  • epic

  • @7:30 MOTHERFUCKER!!!!!!!!!!!! LMAO

  • SHOW ME YOUR TOOL!

  • why isnt the axe equipped with the floyd rose

  • @skylineXpert Agreed. Double locking systems are the only ones that work 100%.

  • Does it stay in tune better than a Floyd? I am very interested in getting one.

  • @Adrianwk it won't stay in tune better than a Floyd, sadly. nothing really does. an original Floyd that's setup perfectly, is unstoppable unless you clip a string, haha. with this tremolo, there are a lot more factors that go into keeping it (or not keeping it) in tune. if you want this trem to stay in tune as good as Chappers' you'll need to do a lot of lubrication at the moving parts, and then for the most part it'll be alright. it'll slip out sometimes but never severely.

  • @Adrianwk and when i say lube the moving parts i mean lube the nut (get a pencil and color in the nut slots... works real well), you might want to even take the tremolo off and then put some lubricant on those 6 screws, and that area on the bottom of the guitar that the bridge slides on. and also the string trees. i hope i helped in some way here.

  • Are the Chapman ML-1's all the same or are they different like LTD is to ESP? How much do they cost and where can I get one? They look like they respond really well.

  • @Adrianwk sadly all of Chappers' stuff is limited edition. there were only around 200 ML-1's made so you can't buy one new anymore. nah, all ML-1's are the same from the factory... he had a couple of special editions but generally all of em have the same core. Wilkinson trem, no-name pickups (he expected most people to trade em out), grover tuners, mahogany body and neck. you can look on Ebay but most of what you'll find will probably be customized ones. the guitar was made to be customized.

  • wow dude you have epic hair and accent, good video!

  • that dive at 2:42 was epic!!!

  • can you drop tune the guitar without blocking the tremolo? (this particular one)

  • @babasbmx depends on how you've got it set up. if you're gonna set it up like Chappers did, then when you tune down, you won't be able to fit the plectrum in the back of the tremolo anymore, and you might want to tune twice. but what a lot of people do is they adjust it to where the bridge is always flush with the body... that way you can tune down as much as you want and it's almost a hard tail... but you can only dive down.

  • what is the name of this guitar

  • @ViperClutch

    chapman ml-1 :)

  • @ViperClutch Chapman ML-1

  • Well one thing i don't understand...at 6:02 you played two same notes for the effect...but why did you release the finger after pick squealing the note? shouldn't you keep on pressing to make the effects?

i dont hv a guitar atm

  • @sacredguitar Once the harmonics are sounding, you don't need to touch the strings at all to keep them ringing.

  • thanks for the tip

  • im planing to buy an electric guitar but dont know if i should buy 1 with a whammy bar. dont have any experience by the way. should i?

  • @MrREDj If it's your first guitar, don't get a Floyd Rose style tremolo. Get a fixed bridge, or a strat style tremolo.

  • Marshall FTW!

  • i find this hard to jack off to

  • Comment removed

  • i don't

    @Ajarid5

  • I paused at 1:24 and pissed myself laughing

  • how does your guitar stay in tune?

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you . . . now, what kind of whammy bar do I need to do these incredible tricks? I have a Fender mexican made stratocaster with one of those super cheap whammy bar things you just screw in. But it only moves from side to side, you can't pull it up or down, it seems to not be the right thing for these tricks. So? Thank you!

  • Hey, I'm getting a Gibson Meastro Double-cutaway and i want to know if i can add a whammy bar to it because it does'nt come with one, if i can then how? plz respond

  • i dont even have a whammy bar ... dang, i need ta get one though. quick question, and someone please answer ; since my guitar doesn't have a whammy bar , could i just get another bridge WITH a whammy , or would I have to buy a whole new guitar with one? thnx

  • @12thedoo you can install one put paying for the trem system and paying for someone to install it isnt really worth it...your better off buying a guitar that comes with one...get a floyd rose one that lock at the bridge and neck if you can............for the record i dont like tremelos

  • hey..i didn't see the headstock in this vid. does it have locking nuts???

