Then you can find him from prison if I remember right... he is half tree and half man(fallout2).

You find him almoust tree in Oasis in fallout 3.

Well kind of, from the pit if u walk around 4 a while u will run into some wastelanders and they want 2 know where the oasis is they give u a map marker. then they try 2 kill u and after u kill them follow the map marker and ur there. (that's how I found it)

Nope. You need to find the oasis located in the North part of the wasteland. There is a random encounter I've experienced where you encounter a group of wastelanders speaking of it. However after you get them to tell you where it is they try to kill you. I got this down by Super Mart.

i found out that dude harold was a human who went into a bunker (were the east coast mutants came from) with some others but got nocked out and awoke looking like a goul (tjough he isn't a goul) and soon grow a tree on his head plus he is in fallout1,2 and 3

actually, according to the creators of the original fallout, Harold isn't a ghoul. He's a human who was exposed to the FEV virus, but unlike the super-mutants, he didn't get dipped into an FEV-vat.

So, since the definition of a ghoul is a human who's become heavily irradiated and turned into a monster, Harold can't be called a ghoul ^^ He's a mutant, a lesser mutant if you will.

To locate this quest i go straight up form springvale. SERIOULSY! STRAIGHT UP NORTH OF SPRINGVALE! There will be some mountains when your get there. it will be kind of tough when you try to find the specific location. There where be some old dude saying a bunch of crap.

The timeline isnt shown anywhere other than through playing previous Fallout titles. Through-out the Fallout games, Harold has evolved - This is how:

Fallout 1: Ghoul

Fallout 2: Ghoul with twigs growing out of his head.

Fallout 3: A full blown tree.

This isnt an oblivion easter egg, Harold is a fallout legend.

Jace, burger, you get the quest from a dead Wastelander in a random encounter, if you kill him, or whatever he's fighting kills him. I waited in front of Super-Duper Mart, saving and reloading until I got the raiders killing him.

No, he was in both Fallout 1 and 2. He's in... I think the hub in some old shack in Fallout 1 and he tells you his story of becoming a ghoul in that one. In 2, he's alittle bit loopy, very old, and has a tree growing out of his head. I'm so glad they kept him in =] I knew they'd bring him back somehow!
