  • I'm a very poor drawer, does 3D modelling/animation require me to know how to draw 2D/3D art?

  • 3ds max is the best t animation maya sucks when i saw that video

  • @ahmed200705 wrong

  • @criso1994 ohh i am right but you didnt experience max...

  • @ahmed200705 I have max 2012, I hate its layout and its too basic, you can't say maya sucks from looking at this video when this is a old version of maya

  • Thank you, I'll definitely check them out.

  • Do you have to select the curves every time you want to set a keyframe?

  • @jadeinshades Not if you have auto key turned on.

  • @unpicked1 I see. I'm pretty new to maya. Do you know of or have a tutorial that explains how to set up for animation. I've seen videos saying to use "linear, clamped, stepped," etc. But I can't find one that explains why and what each setting does differently. Thank you for taking the time to respond, I appreciate your help.

  • @jadeinshades Well, if your really serious about learning animation the best place to go is to digitaltutors(dot) c o m . They will charge you a monthly few to be able to watch their videos, but they have video tutorials on how to do everything... modeling, rigging, animating, textures, dynamics, and rendering. Everything you need to know about animation you can learn there.

  • Great tutorial. just learning Maya, and your videos are helping out.

awesome stuff keep up the good work!

    i've subscribed

  • Go to exactly 10:25 on the video timeline & click it a few times. That sums it up.

  • omg you are super helpful. I missed this class where we learned how to do this but you are such a good teacher. Thank you!!!

  • Thank you for putting up that tutorial about Maya. I was having such a hard time with it.

    Thanks for the vid man.!

  • How can i make more animations than one, without deleting the other one?

For example i need for a game a crouch walking and a standing walking animation, so how can i get another animation to creat?

    thx for answers.

  • nice! keep teaching

  • Do you have any tutorials or can recommend tutorials on how to set your Control Curves?

  • Are you a cowboy from texas? LoL!

  • That's really stereotypical...

  • look at xetter9s vids press the big red button

  • Thanks a bunch unpicked1, very good tute.

  • Where did you got Autodesk Maya for free and without register? Tell me its link with personal message, please

  • Instead of trying to get maya illegally why not try blender?

If you dont know what it is

    go to Blender(dot)Org

It is a completely free 3D suite

  • kido maya is for pro blender is for kidos lol

  • Uhhh blender is an amazingly powerful tool whoever has told you this has incredibly misinformed you. As I have used Maya in college and I use blender regularly at home Maya does have some pretty awesome tools that blender does not but Blender is not for "kidos".

  • @TheGrayK

definitely agree with you, blender is such amazing software, and it's free.. :D

  • please tell me to. please

  • Thanks for your answer. I´ll try to use it in my next animation, expecting it will make my work easier. Thanks again.

  • Very good tutorial, although you dont explain how you make the curves affects the body. Is because you construct the dragon through that curves, and then it has history?? Thanks anyway

  • They are NURB curves that are the parent of joints/ikhandles/membership between rotate/twist. You make this when you create your skeletal system. It makes animation much easier and look a ton better. The more time you put in the skeleton the less you need to worry about how your animations flow together.

  • That helps a lot, thanks

  • way maya do have i mean wat version

  • Hello, do you have a tutorial on how to make those animation curves? I really have no idea with those. Thanks. :D

  • I second this! I'm absolutely lost on how to do them!

  • I third it! I've been trying for days!

  • on my other channel, unpicked2, I have some tutorials up on how to make them.

  • Sorry man, I checked it out...the tutorial on rigging didn't get to the part about control curves.

  • hey can you tell me why my animation is clearing out? I will set it on the first frame then go to the second frame and change it up then set it to that frame but frame 1 will be lost.

  • Are you sure your setting a key at every frame?

Try turning on auto key, it's at the bottom right hand corner of the screen, it's a little symbol of a key. If it red, it's turned on, if it's white, it's turned off.

  • LOL, I only rent my powers for 19.95 a month.

    Thanks for watching, man.

  • Nice.

Hopefully soon enough I'll have something to post.

  • Good, man. Cant wait to see it.

    Well, take care.

  • Very nice... BTW- wat do you use to record things off of your computer?

  • I use a program called screen mimic, What ever you do, DO NOT get it. It does not work well, and I have to do 5 minutes, then stop, and process it. If i go much over 5, it freezes up on me, and I have to start over again.

I'm looking for a better program to use, one more reliable.

    Well, Thanks for watching, man.

  • You should ask people money for you good demonstrations ^_^

  • Thanks, man. I hope I can make a little off of this one.

Maybe enough to buy a Coke-Cole, LOL.

    Take it easy.

  • Another job well done. Looks like a fun yet tedious undertaking.

  • Yeah, It's a lot of work, but worth it when you can see the job done, and watch your character walk.

    Take care.

  • yay larry! hes lika pimp.

  • He's Like a pimp?? Where do you get this information?? LOL.

  • yhe way he walks

  • Great tutorial. its pretty similar to MAX. My models are all robots with no real hip articulation needed for walking. but im going to try this with Biped.

this tutorial is much better than anything i have scene on the net. Thanks.

  • Thanks, man. I'm going to try to do the upper body to day.

Hopefully I'll have it up soon.
