I do pro-flight, and dodging is a pain. The problem is that I've tried getting back to normal flight, but can't get used to it again. And I need a medal for getting MG kills with the Warhawk....
Instead of hitting hover to put your reticule over the target, just keep flying after them. It saves time, and keeps you free of locks. And it's easier.
true that bro, I use hover alot during my battles, it's almost just as important to know when to hover as it is to know how to dodge...and I fly proflight though so my dodging is harder to do x_x but my agressiveness is much more extreme >=)

Dude, because of your tips and tricks, my Warhawk skills are soooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better. Just in two days, i'm able to get all badges and ribbons (including air superiority) and kill like 42 people in one game, that considering i'm still a Wingman, kudos dude! BTW guys, there is nothing wrong with flying NF, because unlike PF, u wouldn't get that vertigo feeling when flying, which may sometimes confuse you and leave u behind enemy fire if your not that skillfull

The Warhawk is pretty fast, even when you're heavy on the breaks, so hitting any ground target that you can't lock-on to is next to impossible. Unless, that is, you switch to hover mode. It goes without saying that you should be careful of your surroundings when you engage hover mode. This mode wasn't arbitrarily put into the game. And you are not a 'noob' because you use hover mode.
Though, I don't think we'll have to worry about you LG'ing anyone with your sweet stats. =D

Not bad with the homing missiles... but heres a hint never go in to hover mode in the middle of the map... u need to work on doging missiles... my doging is about %90 to %96 effective...

Since the Warhawk can act as both a jet airplane and a hover aircraft, one of the best places to take advantage of it is in the middle of a dogfight.
If you're doing the tango with an enemy Warhawk and you can't get a lock-on, either because he's spazzing or he's out maneuvering you, you can try switching to hover mode to take him out. Again, just have to be wary of any other enemy Warhawks, AAA, etc. in the area.
You can't lock onto ground targets (save the ground placed turrets). So unless you just fly by them and pop them with a homing missile (which you probably can't), then engaging hover mode will be your best option.
You can't hit ground targets while flying by in Pro Flight (or Normal Flight). Why?
1) Your camera angle sucks (Pro Flight especially).
2) You're flying too fast.
3) You'd have to fly at a rediculous angle to even hit a ground target.
So, it's better to switch to Hover mode to take out a ground target.
And against air targets, if you have a stationary air target, or flying against someone who's out maneuvering you, then you should try switching to hover mode.
I think you should have a kill/death ratio above 1.0 to be giving anyone tips on how to fly their Warhawk, let alone calling them noobs. LOL, you are teh l3373S7! If you're going to talk shit, at least have the stats to back it up. =P
And anwyway, you can't compare Warhawk to "really life". To be honest, I had a hard time making any sense of your statement at all. =)
Oh, and your 10 points per minute is suspect. Either you're kicking some serious ass, or you're doing some serious flag tossing (have they not disabled that from the game yet?!).

Anyway, I think it's easy to get the 4x4 badge (or medal?) on the Destroyed Capital map (the smaller version of it). Just take a jeep up to the Gazebo-type monument in the center of the map. From there, you can either just run enemies over, or jump in the back of the jeep and take 'em out with the jeep's 50 Cal.

strat doesnt work against fellow ace pilots, if your boosting towards me, im gonna be boosting away, cause i know your about to use a homing missle. The techinque i use allot, is i go up to the ceiling, before i get stalled, fly right above another pilot, and dive bomb them with a homing missle, never fails
You can be King Dingaling Ace of all Warhawks, and you'll still get hit by a Homing Missile at close range. It's a good technique because the Homing Missile is already hard to shake, and trying to get away from it at close range is hard/impossible without chaffing. It's not a bad technique.
I guess dive bombing other Warhawks isn't either. Though, you leave yourself open being all high in the air like that for all to see - nowhere to run for cover when under attack. But it works for you. =)
Very good, these are the same tactics I use, bar shooting unguided missiles at turrets. Much better, they have less chance of getting a lock on you.
As for taking out flying targets, it's so good if you get the lock on, and are boosting towards them using machine gun, takes their health down just enough so that you release the homing missile when you're so close to them, they have no time to react at all and it's a straight kill.
I got the game about 2 weeks ago and it's total badass! Now I don't like to toot my own horn, but I'm getting pretty good. I definetely own a bit of my Warhawk flying skills to you. Most of the time I get a one-hti kill now because of your tacting, getting close to the warhawk. You're seriously good in this game, keep them videos coming.
sparker24, Warhawks a fun game =) from land to air to inbetween fighting is everywhere, and with airstrikes, to rocket launchers, to sword fighting, the game is great =) I got it for the mic tho, and then played the game and thought it was great! =D mah fav mode is hero. Hero + flamethrower in enemy command on destroyed capital = PWN.
I use the joystick in the video. I also used the motion sensor for a while, and I didn't really like the controls. However, that's not to say that you won't like it.
Give them both a try and see which one feels more natural for you. =)

