@CelineSSauve That isn't the point. The point is that he tried for a year and it fell on deaf ears. Only when he shoved it up their azz, did they want to come clean.  They were dishonest and stupid; they could have resolved this amicably but, in the end, lost more money from bad publicity than from replacing his guitar, which they should have done in the first place.

I have noticed the terror in the eyes of the United Employees every time my band and I take a plane with them. One time an employee pre-emptively chewed me out over her loudspeaker when she told us all that anyone with oversized INSTRUMENTS would have to put them in cargo and she saw me rol my eyes. She CHEWED me out in front of all the waiting customers. Someones touchy.

While the catalyst for this song is sad, they have made some lemonade from the bitter battle they had with United. These songs are just funny while telling a story that is all too familiar....someone breaking another person's property without feeling like they have any responsibiltiy to replace or repair that property. If United did take responsibilty, then maybe they wouldn't expect musicians to hand off their expensive instruments, but instead would allow space in a closet inside the plane.

Want to geat a REAL idea about the situation with United? They stole, seriously, my father-in-law's retirement fund. 30+ years, and they dumped it on the PBSC for pennies on the dollar - despite years of taking pay cuts and givebacks. I wish guitars were the only thing United has ruined.

It was at the security checkpoint but she had a United agent as a wheelchair assist to get her to the gate, and it was that agent that intiated all of the action without any direction to do so by the security people. It was on a Canadian/US flight so I could not take her to the gate as she was clearing customs. There was a big investigation from the security agency in which the film at the secuirty checkpoinit was pulled from 3 different angles and implicates United's agent.
