in new jersey are busses have the moter in the front its very loud...i just got a brand new bus with tinted windows heated seats everything is nice on my bus but kis r very loud....my bus is 2011 bluebird
...have to open the back emergency door when you turn the bus off.
In the morning, I ride an IC Corp. nosed bus, and while some of the buses are unloading at my school, we're doing the back door thing. My afternoon bus is a AmTran rear engine bus. Since I have loud kids on it, it gets really loud.
Yesturday, I had a substitute afternoon bus, which was a ThomasBuilt just a little newer than my afternoon bus (my bus garage is messed up. The oldest regular bus I believe is either 267 or 270...
...and the newest substitute bus is probably bus 313. Seriously. Choose a bus that's 10 years older than a perfect bus for a regular!?! C'mon. Let me guess. Next year, they're going to use 195 for a regular and 369 for a sub (I have a lot of buses in my BG. Really, the oldest bus I've been on in my school district is 186 and the newest I've seen was 370.)) Now, as I was saying, the sub bus was messed up!!! If my bus driver had to take an emergency stop...
...she'd have to put the NRD124 into N and pull the emergency break to park the bus. Now, ThomasBuilt was stupid enough to put the emergency break where a bus driver can hit his/her knee on it it's so low, and they put the NRD124 right to the driver's seat. Not in front of the driver, right to the driver. ATTACHED TO THE FLOOR.
Now, when my driver would get up, she would probably accidentally push in the emergency break and accidentally put the bus into R or D with her thigh. I love bus 307!!
Nice. I like those old Crown buses, they look so cool. I rode one to middle school out in California. Also in middle school I rode in a AmTran Genesis rear engine bus. So weird that it's so quiet up front! In high school we had two 1995 Blue Bird TC-2000's with the 427 Chevy gas engine (last year the 427 was offered) and the Allison 4-speed auto. I'm told loaded they got 4mpg!! Those TC2000's are some tough buses; that school still has both in regular use, and will until 2015. (20 yr. use limit)
ya in our district in california we have 5 crowns 2 of them have tag axles in the rear still in reg. service too. The detriots are loud and there in the front middle part of the buses. I ride a 1996 BlueBird TC-2000RE (rear engine) to school but this year we got a 2nd natrual gas BlueBird AllAmerican, it's a 2004.