I don't think you mentioned it in the video, but if you booster before firing the rocket, it's just that much less time your target has to react. Yeah, the missiles you spawn with (Swarm Missiles) can lock on. When you're engaging your target, instead of just pressing the trigger to fire the missile, hold the trigger to get your Warhawk to lock on. Afterwards, release to fire your locked on missiles. =)

I still am not great at the game, but I'm working on it. Flying has a very steep learning curve, but once you memorize the controls it becomes very easy.
omg im so frustrated i can never follow a person after i hit them with a homing missle they always seem to use their after burner and i cant chase them down i try to use the minimap except they go at a differant altitude and its so annoying i hit them and they get away...any advice?
What are the advantages of normal flight? I deciding whether to choose between pro flight and normal flight but I can't tell which one has more advantages. So why do you use normal flight like why do use it? (No criticising just trying to figure out with one)
-always- works for taking out Warhawks, as every pilot flies their Warhawks differently. But, there are things you can do that will increase your chances of success in a dogfight.
This video focuses on the Homing Missile, but some of the tips hold true to other weapons, such as closing in on your target for better hit success, or softening up your targets with secondary weapon fire before engaging them with your big guns, etc. =)

You kind of have to anticipate the ground troops movements. It's easier in some situations than in others. For instance:
Ground Troop out in the middle of nowhere might be hard to kill.
-VS-
Ground Troop heading to an item of interest (someone's dropped pack, health, weps, etc) is easier to kill, becuase you can probably see him b-lining for the item, so just aim for the item and pop him in the process.
You'll have to get used to the funky angles as well... practice makes perfect. =)

If you've got afterburner to burn, then chase em down. =) You want to try to stay close, but not too close though (mind you, they might have air mines!). I think the best thing to do though is to soften up your target a little before you slap em with a homing missile. You hit anyone with a homing missile straight off, and they're going to either A) Spazz out, or B) Run for their lives. Soften them up with a little MG or Swarmer, and then pop them with a homing missile to finish them off. =)

You have to hold L1 to charge the lightning gun. When it's fully charged, you can fire it at the ground for an area damage-over-time type effect. Or you can fire it at an unsuspecting Warhawk, which will slowly drain it's health, usually until death. =)
I used Pro Flight for about 30 hours. It's fun and all, but nothing extraordinary. Though, I think you confuse Pro Flight with 'leetness?'. I don't want to be mean or anything, but let's look at your Warhawk stats: Josh653 Kills 1221 Deaths 1315 KDR 0.93 Global Accuracy 14.42% Wins 90 Losses 111 Win-Loss Ratio 0.81 Score per Minute 18.95 Low K/D ratio, and a serious Score per Minute... you've been tossing flags around, and want to tell me how to fly my Warhawk? =P

Yes, there are a lot of different 'combos' to kill in a Warhawk. However, this tutorial only focuses on the use of the Homing Missile, and is meant to show players that it's more about just locking on and firing. =P

I still don't understand exactly which part of the movie video you're referring to, so I'll reply in a general sense.
You hover if you're target is stationary and you don't have enough time to get a lock before passing.
And there's all sorts of situations where you can take advantage of hover in a dogfight. I'm not going to break it down for you.
It's not always easier to follow the target. You are not lock-free because you are in motion. Period.

IMHO, you can hover any where you want, as long as you're confident that your team has control of the area, and/or you aren't in any real danger. =P
I also don't believe I have any trouble dodging missiles. =D

LOL, sweet name. Not that I hate the 360.. it's just a sweet name. =)
Anyway, I think it's easy to get the 4x4 badge (or medal?) on the Destroyed Capital map (the smaller version of it). Just take a jeep up to the Gazebo-type monument in the center of the map. From there, you can either just run enemies over, or jump in the back of the jeep and take 'em out with the jeep's 50 Cal.

strat doesnt work against fellow ace pilots, if your boosting towards me, im gonna be boosting away, cause i know your about to use a homing missle. The techinque i use allot, is i go up to the ceiling, before i get stalled, fly right above another pilot, and dive bomb them with a homing missle, never fails

You can be King Dingaling Ace of all Warhawks, and you'll still get hit by a Homing Missile at close range. It's a good technique because the Homing Missile is already hard to shake, and trying to get away from it at close range is hard/impossible without chaffing. It's not a bad technique.
I guess dive bombing other Warhawks isn't either. Though, you leave yourself open being all high in the air like that for all to see - nowhere to run for cover when under attack. But it works for you. =)

Very good, these are the same tactics I use, bar shooting unguided missiles at turrets. Much better, they have less chance of getting a lock on you.
As for taking out flying targets, it's so good if you get the lock on, and are boosting towards them using machine gun, takes their health down just enough so that you release the homing missile when you're so close to them, they have no time to react at all and it's a straight kill.

