of said rights. Free markets and free enterprise, low taxes, secure borders, and offense in the War on Terror is what America is ready for.

Too many people associate "neocons" with all conservatives, which is not right, because they're totally different. I really hope McCain holds true to his promises to cut taxes, spending, and secure the border. I am certain he will remain on offense in the War on Terror because he is a war hero. Though McCain is an American hero, I'm very skeptical of his promises, given his moderate/liberal history. However, I believe he is a far better choice than Barack Obama.

A lot of people, I'm not accusing you, don't realize cutting taxes creates government revenue. Basic economics right there. Raising taxes is detrimental to economic growth. If we cut wasteful entitlement programs, which is 60% of Federal spending, the deficit will decrease, and the economy will begin to boom. We need to cut taxes to spur investors, which will create a larger pool of wealth and more jobs. I was originally for Romney, but now I have to put my trust in McCain to get it done.

Yes, he is very intelligent, articulate, and charismatic, but those are personality traits. I'm looking for experience, judgement, and conviction. The Obama just doesn't cut it.
