I think it's you who doesn't know football. Yes, you had a decent passing game. However, Shaun Hill played exceptionally for a backup, and often he was throwing a lot because you guys were down. Furthermore, your Javid Best only ran for 500 last year. You guys didn't have a good offense; you ranked 17th in total yards.
Furthermore, you guys ranked 21st in overall defense. You guys may have a great D-line, but that alone does not make a complete defense.
The thing Detroiters don't realize is that most teams do have at least one star receiver and a few stars on defense. However, unlike the Lions, most teams have at least a decent supporting cast to help those guys out.

The Bears are doing just fine. They beat the shit out of Atlanta in week one, and they played really well against the Saints -even if the score didn't show it.
The Lions really aren't doing as well as you think. They beat up on two mediocre teams; the Chiefs also had a lot of injuries, and they were missing their Eric Berry, Jamal Charles, and Jonathan Baldwin. Don't get too excited. The Lions have a really tough schedule in the latter half of the season.
@keicher09 Tampa Bay is a good team, and the Lions smashed them. The Bucs got 7 points on an interception that was deflected by a Lion, and 3 more on a field goal as a result of a good kickoff return. The final score is no indication of how dominant the Lions were in that game. Furthermore, the Lions schedule is not bad at all. The only halfway decent AFC teams they play are the Chargers and Raiders. They played all the difficult teams last year.
Tampa Bay is not a good team. They barely got by the Vikings who, at this point in the season, seem like a pretty bad team. Furthermore, you cannot judge a team based on how they played in the first week of the season; some teams come to play, and others don't.
@keicher09 Everyone outside of Chicago knows that the Bears making it to the NFC championship last year was a fluke. I can be excited about the Lions all I want because they are looking as good as they have ever been in my lifetime. They haven't been 3-0 since 1990. Lions lost 7 games last year by less than a TD. They were competitive last year with a 3rd string QB & 2nd RB. Another thing that pisses me off is how the Lions' fans assume that their team is going to be good this year. You guys may have a good defensive line, but the rest of your defense is terrible.
Furthermore, your offense isn't that good either. Besides you don't have any receivers besides Calvin Johnson, and Best can't carry the offense for you. Lastly, I would not assume that Stafford is going to be good this year. He's been injured a lot and really hasn't had a chance to develop.

The Bears are doing just fine. They beat the shit out of Atlanta in week one, and they played really well against the Saints -even if the score didn't show it.
The Lions really aren't doing as well as you think. They beat up on two mediocre teams; the Chiefs also had a lot of injuries, and they were missing their Eric Berry, Jamal Charles, and Jonathan Baldwin. Don't get too excited. The Lions have a really tough schedule in the latter half of the season.

The Bucs got 7 points on an interception that was deflected by a Lion, and 3 more on a field goal as a result of a good kickoff return. The final score is no indication of how dominant the Lions were in that game. Furthermore, the Lions schedule is not bad at all. The only halfway decent AFC teams they play are the Chargers and Raiders. They played all the difficult teams last year.

@keicher09 Last year they played NYG, NYJ, Eagles & Patriots. Finished 6-10 (7-9) if you include that BS opener against the Bears that the refs gave to you. Lions lost 7 games last year by less than a TD. They were competitive last year with a 3rd string QB & 2nd RB. I think they will do well this year, and I think their schedule is also easier this year. I'm excited about it. Good luck with GB tomorrow.
