@TheWhiteshephard Egbabonelimwin means clapping for the spirits. In this vein, when the spirits(masquerades) come out, we should all clap and appreciate what they do. This is both as spiritual as it's physical.
We Africans all over the world now need a family reunion. We will reclame our greatness only thereafter. We will saellall that Africa has to offer. The cultural practices we seek outside reside inside Africa, where they began.
NOW I KNOW, CAPOEIRA COME FROM AFRICA BUT BORN IN BRAZIL! (the warrior is it father, the dances is it sister, the music is it borther AND AFRICA IS IT MOTHER; WE CALL IT "CAPOIERA")! REMEMBER IT, FREEDOOOOOOOOM!
this pure and applied trado-cultural dance that has been done in the accient esan kingdom .... by warrios ... its date far far back 18bc n it has its roots from the african soil ... we r the best in all ... n that is final!! no dispute it was handed down from generations n till now it existance shows the responsiveness of the esan youths to embrace their culture holeheartedly ...
This culture and these brothers are truly amazing. They displayed spontaneous creativity out there an showed how melanated people boogy. Plus i never saw a cultural dance that expressed so many international dance styles all at once, plus the kung fu martial arts in there as well it was just amazing. This vid leaves no doubt in anyones mind who the originators or creators are.
this is to show that acrobatic does not come from the western world,we could see that the indigenius people from Edo State of Nigeria particularly from esan speaking are the originator of this so called acrobatic displayed.and of course they did it in syles
@SuperTosaAsian Because this ethnic group (Esan) have done this for as long as anybody can remember. So we are within our rights to say that it is (may be) the origin of this extreme form of acrobatic displays. How? because our people never had prior contact with the Chinese or other Asians before this was part of our cultural/traditional dance resume.
Greetings! Thanks for posting this beautiful performance of masquerade troupe. Demonstrations like these demonstrate both technical skill and ability and discipline of the performers. I recommend that these skills be taught to young African children world wide
These guys must be warriors! Their moves are incredible and so fluid. Origin of tap dance and break dance right here! Centre of the world: Africa!

All of our diasporan dances are African-period. We diasporans, other than folks like you and I, should stop being startled by this fact.
