@ahmed200705 I have max 2012, I hate its layout and its too basic, you can't say maya sucks from looking at this video when this is a old version of maya
@unpicked1 I see. I'm pretty new to maya. Do you know of or have a tutorial that explains how to set up for animation. I've seen videos saying to use "linear, clamped, stepped," etc. But I can't find one that explains why and what each setting does differently. Thank you for taking the time to respond, I appreciate your help.
@jadeinshades Well, if your really serious about learning animation the best place to go is to digitaltutors(dot) c o m . They will charge you a monthly few to be able to watch their videos, but they have video tutorials on how to do everything... modeling, rigging, animating, textures, dynamics, and rendering. Everything you need to know about animation you can learn there.
And even now you're helping people out with this tutorial. Thanks for the upload. I was breaking my head over why I had to set a frame for each independant control (still not sure if it's gonna be working now, gonna try out in the morning).
Uhhh blender is an amazingly powerful tool whoever has told you this has incredibly misinformed you. As I have used Maya in college and I use blender regularly at home Maya does have some pretty awesome tools that blender does not but Blender is not for "kidos".
Very good tutorial, although you dont explain how you make the curves affects the body. Is because you construct the dragon through that curves, and then it has history?? Thanks anyway
They are NURB curves that are the parent of joints/ikhandles/membership between rotate/twist. You make this when you create your skeletal system. It makes animation much easier and look a ton better. The more time you put in the skeleton the less you need to worry about how your animations flow together.
iam very new to maya and i made a figure and i wounder how i make it walk from beginnig, i mean from the first button you press.i made my figure i polygons dows it work to make a walk cycle plzz help :D
hey can you tell me why my animation is clearing out? I will set it on the first frame then go to the second frame and change it up then set it to that frame but frame 1 will be lost.
Try turning on auto key, it's at the bottom right hand corner of the screen, it's a little symbol of a key. If it red, it's turned on, if it's white, it's turned off.
I use a program called screen mimic, What ever you do, DO NOT get it. It does not work well, and I have to do 5 minutes, then stop, and process it. If i go much over 5, it freezes up on me, and I have to start over again.
I'm looking for a better program to use, one more reliable.
Great tutorial. its pretty similar to MAX. My models are all robots with no real hip articulation needed for walking. but im going to try this with Biped.
this tutorial is much better than anything i have scene on the net. Thanks.
I'm a very poor drawer, does 3D modelling/animation require me to know how to draw 2D/3D art?

Instead of trying to get maya illegally why not try blender?
If you dont know what it is
