Seattle's tolerance of outsiders extends to fellow Oregonians and the hearty Alaskans, because of similiar mindsets. We are prejudiced to outsiders. The city is polluted and overpopulated. Traffic is a nightmare. People who move here lose their initial infatuation with the landscape and the ridiculous stereotypes of what Seattle is since Hollywood milked us. Our city has been sophisticated and robbed of what made Seattle unique. "Get back to where you once belonged..."
@Saoirse078 Don't move to my native city. Seattle natives resent our city being plundered by Californians foremost, and just about everyone else. We are incessantly annoyed by Northwest mongers. Seattle is slender and can't take anymore development. The freeways are a wreck and traffic is at a stand still. And once people settle in, they start complaining about the gray skies and rainy climate. Do our city a favor, visit if you'd like, but don't burden our boundaries.
(1) - I grew up in the (Beautiful) Seattle now sadly (smothered) under over-crowded sprawling development and (traffic choked streets). Where the Kent valley was predominently farmland - and marshes full of frogs and other wildlife. Where I-5 (S. Seattle) at 6:am on a Sun. morn. - you would see only 3 other cars.
(2) - Where crime (seemed to be) non-existant. Where the Univ. of Washington Huskies were the (main) sports focus. And (no one) could (possibly grasp) what Im talking about unless they actually experienced things (first-hand) - back (then). Thank god my growing-up years were spent in that (by-gone) (Paradise) compared to todays (crowded), (sprawling), and (over-developed) mess (in comparison) ! ! !
I went there for a few days..really spendy place to visit..seems every resturant thinks their some kind of special place to eat, advrage price for a meal is $35. Plain cup of coffee is $4. Homeless ppl everywhere..some of them quite scary..yelling,begging,blocking your way as you try to walk by them...I will never go back there...its just a highly over rated place to visit...
Lol i like it that people think it rains all the time in seattle. It drives people away from the city therfore keeping it less crowded and less poluted
if you come to Seattle, have breakfast with the guys from ''the jungle'' on thursdays at the Hurricane, good food, beer at 7am, and pinball, what else do you need to start the day, or end it in our case
fremont, the lake, gasworks park... there are so few cities i've been lucky enough to visit where i've been able to attribute so many positive things to. that whole corner of the world is one of the greatest places to see.

Seattle hasn't been cool since the early 90's. The influx of midwesterners fleeing that shitty area, combined with bay area yuppies moving up has absolutely ruined the culture of the city. There's a reason people have "native" bumper stickers still: because we hate you and can't wait till you all go home.
seattle is possibly the prettiest place i have ever been to. i can't imagine life without seattle. thank you.

I live here in Seattle.
Watching this video makes me realize how nice my city really is.
But I still hate the weather.
