Boy, 5.7's were real probs when new. So many people think the 6.2 is an Olds 350, like the 5.7 was. I hear it all da time. Like the Corvair stories. "They all explode"... Ad nauseum... Ug

Mine was replaced with one of the newer Goodwrench Crate engines, I don't think they're as bad as the original 5.7s The one in my truck blew up after 4 years, and they replaced it with a crate motor.

Many years ago... a guy I spoke with at a GM dealer used to collect all the dud 5.7's. He said the breather would clog and cause ring probs... I wonder if the same thing affects the 6.2's? Many years ago is early 80's. I'm old, huh??? Ug

do you have any 5.7s id like to see one run i looked at a chart that shows the horse power curve if i can remember i think they barly make 100hp and hardly any tork but they are good on gas i saw a suburban with a 5.7 once they guy said it drove like crap took like an hour to get to 70

@DRNEGOLICIS my 350 (5.7) makes 265 hp stock. i think you need to get your eyes checked buddy.

@drzipperhead there are 5 or 6 different types of the 350s that GM makes the generation of the engine makes all the diference aslo first generation made more power i have a first generation 350 doesent even have EGR ports on the heads

Don't we love the chevys? I just made a video of my lumina firing up for the first time in a month in VERY COLD STORAGE lol. It started instantly and it goes out to that powerful AC Delco battery!
