  • That was cute and funny!! I like how you used similar camera shots and zooms just like in the real show. :-)

  • as a big fan of this show, you did a great job, nice

  • Cute. :-]

  • Cute and funny - my favorite part is when he's walking and talking to his fellow commuter at the station after getting off the train.

  • I thought that the thing that was most similar to the real things was that not-really-a-smile smile you had goin' on there.

  • Uh... Bob is a man. Well yes, he doesn't have breasts... but that similarity shouldn't (deep breath)... what? Yes, yes you would need a haircut but that wouldn't... no a haircut would look nice, however... that's right, surgery is available nowadays but as you psychologist I can't recommend it.

  • Now that is cute!!!!

  • ...very nice tribute to a great show and a great comedian!....good job!

  • As a black woman I can't understand how something so awful managed to get 12,000 views.

  • Wait, are you saying that the person who made this video created 36 fake accounts to "like it"? Makes sense.

  • Cheesy

  • Lol this is cool! :-)

  • A good job - I liked your rendition - tho I am surprised coz you don't look old enough to remember this show. It came out in late 1972 and back in those days Saturday night was a big night for comedy on TV: Bob Newhart, All In The Family, The Carol Burnette Show etc.

  • Very fun! Thanks for posting!!

  • Cute:)

  • This is great. I love the train door opening!

  • lol lesbian version of bob newhart lol but pretty cool though a lot better than ur mtm 1

  • I think it's funny! I understand satire and humor, so I know you're not really trying to "make fun" of the show. Actually, I think Bob Hartley is pretty cool!

  • Thanks, friend.

  • Marcia Wallace who played the secretary in the show also voices bart's teacher in the Simpson's

  • Indeed. Mrs. Crabapple. Not to mention that Julie Kavner, who played Rhoda's younger sister Brenda on "Rhoda", also voices Marge Simpson.

    Small world, eh.

  • true...also Julie and Dan Castellaneta (Homer Simpson) were both on the Tracy Ullman show together

  • Haha, was that drawing supposed to be a building?

  • Yeah, it actually was. Glad you noticed. : ) Thanks for commenting.

  • this had me sniggering. I'm just getting into this show and wanted to look up the opening and this is what I found. Well done!!!

  • @justinthewhitt Just started watching episodes of TBNS on hulu. I found this video the same way. I think it's pretty funny- especially since they never leave the house!

  • good vid

  • Very cute and original and updated using a cell phone, very 2000's lol

  • awesome love it! great job!

  • very good!

  • Why did you remove the original opening to this show?

  • I didn't. I made my own version. ; )

  • Cute video. :)

I guess youtube must have removed the original Bob Newhart opening video. (:

Interesting to see somebody to make their own video. :)

Blooper Spoof shows are also interesting. :)

The Theme song on this video is still there, based on Television's Greatest Hits 70's & 80's. :)

  • Awesome. Can't wait to see them. Thanks for the comment.

  • hahaha this is funny with all those wonky camera angles!

  • OMG, you probably weren't even alive when The Bob Newhart Show originally aired.

  • Maybe not, but that house was!

  • I was born in '93, so yeah. And yes, it was an old house.

  • You guys are brilliant. The wood-paneled wall with the sliding door was a great, retro touch!

  • I don't know what's more surprising...Seeing someone so young spoofing the Bob Newhart Show or the fact that there isn't ONE clip of the show on youtube, not even the original intro!!!!! GRRR!

    Anyway, nice job!

  • 3 months later and this still cheers me up.

  • : ) Thank you!

  • nice shirt

  • this realy great i like how you put this toghter

  • This is a great tribute to the wonderful Bob Newhart Show. It's nice to see young people have an appreciation for a classic television series that centered around thoughtful and gentle humor. I look forward to seeing more of your work!

  • i love the special effects used for the buildings lol

btw...is it just me or does she look like Darlene from Roseanne?

  • That had us laughing, thanks!!!

  • adorable!! thanks so much!

  • Wow. That was wonderful. That's just about the cutest, funniest thing I have seen in a long while.

    Just dynamite.

  • You have completely captured the essence of the mundanity that is Bob Newhart! Brilliant.

  • This is the greatest thing I've ever seen! Funny as hell.

  • should be among youtubes best!

  • Perhaps the finest rendition of the BN opening theme I've ever seen.

  • WOW you are awesome! I was a kid when this show was on and watched it with my parents every week. The intro is burned in my brain. You have every angle down pat. Great post!

  • That was cute. You look like you're too young to know the Bob Newhart Show opening theme. :) Good job!

  • Yeah, heh. In all seriousness, though, they released it on DVD.

  • LOL, well done :)

  • I can't decide whether this is the worst video on youtube or the best... hmmmmmmmm... : )

  • *laughs nervously* heh heh, well...thank you.

  • Uniquely done and clever. I laughed, I cried, I went through all the changes. Thanks.

  • Great job!

  • Thanks, man.

  • I liked that! Eventually I want to do remakes of openings!! It's FUN!!! Good job and it looked really cool! And the part with the sliding door was great!

  • Thanks, I really appreciate it.

  • Are you a girl or a boy?

  • I'm a girl.

  • Love it! Only a true geek could appreciate the past. No sarcasm intended. Cool people rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You rule. I appreciate you watching and commenting.

  • You a big fan?

  • Indeed I am.

  • I have a strong feeling that Bob Newhart would not have a problem with this video!!!

  • Nice Job!

  • i laughed my butt off.cleaver.well done.

  • Very Cute

  • That was cool.

  • Is that da famous ugly mutt?

  • Yes, actually, it is. He died, though, shortly after I made this. :(

  • That was really cute Jessie. : )

  • Thank you so much.

  • The part with the slider door looked really cool.

  • Thanks, man. It was supposed to look like I was getting on the train, you know? I'll let you in on a secret: Jon was on the other side. But you couldn't see him at all, huh?! Nope, you couldn't.
