Whilst the Polar Bear does not live on land specifically it is agreed that the Polar Bear is a land predator. Look wherever you like noone will tell you the polar bear is anything other than a land predator.

@MrFeatherr the polar bear doesnt predate ON LAND nor does it predate on other LAND MAMMALS. so it cant be a land predator. it is really only bigger than the kodiak bear during winter, when it can get plenty of seals to eat. now their weight has dropped severely, & I doubt if a recent weight examination was taken, it would still be the largest mammalian carnivore.

It does, it's very rare in fact for a polar bear to hunt in water, they might hunt things that are from the water but that's completely different, it's like saying that humans who only eat fish are not land mammals
You can't compare a polar and kodiak bear, kodiak bears weights are relatively unknown as few have ever been weighed.
Plus polar bears have a bigger body not just weighed i.e. taller and longer. Brown bears in terms of body size not including weight are smaller than lions and tigers

Well you might have it doesn't matter but in terms of body size it is quite true, only on their hind legs do brown bears stand taller, and their round bodies may make them appear bigger. Certainly they are in terms of weight, but for height and length they are not bigger and are certainly not bigger than the polar bear.
This is silly. Polar Bears are classed as land predators, not ice predators they are the largest land carnivore. Check your sources please.

@hoyfanofboulder That is far from the truth. The strengths between these two cats are very comparable...depending on which subspecies you are referring to. A 480 lb Bengal Tiger is certainly as strong if not a bit stronger than a fully grown Male Lion. It all comes down to the individuals.

A male lion has desire to kill anything in its way, whether its food or hyenas...so it would put up a serious fight for the tiger.
