is it ok to layer the mastix on top of the tape so its not so shiny? how long does the hold usually last?

Yes, but do so in small sections. It dries quickly - you may need to use scalp protector to reactivate the adhesion. I usually wear my wigs 2-3 weeks at a time. Thanks!

How long of a hold do u get with this app.? I don't think tapes hold as well as adhesives because as the app. gets old my tape starts to melt and slide! I would like to find and application technique that will allow my unit to stay bonded for at least 21/2 to 3 weeks. If u know of any considering ur in hot weather in houston please let me know.

Put the Mastix P underneath the tape. In other words, apply Mastix P first, then tape. This should help with perspiration and extend bond time. Thanks!

Thanks! It depends on the type of tape you use. I like Blue liner layered with Mastix P spirit gum.
