The contest is generally held as a bit of a joke, which is sad because it's far more honest than, say, American Idol or the X Factor, and is less under the control of the moguls than any of the corporate awards. It's only a joke because there are so few good songs in the entire history. (Lordi are a brilliant example of a good song, ABBA - like them or hate them - had a long-running career after their win, and the Riverdance team did well after being a half-time act. That's about it.)

Its very surprising that Greece actually gave 12 points to Finland because there was this one group that actually sent request to EBU (?) that Finlands song must be disqualified because of some religion stuff.

I thought they wouldnt give any high points, but Greece surprised me big time. THANK YOU GREECE!!! (Although Eurovision nowdays is bad because the vote is no longer great as they vote for neighbourhoods)