  • Hello

I bought my first electric guitar two days ago, and it has the tremolo, or the whammy bar, or vibrato, or whatever... wich is fantastic using it, but I can't pull it up, I just can push it down, I don't know why :( So my question is, I have to buy a new tremolo or I have to make some kind of modification to my guitar?

    Thanks =)

  • dudes, can you tell me the scale or give me tabs to the lick at 6:32

  • @vaso0o0 It's the e minor pentatonic scale.

  • @pipon55 thanks man (bow)

  • hey dude nice vid , i have a couple of a dark art questions xD 1. my whammy bar bend down it doesnt bend up if u get me , 2. my pick make noise everytime i pick a noise theres this tickin chicking sound so HELP ?!?!?!?!?!? Thnx Alot :)

  • @MrxXADXx If you have a stratocaster then your whammy will more than likely only go one way. Its more of a vintage whammy design. The picking noise is probably the pickups picking up the sound of you picking each note. You could try getting new pickups but its not really neccessary

  • Monkey....If I wasn't a fan before (I was) I certainly am now. I realize this is an older video but in the chaos that is YouTube it can be difficult to find the gems. Why you say am I "certainly" a fan now. Because of the poster int he background of this video. Jack Burton and the Porch Chop Express. Can I say the movie name? Big Trouble in Little China. Truly epic movie.

  • Chappers!! What amp set up do you have here? The sound is rather epic, I like

  • how the fuck do you keep your guitar in tune with using your trem soo much ????

  • hmmmm talking f good quality trems...this edge 3 is pissing me off...Ive set it up fine...just tht fooken bar wont stay tightened!!

  • I bought an ml1 but a trem arm didnt come with it. Andertons sent me one but it only goes in about 1cm and just stops. Is this the wrong arm, or is the trem hole messed up?

  • i do not play guitar, but i think these videos are fascinating. this bloke in particular makes a lot of sense. how is he not more well known???

  • If I installed this trem on another guitar could I just drill for the two outer screws? I say this because I might want to swap for a floyd at some point and would prefer without 4 extra holes...

  • ...and it sounds McBadass!

  • 0:00 - 0:50 You hear that, Slayer? Hahahaha. You know it's true.

  • 1:53 What a guitar face!

  • you rock dude =) greetings from a bc.rich kahler tremolo user ... =) !!!

  • @HazTaylor There might be some tension in the nut, try some graphite from pencil or nut sauce. Just an idea.

  • I have a Epiphone SG and was wondering what whammy bar should i have installed any tips would be appreciated

  • @ThePyroHobo dont it will ruin the guitar get a new guitar with a whammy like an ml1 only 199

  • @ThePyroHobo Stetsbar is easy to install, no routing required.

  • Nice tips chappers :D any chance you could do a setup demo of the wilkinson trem to get the settings you're using? Also, on a wilkinson trem can you pull up beyond the "normal" position or can you only dive from normal?

  • I must buy this guitar lol

  • fucking sick mate rock on ur gd

  • so you like vintage trems more than floating trems?

  • hey chappers, I have Been wondering, what mic do you usually use for videos? an Sm-57?

  • I thought he was goind to show how to block the trem LOL

  • basadss

  • I got my Ml1 on saturday and its seriously awsome. Kinda worried about setting it up myself just incase i screw it up. any advice?

  • NICE!.. hey dude i have this annoying problem with my guitar, its SCREECHES! when i move the bar, its comming from the springs insied. how do i stop that???

  • My Tele doesn't have a whammy :'(

  • rob do you listen to tool because if you do you should post a lesson on a tool song preferably lateralus or schism

  • Hey, Rob. I'm really wanting an ML1, but can I get it with the same pickups as the one in the background, with the two hot rail singlecoils as standard? If so, how much more is it, and can I buy it from Andertons? Cheers dude.

  • Would you ever release a ML1 In Wine Red? or Natrual Wood colour? or perhaps a white finish

  • Nice Super Colossal T-shirt.