I got the game about 2 weeks ago and it's total badass! Now I don't like to toot my own horn, but I'm getting pretty good. I definetely own a bit of my Warhawk flying skills to you. Most of the time I get a one-hti kill now because of your tacting, getting close to the warhawk. You're seriously good in this game, keep them videos coming.

sparker24, Warhawks a fun game =) from land to air to inbetween fighting is everywhere, and with airstrikes, to rocket launchers, to sword fighting, the game is great =) I got it for the mic tho, and then played the game and thought it was great! =D mah fav mode is hero. Hero + flamethrower in enemy command on destroyed capital = PWN.

I use the joystick in the video. I also used the motion sensor for a while, and I didn't really like the controls. However, that's not to say that you won't like it.
Give them both a try and see which one feels more natural for you. =)

I target all ranks without prejudice. Low or high, it doesn't matter- if you're in the air in a Warhawk, you're fair game. =)
And yes, it's fun to be on the ground, sometimes. But in the air in a Warhawk is where it's at. I don't think it's "more epic being on the grounds."

Haha, I just realized that you booster before launching, too. I don't think you mentioned it in the video, but if you booster before firing the rocket, it's just that much less time your target has to react. You don't spawn with homing missiles; you have to fly around and pick up the powerups (bright yellow) to get 'em. =)

Yeah, the missiles you spawn with (Swarm Missiles) can lock on. When you're engaging your target, instead of just pressing the trigger to fire the missile, hold the trigger to get your Warhawk to lock on. Afterwards, release to fire your locked on missiles. =)

Yea, I went on and tried it out and got my first few kills.
I still am not great at the game, but I'm working on it. Flying has a very steep learning curve, but once you memorize the controls it becomes very easy.

omg im so frustrated i can never follow a person after i hit them with a homing missle they always seem to use their after burner and i cant chase them down i try to use the minimap except they go at a differant altitude and its so annoying i hit them and they get away...any advice?

What are the advantages of normal flight? I deciding whether to choose between pro flight and normal flight but I can't tell which one has more advantages. So why do you use normal flight like why do use it? (No criticising just trying to figure out with one)

Pro Flight advantages:
-Camera is fixed to where your Warhawk is facing; good for pursuit
-More control over your Warhawk
-(Seemingly) tighter control
-More forgivingness with collisions
Normal Flight advantages:
-Camera is fixed forward; can still lock on to enemies with your back turned (*but also harder to maintain lock in a dive)
-Easier to shake lock-ons
I'm sure there are more pros (and cons) to each style of flight. Try both and pick the one that fits how you want to fly.

I don't think there's a single tactic that
-always- works for taking out Warhawks, as every pilot flies their Warhawks differently. But, there are things you can do that will increase your chances of success in a dogfight.
This video focuses on the Homing Missile, but some of the tips hold true to other weapons, such as closing in on your target for better hit success, or softening up your targets with secondary weapon fire before engaging them with your big guns, etc. =)

You kind of have to anticipate the ground troops movements. It's easier in some situations than in others. For instance:
Ground Troop out in the middle of nowhere might be hard to kill.
-VS-
Ground Troop heading to an item of interest (someone's dropped pack, health, weps, etc) is easier to kill, becuase you can probably see him b-lining for the item, so just aim for the item and pop him in the process.
You'll have to get used to the funky angles as well... practice makes perfect. =)

If you've got afterburner to burn, then chase em down. =) You want to try to stay close, but not too close though (mind you, they might have air mines!). I think the best thing to do though is to soften up your target a little before you slap em with a homing missile. You hit anyone with a homing missile straight off, and they're going to either A) Spazz out, or B) Run for their lives. Soften them up with a little MG or Swarmer, and then pop them with a homing missile to finish them off. =)

Heyas,
You have to hold L1 to charge the lightning gun. When it's fully charged, you can fire it at the ground for an area damage-over-time type effect. Or you can fire it at an unsuspecting Warhawk, which will slowly drain it's health, usually until death. =)

Pro flight is a pain in the arse to learn. I've never used it and eat pro flight dudes for breakfast.
You can always spot them they fly all crazy sidways and are sitting ducks.

Yes, there are a lot of different 'combos' to kill in a Warhawk. However, this tutorial only focuses on the use of the Homing Missile, and is meant to show players that it's more about just locking on and firing. =P
