Personally I thought this was a very reasonable review. I love the Sti but it is true if your buying this car, your buying it cuz you love it and the little things won't turn you away. They might even suck you further in (like the huge spoiler). But they are correct some persona who has no knowledge or specific want for the car might see many imperfections

Thw 06 WRX does 5.4secs and 13.5 secs 1/4 mile.

STI is 4.5 secs 0-60mph and 13.0 in 1/4.

And the 2010 WRX claimed by many actually does close to 4.5 seconds 0-60mph.

I have a Bugeyed Wrex here in Chicago and think the body style is perfect. The new STi stock I hate its looks. There is a lot you have to do to make that car look good. Ive done nothing to modify its looks. She has factory installed side skirts, spoiler and air diffuser and is simply beautiful.

truth... The new car is essentially more of the classic "rally car look" than the older one... It has bigger fender flares, more rigid chassis, and shorter overhangs... The body design of the old one was shared across ALL trim levels... The new one is has a different chassis than the WRX and regular Impreza versions. You'll have to fabricate the big-ass fenders on the lower trim levels to look like a new STi, instead of just adding a wing/hood scoop on the older cars to look like an older STi...

I own an 06 STI and love it. Nothing can even come close to it on a country road. I would put money vs a ferrari on a tight country road. (not that I wouldnt want the ferrari more). And if it is wet out, forget it, suby wins.

the STi still puts out the same power as it did in the 2004 and 2005 cars but cars are now rated differently(SAE Rating), so most cars now have different HP & TQ numbers even though the car hasn't changed in power, just the way they measure it.

the evo came first, the first lancer was built in 1973 not the evo, the first impresa was made long time after, the evo is an upgraded lancer same thing with the sti, the fist one to make car ralli was the audi, then the mitsubishi and the subaru, audi was the first to introduced 4wd into ralli, then mitsu, but yeah the mitsu is older and is a lot better than the subie.

I hate this new body (well the front of the car). My fav WRX is still the 05 model. I know that technically, this is a better car, but as far as curb appeal... It looks like a suped-up/customized Pontiac Sunfire. Ugly.