  • got my ML1 today put a bill lawrence L-500-XL and two Dimarzio Area '67 Single Coils and i love it,makes my jackson kelly jelious

  • thanks so much for this video, just bought the 410H, what settings do you dial in to get that tone?!

  • Hi can any of you tell me something. Im going to buy a new guitar soon, and im looking on a ESP LTD h-351NT and a ESP LTD h-351FR. The only diffrent is the brigde. The one got a Floyd Rose tremolo the other got a string throu. Its the same price, so can u tell me-is it worth to buy the one with the trem?

  • Let the locks flow, man!

  • I see you are a Satch fan also. Joe completely revolutionized the whammy bar with those effects. Rock On!!!

Nice Super Colossal Guitar shirt. Where did you get that, because I've seen that guitar before but never a shirt for it?

  • Jimi Hendrix was the one who really started all of the whammy bar abuse, but Joe and Steve were the ones who elaborated on it the most.

  • Whaaaa whaaaaa... I want my ML1!!!!! I know they're being quality checked right now. I'm just becoming impatient. I have a pretty big show coming up and a music video shoot and want to have the guitar in me hands!!!!

  • 'I hate it when the flop down after use, it's just not parctical.' Lol. Another great Video! :)

  • And, sorry to bother you even more, but yes, Satch did invent the lizard's tongue.

  • Honestly, though, I prefer the Edge III.

  • Satch scream!!!!!

  • i got my ML1, but i was wondering how i could get my pickup height significantly higher.

  • @saronrock Higher, seriously?!!?! Mail me direct and I'll help you out ;-)

  • @RobChappers no its ok, i just wasnt screwing it right.

    robATthemonkeylord(DOTCOM)

  • This guitar is splendid, I am REALLY thinking of getting one...just one question: which size are the chords on which the tremolo is set up for? 0.10 maybe? Please respond

  • @PJITA Yes I use 10's but I tune down a half step ;-)

  • You are the """""""LORD MONKEY""" There is 2 lords in my religion one is John petrucci with the 9999999999... Notes per second..and Monkey Lord with those awesome videos and very very very talented musician !!Go Monkey !!!

  • Hey Rob can you do a lesson on Auto Flanging?

  • This is gonna give me so many hours of win XD

    Cheers Rob.

  • Truly an inspiration sir! You are immensely badass.

  • great stuff there, but all the best stuff is on part 2 :p

I think I might need it...

  • McBadass. Lmao

  • how would i stop my trem flopping on my strat, it full on does my nut in, i use it but not as much as i could because of it and often miss it when trying to grab it... or is that just a floyd rose thing? cheers Chap

    JB

  • Innuendo...

    EVERYWHERE.

  • you know what chappery chappers. Most of the time i watch your videos even if there is no chance of me using your techniques due to lack of gear. Cause you are one of the best :D

  • Why are you soo good.... This lesson was brilliant. The only one I know was the one where you dump the bar and then tap a harmonic and then release... but this was very helpful :D

  • How many of these fucking comments are there?

SHREDDAGE BABY. rob...how did you get so good!?

    PRACTICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • haha! "mc badass" awesome lesson Mr Chappers. Loving the new guitar to man!

  • I recently bought a ibanez sa and when i use the whammy the nut makes a aweful creaking high piched sound.........it is a big dissapointment :'(

  • Chappers, do you know if you can put these for sale on iTunes? It would be very convenient :)

  • I could look into it not sure how to do that... you can use Paypal to get them from my site..

  • why not just use a floyd?

  • Great lesson Rob, I never knew you were that awesome with a whammy! The only whammy I have is on a squier strat though. :P

  • lol and it sounds Mcbadass xD well played man

  • have you made a video that shows all the parts of ML1? i think i might buy 1... its pretty kick ass...

  • what i would REALLY love to see a lesson on is simply the AMAZING lead licks you play!

Im not sure if they are from songs, or you have any lessons up already, but if you do let me know!!

