AndreDevescerii, I did not know some TER branches from adjacent regions also served Paris but it makes sense since they are adjacent regions (Picardie, Centre, etc.). But what I was saying in response to your previous message is that the Paris Region IS served by a regional network called the Transilien. It serves the Ile-de-France, thus Greater Paris. The RER supplements service in Greater Paris. The RER is similar to the S-Bahn and the Transilien is similar to the Regionalbahn(DE)/TER(FR).

When a rail network (like RER or Transilien) serves the suburbs of a city and sometimes the areas just outside, it's called suburban rail, when a train (like TER) doesn't stop anywhere in Île-de-France except maybe some outer suburbs and goes far beyond the region, it's called regional rail. You can't state that you must take a regional train to get to Luzarches, or Persan, or Mantes-la-Jolie, these are all suburbs of Paris, there are also inner suburbs ONLY served by Transilien and not RER.

You say there are "S- & Regionalbahn" on the video. Which one is a regional train? RER's inner suburban rail, Transiien's outer suburban rail, the regional rail's called TER.

There are no TER in the Paris Region. TER is for the other French cities. Paris has RER + Transilien network which is similar to the TER concept.

True that Paris hasn't got its "own" regional rail system but TER Centre, TER Picadie etc. serve Paris, and they call at much fewer stations, so there are TER in Paris. And besides, would you call a suburban line to Luzarches a regional rail line? It's Transilien. And the one to Longueville is Transilien too.

Вадим, это не RER. Это Transilien. На Defence, вдоль Т2, ходят электрички с конечной на Gare Saint-Lazare.
