  • Electric piano???

Is it because the hal had only one grand and couldn't bring another one. Anyasys no problems in fact as it is really simple playing withno no real vibrato, etc.

  • @rickbmtl The original is a celesta part, and the orchestra does not own a celesta. We tried to borrow one once but it sounded worse than the sampled version! There is only the one piano part in this piece, unlike Tabu-Tabuhan.

  • I've been listening to this several times, and I still have that spooky feeling & tranquility at the same time. Miss the ricefields in bali....

  • I often imagined when Bali was still without electricity and people travel only on foot, thick with tropical vegetation and trees. Lighting is only from torch or bright moonlight. Imagine when we heard the sound of gamelan in such circumstances. What emotion and feeling are aroused in the heart?

  • Move over, Boulez!

  • Well, in his eighties he "discovered" the beauty of Janacek so perhaps he will discover the beauty of McPhee when he's 150 or so.

  • Beautiful piece, the pace was just right, not overly fast and it sounded ethereal, like it should! :P

  • Nice piece. I like this composer.

  • I love McPhee's music. Tabuh-Tabuhan is another classic of his music

  • please more mc phee videos! one of the most underestimated composers of the 20th century
