She is amazing! It really isn't a form of whistling, of course, it's singing... The sound is still caused by the vibration of the vocal cords just like any other singing. It's a super-high register falsetto. I understand why people call it a "whistle" but that isn't really accurate. Either way though, she is really talented and one hot sexy chickie.

@WhistlersBrother The only high falsetto is the note at 1:13. These notes are infact 'whistles' produced from a triangular positioning of the larynx, Mariah is known for her whistle/flageolet register.

It wasn't because of her performance in the movie too, since Roger Ebert gave a positive, honest review about her performance, and everyone knows Ebert counts. Pretty unfair actually.
