Congratulations to the 380 'dislikes' ??? on what level of interlect have they chosen to even bother to mark --'dislike' ? The actual message ?--the way it has been presented ? either way, The expression --Brain dead comes to mind, and of course, in their case--the rest of their carcase will soon follow if caught in this scenario without belt protection---more proof for Darwin--the dim and weak will perish first.
@cras17 I don't think there's a mystical or religious meaning---in the UK, little girls where these BUTTERFLY wings at parties ---or just for fun at home.I expect you are invited by the makers to interpret this as you like.
@cras17 OK---but many people have asked why the daughter has wings, and interpreted this as religious--ie,,'she must be an 'angel', come to save him etc --which is fine.
@Gustaveleloup Yeah--being hurled head first through a windscrene at speed is always good for a laugh. As the old fable goes--'And some fell on stoney ground'.
I can't stop watching this...and the music....I wish it was longer. I've listened to the original and it is beautiful, but it's not the same as this piece which was made just for this commercial with the angelic voices.
Swedish inventor, Nils Bohlin invented the three-point seat belt. Bohlin's belt was introduced by Volvo in 1959. Seat belts on school buses is common in Europe. The U.S. ignored the device in cars until Henry Ford introduced the first American Automobile with 2-point lap belts. Sold out production and forced other auto manufactures to play catch-up. IC was the first school bus manufacture to offer belts as standard equipment. 28-percent of their production now includes seat belts.
I am sure that I do not exagerate when I say this is the most wonderful ad i ever have seen. What I cannot understand is WHY are we not seeing it on tv daily. Can someone please tell me. IT MUST BE SHOWN, its too good and it will be EFFECTIVE. agreed?
@MrVerymanly Many people have asked that question. I put it to SusexSaferRoads-campaigners, but I'm none the wiser. Something to do with the licencing costs--seems rediculous to me, when so much money has been wasted on innefectual campaigns in the past. Everyone agrees that, this is THE best video of this kind EVER--just look at the above viewings and comments--The list of awards is unequalled--it all beats the crap outa me----
It is a rare thing to find indeed to have your world rocked by 89secs of TV commercial.
To the makers of this, i think of it everytime i get in a car and put on a seat belt. And watching it again now i can't help but have a tear run down my face.
I dont understand why people dont wear their seatbelts. Seriously its not that uncomfortable and its not work the risk. I have a friend who was in a car accident recently and her friend wasnt wearing a seatbelt went right through the windshield and has major brain damage. Dont take the risk.
This speaks in a language that lives and breathes. The change of his expression from happiness, to shock, to something that can't easily be described but can innately be understood. Pain. Fear. Regret. Sorrow.
The strength of the embrace that soon followed became his safeguard, became his aegis. The abyss could not take him while he was amongst those who love him, and that which he loved.
If you wont wear a seatbelt for yourself, then do it for the people you love.
I get chills every time i look at this video.. it is really touching, bringing reality to you, breaking things to the simplest life matters, just enough so you can never again underestimate the price of your life, the life of your love ones.. :)
Thank you Volvo for inventing the 3-point seat belt over 50 years ago, making it standard equipment and not patenting it so other automobile manufactures could use it. Nils Bohlin and Volvo are credited for saving millions of lives around the world with this invention. Thank you.

@vuminhkhanh159 The music was composed by Siddhartha Barnhoorn a sound designer, especially for the commercial.
