Ah, the Jefferson Memorial. My favorite. It has a special solemn aura of solitude and gives one inspiration for some reflection.

I'm kind of glad these people weren't there when I took my kids to see it.

I may have even danced a little bit myself while I was there with my family. I do that sometimes. Just break out in a spontaneous little dance of happiness.

I'm glad the guards there were on the job. Protecting a possible threat to one of our national treasures.

Okay, they asked for it. Dancing at the Jefferson Memorial on the night of his birthday MUST be an annual tradition now!  In the spirit of Thomas Jefferson's message of freedom, everyone be there April 13th, 2009!

Looks to me like these guys and gals were celebrating the birthday of one of their friends, Thomas Jefferson, in front of his statue, inside this nation's monument to one of the fathers of freedom. With freedoms, rights and civil liberties comes social responsibility. And descending on a national monument at midnight in an organized group of 20 to 30 people unannounced to turn it into your own personal party is not acting responsibly. I'm sorry you and others do not get that. Just because you have freedoms (rights) granted under a society does not mean the world is your personal playground.
