If the B7 were mine..... it would go back to the shop for a more efficient turbo and a bigger intercooler..... Id be fu*king pissed I lost to a 3 series!!!!!
To my memory there was only 7 of these ever made? Or was it 6? And the same person has 5 of them and the other owner (my uncle) owns the other in New Zealand.
Sweet car! Reminds my of my childhood days. When I was around 6 or 7 years old our neighbour had a 635csi in red, he washed it every sunday (it was allowed back then :-) ) and I always watched him. Once I asked him, how much this car had cost and his answer was: 10 big packs of choclate, Ben...unbelievebly expensiver for me :-)) B7 is IMHO the most stylish car of all your videos...
e24 nice shape, but i heard gear grinding, lol keep it alive, beautiful car. i use to own a clean m6 i sold for 25k :( i also owned 1 e28m5 tricked, 3 euro e34m5 2 stock 1 nicely tricked with tons of power 550hp big bang for your buck cars, only problem with e24, parts. super hard to find even when they were new. i roll 2 e34's now one euro 535 acshnitzer 286hp and a modified e34 540TT
I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree
I'd take the old E24 over that M3 any day of the week; it's simply a better driver's car; less electronic nannies, better looking, and more class. Also, a hell of a lot cheaper. Well, maybe not a B7, but you could get a decent M6, or even the revered M635CSi for well under 15 grand.
"moneycarshoes35" yes that is what you are seeing. The cluster of led lights in the tail lights is expanded to illuminate more when the anti-lock braking system detects a deceleration of greater than 5m/s. It is also important to note that only deceleration can turn the lights on not how hard you are pushing on the brake pedal. This system has been availible in the US from around may 2004 on and just got the ok from Europe and Australia to start using the system
correct me if im wrong but at 0:47 another set of break lights came on on the m3...is that the new break intesity lighting? (they turn on during hard breaking) thanks
i dont care how slower is this then the m3 id fucking want it more !

Doesn't matter a shit if it's slower-it's a BMW back from the days when they still had an ounce of class and that makes it the winner...

cool video, very interesting comparison. i have the impression the B7 almost catches up when boost is fully built up. spectacular oldschool-turbo :)

Beautiful, I prefer the E28 Alpina B7 Turbo over the E24, but both are amazing cars and a blast on the road.

That's one beautiful Alpina B7. That's my favorite interpretation of a tuned E24.

I was hoping there would be a B7 in this collection of Alpinas. Cool stuff, out of curiosity what does .2 bar translate to in psi?
LuckyDT 2 years ago
well 1 bar is 14 psi
bfiane 2 years ago
Not to be nitpicky but 14.5 to be exact typically... Tis why I asked ;)
LuckyDT 2 years ago
How much would a Alpina B7 turbo like that cost nowadays? And how is its mpg? (LOL I know lame questions, but I am intrigued!)
TripleZ89 2 years ago
Did not expect the old Alpina to be that fast. It was practically as fast as the new M3.