  • @GeetarGuy101 Thanks mate - I actually have about 3 lessons on my licks in my store for very cheap (About £2 each)

  • Rob you look so much better with out glass. just for one in alife time could you please shave your beard and grow mutton chops or handle bar mustache!

  • Have you replaced the pickups on that ML1? Because those things are so freaken harmonically rich

  • @aligatorsandwitch72 No mate these are just the stock pups - I am cranked up through a JVM410 but tbh they are just good pickups ;-)

  • I'm a fixed bridge man, tune-o-matic feticist... but this tutorial was rad!

  • Van Halen did that lizard tongue as well.

  • gr8 tutorial!..

u dun use ur pinky much.. do u ???

  • i love what you said at 0:49. paul gilbert says the same things.

thats why i play fixed bridge axes

  • Nice one Rob, never ever use my whammy bar, but might have to give that Lizard Tongue a go!

  • Chappers, joe should hail you :)

  • very mc-badass lesson

  • I think the lizard technique sounded wicked like two different directions o it was cool man

  • Nice, good idea for a lesson, ahhh my strat trem is shitty!

  • Comment removed

  • "first get a Floyd because any other bridge is shit,"

oh the fail... its too much

  • Thanks Rob!

Just What I needed to see!

  • @MrLosfuegos No problem mate - More each week ;-)

  • LORD JOE :)

  • hey chappers i also own a jvm 410 halfstack and i would love to know the settings you use

  • @breakthispleeez I use Satriani's settings - They are secret ;-)

  • Very nice!! usefull

  • chappers u owned :D

  • Amazing guitars I WANT ONE!!!!!! :((( and you are my friend one of the best guitarist on youtube...:)) Wish you all the best :)

  • @sweep9090 Thanks mate I appreciate that ;-)

  • Nice! Never knew about the "Dab" harmonic! Can't wait to give it a try! Don't have a whammy on the LP, but the harmonic ought to come in handky somewhere along the way!

  • excellent

  • nice man!

really liking this! gonna put my squier showmaster together again for some whammy abuse! :D

  • That is a mathematics term relating to movement - I think you mean dissonance!

  • Hmmmm maybe send the message again mate, we got loads of mail recently and it may have gone astray ;-)

  • McBadass indeed!

  • i have been wanting to know this for long time...yess wuu!!!

  • Rob, is this your stock pickup guitar or the Dimarzio equiped one ?

  • These are stock pups mate - They are surprisingly good ;-)

  • Great!

  • LMAO at chappers response to guitarman AHAHAH

  • This is keeewehell stuff. Thanks Rob. I wish I had the gift of the Chappers chat, would make my vids far more interesting....... ;)

  • Thanks mate, It's all down to coffee... mostly...

  • Note to self - use the word 'McBadass' as often as possible this week.

  • haha, "Hot chicks will sleep with you" !

  • i have a gotoh floyd rose installed on my JS 100. i feel like the trem is a bit stiff when i pull up, i mean compare to ibanez rg series with floyd, its a little bit stiff, although it can do some flutter. other than than there's no problem, maybe slightly out of tune (is it because old stud, i didnt change it, quite old) please help mr chappers!

  • Too many springs inside your cavity (which can be painful) take one out and re-adjust the tension ;-)

  • @RobChappers ow?its when i pull up though? i have 3 springs attached.

  • Colossal shirt you have there :)

  • Yep - saw Joe live in wales = epic ;-)

  • hate the fact that peope only use trems for divebombs. So this lesson is great lol

  • amazed how well that guitar stays in tune without the lockin nut. mmmm :)

  • Yeah - It's all to do with good quality parts and more importantly a good set up ;-)

  • teach me some shred!!!!

  • my guitar just doesn't have the sustain to do a lot of these "tricks" especially with the harmonics. would new pickups help with this?

  • Yeah they would help - or maybe more volume ;-)

  • hey i was wondering with these lesson vids if you could do one on the weirder type scales

  • hmm. chappers what is oscillation?

  • Can I get a floyd rose set up as well as that trem? I'm with Rob, I really hate the swinging hang of the floyd.
