  • You seem like sucha sweetie. My fibro has left me with a very low attention span. :( I never did find out how you made it easier to dry your hair which is a hugeee problem with my long hair. I dry it as much as possible before putting it in a knot, at the end of the day putting it down its still damp.

  • great vid- thank you!!

  • veeeeeeery interesting! :O)

  • Wellbutrin seems to be a very expensive drug, plus they don't prescribe it for depression in my country. Shame, I've tried all the antidepressants on the market.

  • Well I can take deep breaths without problems, it's just that it feels like there's not enough oxygen going to my brain. I start to feel anxious and can't focus.

  • @HurtingInPain Interesting. I had typical fibro problems with anxiety up until 2 years ago. Here are 4 things that helped my fibro brain calm down: 1) Changed my diet to a gluten-free. Has helped a TON. 2) I also cut out all artificial sweeteners. Splenda/Aspartame, etc. totally mess me up/cause flare-ups. 3) I found an anti-depressant that worked (Wellbutrin) 4) started on an experimental fibro med at Stanford called LDN. Hasn't done much for my pain. But, it's helped my brain symptoms.

  • I wanna ask something since you seem to know a lot about fibro. Why do I experience air hunger? It gets worse if I don't execise or sleep during the day.. I try opening the window but it doesn't help much. I feel like I've got to go outside, but sometimes I'm too tired to. Perhaps this is one of the more uncommon symptoms of fibromyalgia.

  • @HurtingInPain Can you describe more what you mean by this? I think I know what you are talking about, because I once described something similar to my doctor, and he thought I had asthma. He even prescribed asthma medication. I never used it because I just figured my symptoms were fibro-related and would resolve on their own when my fibro got better. - Diana

  • Thank you i really enjoyed your blog. I had fibro for about ten tears but only got diagnosed 5 years ago. I am worried that m son has fibro as he gets pains in his legs especially his knees and has trouble running. We live in england and a lot of the doctors hear know very little about fibro :(

  • Just checking too see if thisworks lol

  • Hi there

like your positiv viewing..im 22 and from germany and suffern from the awful pains ,too..i really want to know how long you now tate the guay and if it really helps..

are you abel to work out???

    thanks

  • Hi Pyscho- Well, I had been on Guai 600 mg. LA (Long Acting) x 2 for a long time, (morning and evening.) I recently decided to try Guai 600 LA (Long Acting) mg. x 3, (morning, noon and night,) as another Guaier said this dosing was particular beneficial for her. I'm always open to new things, so I'm currently giving this dosage a try. Guai has little to no side effects on most people. (I experience none.) It is impossible to overdose on, except in EXTREMELY high doses.

  • Hallo! Also, Wie geht's es ihnen? Alles Guetes! - Diana

  • well said, thelifeaquatica. Check out some of the fibro videos and you will just shake your head at these "pain suffering pill poppers."

  • Hi Marlin- Do you have fibromyalgia? I'm just wondering what your interest in these videos might be. The Guaifenesin Protocol is a controversial approach to the disease. It makes your fibromyalgia considerably worse before it gets better, and takes years to work. Not for the faint of heart. I follow this protocol, and don't take ANY pain pills. I'm willing to answer any questions you have, though. Please feel free to ask them. Cheers, Diana

  • Hi, I loved this video. You give of yourself to encourage others. I have fibromyalgia and suffer terribly(I won't go into that to much here).I too have problems holding my arms up to blow dry my hair.I admire that you are very polite in your responses to everyone including those that are not so kind. Please keep making videos to inform, help and encourage all who watch.Take care,

  • 'thelifeaquatica's comments are horribly harsh/rude.....i personally appreciate your enthusiasm, positive energy and information...._especially_ that you shared about the inability to blow dry your hair--i have also had such horrible burning sensation/weak feeling that i was unable to care for my hair....i have never heard anyone else share that before.....thank you....

  • I'm in about my 13th year of constant pain I am a walking experiment in the treatment of Fibro, Oh yeah I'm a middle age man most people think this is only a woman's disease, Wrong! Ive had 2 lumbar fusion's 1 thoracic fusion. I have an electronic neuro stimulator in my back. I take a cocktail of meds I recently had surgery for frozen shoulder. I don't know if you have heard from many men. Ask me anything you like. Good luck

  • How do you explain drinking coffee and tea for so long while taking guaifenesin? They contain salicylate. And, your son doesn't have anything, his crazy mother pushed it on him so she wouldn't be alone. I had a neighbor who was the same way, anything she had, her son would all of a sudden get too. The best thing for you would be Prozac. And you should be ashamed that you make your son take Guai so young when he doesn't need it.

  • Actually, I gave up coffee for Lent, and then never went back on it. I found I felt better without the caffeine. It helped my headaches. I drink fruit teas sometimes, or a bit of cocoa. You have to be careful with teas, as they can block guai, as you pointed out. There is a genetic basis for fibromyalgia. I can send you the information from the University of North Carolina study if you wish. It clearly identifies the genetic markers.

  • There is a genetic predisposition, which means that it is not inherited, but the genetic makeup makes it more likely you will experience similar symptoms. Also, caffeine does the exact opposite of guaifenesin so thats why you felt better. My advice to you is to stop taking guai. I bet your husband never thought a surfer would be such a annoyance later.

  • And the thing about not being able to blow dry your hair is ridiculous. Hopefully your not known as the crazy fibro chick who always talks about it like its the only thing she can talk about.

  • My husband said he is touched by your concern for my health, but "my wife is a hottie, a great Mom, and I'm a very happy man." Do you video blog? I'd be interested in seeing you post a video reply with your well-researched views on the disease. You clearly have a lot of advice to share. I believe a video blog would be an excellent forum to share your wisdom with the rest of us. I'd be interested in hearing what you have to say.
