@alritamaybe He is hearing there "Garryowen" and seeing his victims for eternity. Bad enough, that nowadays a lot of "custers" are still acting. All the best for you
I didn't know that this particular singer was making music professionally since 1964-found that fact out at All Music. I thought her 1974 album, Buffy, was her debut, which Dan Fogelberg, my musical hero played on! Peace and Love, BobbyK
The Sioux were enemies of our tribe at that time. You would be surprised to know that the scouts were not the only indians in the Army of the West. My own grandfather was killed trying to get Sioux scalps in the late twenties. I am glad we finally made peace with the Sioux. I have met some very good people in that nation and wish them all good health and happiness. Fred Jack Ghost of a Wolf (Chippewa)
Custer was a psychopathic jerk off who got what he deserved! Too bad so many brave men both warrior and soldier died so that America could be rid of this menace! He should have been fragged long before! Rest in Hell you son of a bitch!
As seen from most of your comments none of you know much of Custer. Courset the Sioux and Chyeyenne Indians fought him lost some to him and won the last before their destruction.
This is nothing but political correct hogwash and statements by white folks as well here that wished Custer would have been around in the 1860's-70's if they were alive back then.
I would venture to say none have read or studied about him and the battle of the Little Big Horn, the Washita in 68 and other campaigns.
i saw a pic of custer from the civil war. from the peacock i saw sittin on that horse, he truely was an arrogant chest puffer!! he had the most cocky expression..... until he hit the ground in Montana.
yep the song appeared actually originally on Johnny Cash's album 'Bitter Tears' in 1964. I don't know whether it's one of his own songs or one of the Peter LaFarge-covers he got on there, anyone else knows?
Buffy only sang some of the verses, but it's awesome to see her cover that great little tune.
hahaha yeah poor guy, finding out what its like to be killed and touched by a WARRIOR instead of the usual defenseless people he would normally exterminate...he got rubbed the fuck out,

Custer literally thought of himself as invincible because of his heroics in the Civil War.The Souix and Cheyenne proved him wrong.
