Good. I love to see it when stupid F-ing hippies learn reason the hard way, as usual. The only way this could have been better was if they were all maced and/or tazered.
@FritzleHamster I think as long as the memorial isn't something like a war memorial or for the holocaust or something, we should be allowed to partake in peaceful festivities in it such as the one demonstrated in this video.
Thank god our government is protecting us from the pernicious evil of dancing hippies. I just hope some terrorist wasn't slipping a bomb into the building while Barney Fife & co. were smokin' out those evildoers.
Ah, the Jefferson Memorial. My favorite. It has a special solemn aura of solitude and gives one inspiration for some reflection.
I'm kind of glad these people weren't there when I took my kids to see it.
I may have even danced a little bit myself while I was there with my family. I do that sometimes. Just break out in a spontaneous little dance of happiness.
I'm glad the guards there were on the job. Protecting a possible threat to one of our national treasures.
Okay, they asked for it. Dancing at the Jefferson Memorial on the night of his birthday MUST be an annual tradition now! In the spirit of Thomas Jefferson's message of freedom, everyone be there April 13th, 2009!
Evidently, Big Brother does not like that First Amendment stuff, you know, the freedom of expression thing. Looks to me like these guys and gals were celebrating the birthday of one of their friends, Thomas Jefferson, in front of his statue, inside this nation's monument to one of the fathers of freedom. I guess freedom is now prohibited in the capitol of the "Free World".
George Orwell seems to be more accurate with every day that passes. 1984 has arrived. Lockstep, comrad.
It's comments like these below that make me lose hope for our future. Have fun now and let things like this slide, sure make fun of it all you want. Good Laugh,Hey LOL! BUT Remember all this when the day comes that you are not allowed to comment or speak so freely about anything like you have now. Then we will see who was silly or hippies. Please educate your self's or group up. Start to open your eyes take your lives serious or others will just control it for you, because your incapable of it.
With freedoms, rights and civil liberties comes social responsibility. And descending on a national monument at midnight in an organized group of 20 to 30 people unannounced to turn it into your own personal party is not acting responsibly. I'm sorry you and others do not get that. Just because you have freedoms (rights) granted under a society does not mean the world is your personal playground.
Your goal was to create a confrontation and an impression of "oppression" where none exists.
I'm glad they told you to stop celebrating his birthday, I mean seriously didn't you read the law about bad dancing and how it can't be done even in the privacy of your own home? Please think about someone else other than yourself for a change, I hope they tap your phone and strip search you every chance they get to foil this obvious terrorist plot.
obviously a viral video commercial for the new Footloose movie.

Same thing happened AGAIN in 2011. Apparently it is now illegal to express yourself in dance unless your on Dancing with the Stars...

Too bad being a loser isn't a punishable crime, you would all be in trouble.

While I can see how dancing in a memorial could be perceived as disrespectful, nothing here is an arrestable offense.

Oh and by the way you call that dancing.

Welcome to George Bush's America, where every activity, no matter how innocuous, is a potential threat to national security.

Does anyone know if those are prestressed concrete columns? I dont even think they had the technology to do that. Quick, get out of the building.

April 13th is also Guy Fawkes' birthday (1570). Another radical thinker/doer maligned by the state-sponsored historians of his day!

I'm sorry israel is an apartheid state that openly supports state terrorism. All Jews should apologize for israel.

"a possible threat"?

Who knows. Maybe paint graffiti on the walls?
Maybe vandalize the walls.
Maybe climb up the statue.
Maybe a lot of things.
Not a good place to "dance" if that is what you would call what they were doing.
Just an obvious ploy to draw down "the Man" so they could get some attention on Youtube and make some fictitious claim about America.
nukedude2 3 years ago
Nuke, that was the dumbest reply I have ever seen.
The only threat here was the cops. The people were peacefully dancing, and any good American would see nothing wrong with that.
From your comments I can tell you are not a good, patriotic, freedom-loving American.
